  1. I ordered one of John Walther's Portable Fly Tying stations. John is out of Jefferson City. His son-in-law had posted a picture of the station in that post and I was looking for that one. I'll have mine in about a week. YEEEEEHAWWW!! I can't wait.
  2. I, totally, understand. No worries. Thanks for the response.
  3. I was trying to find this post to see the picture of the fly tying station that was posted in it and it shows the Topic but there's nothing in it.
  4. I was just giving you a hard time. Czech Republic... WOW!! That's great. Take lots of pictures and post them on the board so that we can live, vicariously, through you!!!
  5. Zach, Good job.
  6. Interesting. What's it taste like? I've always wondered.
  7. So, how did you cook that Turtle and what do you have to do to prepare it?
  8. Since I couldn't get into the forums, I was cruising the website and I came across this pattern "Dan's Turkey Tail Emerger". However, it didn't have a picture. I was wondering if any of you guys had a picture of this fly that you wouldn't mind sharing? Thanks, DaddyO
  9. The water started dropping at the Lower Illinois and now it is back up again. I'm gonna keep an eye on both the Arkansas and the Lower Illinois and try to get a line in the water sometime between now and Tuesday.
  10. Chance, Sounds like a deal. Same thing applies for the Arkansas River also. I'd like to go there with somebody that knows what they're doing. Zach, If you're reading this thread, Good Luck on your Tournament in Pennsylvania this weekend.
  11. I hear ya, brother!! I'm going through withdrawals. The only encouragement that I've had lately is that the wife said we may be going to Angel Fire at the end of June!!! I think there will be some good fishing only minutes away. I can't wait!!!
  12. Zach, I checked my phone to see if there was something wrong with it because it never rang......... Where's the love? Low water and you didn't even call...
  13. Jeremy, I can't get enough of that style of reporting. It reminds me of the streamer video that Phil did. It is good to be able to see how to tie a specific fly and even better to be able to see how to fish that fly.
  14. I've been watching the lake level reports. I'm hoping that we may be presented with some low water on Saturday or Sunday. They need to drop the lake level 1 more foot to get it below the bottom of the flood pool. So, I'm hoping that when they hit that they will shut it down for a couple of days or at least during the day.
  15. Branson and I would attend. It would be nice to get the BPS to co-sponsor the event.
  16. It seems to me that the fishing might be pretty good while they are shutting the water down to build the dams. I'm guessing they'll be low water dams like the Zink one. In periods of low flow, it should give us more opportunities to fish other areas. Please don't interpret this as being argumenative, I'm only offering another view. Who knows, the fishing may wind up being better below Jenks than it is at the Zink Dam. I swear, if TKD doesn't stop releasing all that water, I'm taking my Striper Rod and putting a pink stripe on my Clousers and gonna go there and fish. OOPS... That probably should've been in the Illinois River forum.
  17. Trout Fanatic's fly is called a Schminnow. Here's a link to a video on how to tie it:
  18. Cricket, That was a good read. Thank you for sharing your memories of your grandpa and reminding us how precious our time with family is. A fitting tribute.
  19. Gregg, Thanks for the feedback. I just got some #4's. I thought I'd tie up some more clousers and I got some estatz and marabou to tie up some schminnows also. I was thinking it may be a couple of weeks before the water drops and warms up also. I'm looking forward to trying this again. Thanks guys for the input. Phil
  20. Chance...I'll keep my gear in the truck. Maybe we can go out some evening after work when the water is right. What size clousers and deceivers should I be using? Right now, I've got them all tied on #6 hooks.
  21. I saw the water dropping too. I got on the water about 2pm. I was throwing a white and chartruse clouser. I fished in front of the low water dam where it turns the corner and starts to run down river. It was pretty crowded so I walked down by PSO. I got one strike and missed it. Then the water started coming up so I trekked out of there back to the truck. I think I'm going to have to meet one of you guys up there sometime because I was pretty much just chucking and duckin the clouser. Swinging it through the drift with a tight line and then stripping it back to me or letting it sit at the end of the drift for a while before stripping. Since this was my first time, I don't really feel like I was fishing the right spots or the right way. Anyway, I was glad to, at least, get out and wet a line. It gave me an opportunity to teach myself how to do a double haul.
  22. I called the number and it said 0 generators from midnight to 7 and 1 generator from 7 to 1 and 2 generators from 1 to midnight on Saturday. I don't know if you can believe that because they were supposed to crank up to 2 generators when the shut them down today.
  23. Guys, I can see the Arkansas River from my Downtown Tulsa office. I can tell you that as of 10am this morning the river has not dropped. It is still the same level that it has been all week. Disappointment here also. My new 9ft 8wt just came in yesterday and I was wanting to try for some Striper on a Fly Rod action. Tight Lines, Phil Curtis aka DaddyO
  24. DaddyO

    Hello

Come on in, the water is fine.
  25. Are the big black spots, along the red strip on the side, specific to the McCloud strain of rainbows? I caught one, that looked just like the one in the top picture, in the Lower Illinois River below Tenkiller lake in Oklahoma. At the time, I thought, that it sure was a pretty fish and I should've taken a picture.
