  1. Gary, I'm pretty sure that info has been posted. Use the search function. Babler posted info about all the Ramps and the most recent post should be up to date.
  2. Thanks for the great Report. Headed up to cape Fear area on the 2nd for five days. Cant imagine what I'm going to find, I have never seen the lake this flooded. Any idea if topwater will turn on by then? And are people doing well flipping and skipping into all this new cover?
  3. Nice report, I throw the zoom lizard in that chartruese/watermellon color a lot. What color was working for you? Any pics of the 5?
  4. With the warmer temps are there any signs of LM making beds? Coming to Cape Fair area on the 2nd and wondering if they'll be on the beds or hitting topwater?
  5. What do you mean by the flood might have helped?
  6. You think BPS would have a vested interest in keeping TR a thriving fishery. I wonder if they could be lobbied to help fund stocking and general research on the rock? Well probably not, they are propably too short sited to see any long term benefit, its all about the bottom line.
  7. Has there been thoughts of stocking TR with florida strain bass? Or would this be bad news for the northern strain? Florida bass and their super aggressiveness would account for their faster growth too, huh? Joe
  8. Couldn't agree more about messing with spawning females. Even worse if theyre pulled off of they're taken away from their nest and the nest is left to be raided.
  9. Swimbaits are becoming very popular up here in the northeast. Its a shame that soft plastic swimbaits are illeagal on Tanney cause some of the best SWBs are trout imitators, such as the Huddleston. These baits do great in places where big bass go on trout feeding frenzies. There are good wooden trout options like the MS slammer. I wander if they have been/or are effective on Tanny. I may try to throw a jointed wooden rat on the rock when I come down in May. I'll post any results if I do decide to throw it.
  10. Thank you everyone who makes this site possible. The wealth of info available here gives us more than a running start to a good day on the Rock. Thank you again. Joe
  11. Nice bass, those bellies look like they might explode.
  12. Great report and some gorgeous bass!
  13. Bug-eyed bass usually indicate bass that are older.
  14. Great looking fish. I too would much prefer a healthier bass population in TR than at bass pro.
  15. I found this video when I was doing some research for my upcoming trip. Hope it helps.
  16. "Keep it simple stupid." - great advice Bill. thanks for the smallie article, very informative. Sounds like I need to spend more time with my map than with my tackle. One question is I only throw baitcasters so is shakey out of the question?
  17. Thanks for sharing, hopefully it helps me hook into some of these fighters in the spring.
  18. Hi everyone, My name is Joe. I was born and raised in St. louis. Grew up fishing during summer vacations on Table Rock. I went to CMSU for a year in 96' and moved to Seattle in 97 and then to Boston on 03 to go to Berklee college of music. Anyway, for my graduation present last year I asked my father for a nice rod and reel. He got me a Johnny Morris Elite baitcasting combo and bunch of tackle. I had a blast last summer and got hooked, learned a lot. My father and my uncle go on a yearly trip to Table Rock and I am going to join them this year, probably in late April. Instead of just lurking, I wanted to introduce myself. I am obviously going to primarily hanging out in the TRL area, and asking a few questions to prepare for my trip. I've lurked a little bit, and am glad to see the site has upgraded its software, it was a pain to have to click to see each response. Here's a pick of a nice 5ish river bass I caught in the fall on a spook.
