  1. Well my vacation on TR has come and gone but man o man the fishing was great. We caught alot of fish everyday we were there. They were on the bank morning noon and evening. We caught alot of fish on a white booyah 1/4oz spinnerbait and a pbj jig. They were all on the bank and points. We caught 2 smallies but they were pretty smalll and a real nice crappie. Overall my trip was a blast. I don't think i've ever seen that many boats in my life on the water at the same time even at midnight on friday. thanks to all for the help and the advice.
  2. Thanks guys see you on the water. Im headed out the door.
  3. I knew by looking at the lake maps that i wasn't in mill creek like the place im stayin at website says. I still can't find any salt n pepper grubs or smoke is there any place in shell knob to buy this kind of tackle? Oh yeah and one other thing where is the best place to eat around there? Thank you guys so much for your help it is greatly appreciated. I wish we had something around my area like this.
  4. I just put on my first tournament last month and it was a pain. Its your tournament so its your rules. I would make everyone take out at the same ramp and just check live wells. I have a waiver i can email you that clears you from any problems. Just be sure everyone signs a waiver and tell everyone that shows up the rules and you shouldn't have any problems.
  5. Ok we are fixin to head up there tomorrow. I've been keepin up on these reports i think i have everything i need. Im still lookin for the best thing to bring. I still have one question. Im stayin at Fish n Fun resort we stayed there last year but I have no clue what creek or part of the lake this is called so any info would be helpful. We will be in a off white and brown ranger boat. So if you see us wave or stop and say hey.
  6. I just talked to the game warden over there in Ottawa county and you can still fish on the neosho it was just the spring that is closed from twin bridges. He said they were catching a couple in the park at miami but now the melted snow has pushed them back. He said with this rain that should bring them back. I am gonna head over there the saturday before easter should be good by then with all the warm weather we are supposed to have.
  7. Got some great deals on some lucky craft jerkbaits at the green country tackle show. I bought some lucky craft jerkbaits for $5 in table rock shad 100dd and so on. They are usually $16 at the store. So I hope they work if not they were worth the price anyway. I wasn't about to pay $16 for one lure. Do you think these will work?

  12. I appreciate everyone help. I wish we had a forum like this for the lakes around here. Everyone is so helpful. I would hire a guide but I don't have an extra $250 layin around or I would in a heartbeat. How far is the Baxter and Campbell point area by boat from where im stayin at. Thanks for your help.
  13. I come over every year to try to catch a nice smallmouth and always seem to get shutout. But Im hoping this year is different. We are staying in the millcreek area at Fish N Fun. We always come the first of march but this year we are coming on April 9th because last year when we came it was all snow and ice. Im a crappie fisherman but there is nothing like hooking a nice smallmouth and that is why I come here every year. But I always get shutout on the smalljaws. I ask the same question every year. "What do I need to catch these fish" Please help me. Im willing to try anything. As always thanks for your help and God Bless
  14. I personally don't eat them. I know alot of people that do. I have heard a 101 ways to clean and cook them but none seem to satisfy me. You release as many fish as you want as long as you don't have one tied up. I just enjoy fishing for these monsters.
  15. I went over to miami this morning, and they are in the park by the dozens. I snagged from 10am to about 1:30 and caught 13. I coudn't handle anymore. I only caught 2 females biggest only 54Ibs. the rest were males. Alot of people were there.
  16. Has anyone heard if they were snagging any Bills in the park at miami yet? I haven't made it over there to try it yet
  17. anyone seen any number of Bills caught on the river yet. Im chompin at the bit to go but it a good drive for me to go over there and not catch anything.
  18. I hope to see everyone on the water. We are fixen to leave for the Rock now. A 4hr drive isn't too bad. We will be in a older green ranger boat. If you see us don't be afraid to stop and say hey. It would be nice to put some faces with these messages.
  19. $85 is half of what i have in it. They are both less than a year old. Only been used once for snaggin.
  20. I have a 1979 ranger bass boat for sale. 2 live wells, rod boxes, 140 Johnson, hummingbird 515 fishfinder, 2 mounted spot lights, motorguide 56Ib 12/24 trolling motor with foot guide, Gel-coat is fading, Overall great boat. It Plains out quick will run 57mph. $2500 firm. (918)914-3232 I will be in the shell knob will from the 27th-2nd give me a buzz.
  21. I have a 10ft meat hunter rod with and Okuma AV80 reel. Brand new last year. let me know if your interested.
  22. Its hard for me to believe that they are already up in the park. I don't even try the park until the first big rain and even then most of what you catch are small males. If you want to catch monster Bills go over to Kaw lake and there you can expect to catch one anywhere from 60-90Ibs on a regular basis. But it is good to hear a positive report this early
  23. Just curious what is considered an average SM? And what is the lake record.
  24. Around here they are kinda strange. On the lake they will be anywhere from 10-25ft deep and in the river that i fish they are 3ft even on the coldest days. Last year on the rock I couldn't even catch one. Off of the dock all we would catch were small K's and on the main lake fishin minnow's and jigs we caught lots of bluegill. Im a die-hard crappie fisherman here. But it seems like the things i try on the Rock don't work. Oh and the crappie on my aviator is 3Ib6oz and 2Ib4oz.
