  1. I didnt fish the park at all but did quite well on Rapid below Pactola as well as Spring Creek. A pink SJW with gold bead and a beadhead squirl were doing the trick. I actually caught my biggest fish ever(brown) at Spring Creek. If you get a chance you should give em a try. I have better luck at those rivers than anywhere else in the hills.
  2. How was the trip to the black hills? I was up there the 3rd week and had snow and rain.
  3. Thats fantastic!!
  4. Yesterday I was able to fool a few on a elk hair caddis. That was the closest thing I had in my box and it caught about 10 or so. This trip was my first opener and it blew my mind. Way to many people. It cleared out pretty quick though. I had great luck with a beaded san juan both days. Now I am back at work and going through trout withdrawls. Sucks to be me!!!
  5. Thanks for the help guys. It sound like it will be a challenge with all that timber. I have never fished the current so new water and the chance to chase some longbeards has got me giddy. It does not sound like there is a lot of pressure there in relation to the amount of land. That will be a welcome change since I have been hunting public land in Ks the past few yrs. that gets hammered. I was still able to fill both tags last yr. but the birds were pushed around quite a bit. Gobbles in the mornin and the zing of my ross reel in the evening.....can't wait. Thanks again guys and I will let you know how it turns out.
  6. Does that mean there are not alot of birds there or are they pressured? Is there a better place to go? Sorry for all the questions but a 5 hr drive from kcmo is to far to scout. Is it even worth my time or should I concentrate on fishin? Thanks for the help!!
  7. I am wanting to head down to the current this spring to chase some long beards and catch a few trout. Does anyone have any idea how the hunting is on Cedar Grove or Sunklands CA? The wife will be joining me so hopefully we can get on some birds. Any help would be greatly appreciated
  8. I was there with my dad and brother. Wow what a flooded mess. We had the best luck stripping streamers along the bank. Olive, black, and brown all worked but olive was the best. I landed about a dozen or so that way as well as a few drifting a tan scud.
  9. Thanks, I will check those those places to see what we can get for him. I know what you mean about NFOW and Crane. I have fished them both and it can be tricky. My dad and brother are going with us and are interested in giving them a shot. We might end up heading to Roaring River if we are not having any luck. We are staying in Branson though so it would be nice if we could just fish Tanney. Any guess as to the generation Jan. 1st, 2nd, & 3rd.?
  10. I am heading down to teach my nephew how to fish and am needing to rent some waders for him. Does anyone know if there is a place to do that in Branson? Hopefully they won't be running alot of water so we can fish the upper waters. We might hve to make the journey to NFOW if Tanney is not. We also plan on hitting Crane on the way home. Should be a fun trip.
