  1. iv used to do the same as well.....bring spin rod and fly rod....everytime end up using the spin rod 80% of the day. would try the fly rod with no success and switch back to what was comfortable the old spin rod and trout worm. the day i left the spinner at home and forced my self to catch fish and learn with the fly rod(a little more than a year and a half ago) was the day i'ev found my new and long lasting obsession with fly fishing. I now own two rod set ups and a whole mess of fly tying materials/tools....... Its a Great sport..gotta love it.
  2. caught and released safely.......love to here that.....very nice fish
  3. i thought combofix would have done it for ya.....have you checked ur host file?....c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/host.......open host file with notepad...if there are any other entries beside the localhost...there might be two localhost entries, but ya if there are any others in there with some random ip's delete them out and resave host file.....make sure before editing the host file that you save a backup ccopy of it before you modify it. .......if that doesnt work...have you done a search on ur pc for the 4you.exe file.....try searching for it and delete it out if you find it.
  4. yea iv been out there a couple of times...some very nice bass if you can find em....also have caught some nice whites out of there aswell.....if you like fighting gar its a good spot for that to...i plan on tryiing to hook into a few on my fly rod this summmer, should be fun.
  5. im a IT student at ranken tech here in st. louis......i just fixed this same problem on a home computer of mine.......like you said none of my virus software would pick it up. ......download combofix from http://combofix.net/ right click the download link at bottom of page and select save as.....once downloaded run the program.....it may seems a little scary with all the warnings it gives you but its ok....run it, it will take maybe 10 to 20 mins...it will restart you pc and create a log file....it will remove this redirecting problem you are having and maybe some other malware that you didnt know you had....let me know how it goes...any questions just ask.
  6. thinking about taking girlfriend out this weekend just to get out on the boat.....i know simpsons is not the nicest lake around but easy to get to for me....was looking to do some crappie fishing just to keep her entertained for a couple of hours...anybody know how deep they might be right now....or any good spots on the lake
  7. i hear you with the whole solitude deal....we were not by any means trying to fish anywhere insite of these guys. just needed to pass them to get further down stream
  8. ya i hooked a decent amount of those 12inches up that way ....i ended up bringing home a 16, 13, and proly a 12...nothing to bad...my dad wanted em for good friday
  9. ya thats what i was doing up there , trying to get a few to take home for my ol man ...he worked on my car for me while i was gone....did end up take 3 too him ...that first hole was pretty stacked
  10. i would agree that the cookies probaby arent enabled.....need to go into internet properties and enable em and try again
  11. wow nice fish did u fish the flies only section in the park ...i believe i ran into u all the way up top of the flys only section . i asked how it was going and u didnt hear me the first time and ask what i said?
  12. i did think i heard some banjos playing but could just have been a radio i was in site 417 ...why do u ask?
  13. stream condtions improved everyday i was down there...sunday it was high and off color but still fishable, and it just got better from there on. by wed afternoon it was perfect i would say not to clear not to murked still a lil high and fast flow. ya i didnt let that guy get to me much but its just stupid to act like that...everyones down there for the same reason their love of trout fishing and theres deff enough room for everyone to have a good day on the water...no need to be rude to everyone who happens to come ur way.
  14. was down with a couple buddies for the begining of the week and had a great time. weather all but sunday morning, was great. I am already sunburnt and its was march. fishing was pretty good the whole trip, sunday the water was up and flowing a bit and off color..but we still caught fish, mostly on the 88 or a glo bug...figured that be easy for em to see. We fished out side the park, either at tan vat or walked out from the park, everyday for a couple of hour. Outside the park down stream at the boulders i had a very big brown chase down a streamer but did not take it. Also yesterday morning we went to walk down out side the park to the boulders form the park and ran in the a very rude guy(s). After walking down on the bank up to the waste pond I walked down to the water. i see four or five guys fishing different holes on the first part of stream there down by the private property and imeditatly this guys starts running is mouth, " its getting pretty tight in here eh", he proceeds to tell us how we need to go bout navagating the stream and the whole time making rude comments. He also tells us he feels likes hes in the %%%%%% park again. that was my fourth day in a row down there never had any problems, then this guy thinks he owns the place. It angered all of us, we get maybe 10 days a year to go down and fish montauk/currrent and it kinda sucks when u go down and get hasseled by some guy. anyway if ur a part of this forum buddy and u read this ...just wanted to let u know how cool u r man or think u r . ...........and last , we did fish the c&r for a little while and i got in a 17-18 brown and a 22 inch rainbow....i know its just the C&R but still great fun. fished the flys only at the end of the day on wed and caught a decent amount on green zebra or green scud....will post pics as soon as buddys load them on my ftp.
  15. if the water is up ....which it is at 1.82 gage height and 186 discharge....i know this is on the high side but i dont know what is too high...but if its fishable i would use streams
  16. ya last i checked it was 1.87 at tan vat.....which is where ill be doing most of my fishing .....i did hear i was supposed to rain sunday but i heard it was a morning fast passing shower that was going to hit ...so hopefully if it does hit it only rains for a hour or so..
  17. think it will drop back down by sunday or monday?
  18. ill be down there the 28-31.....staying at montauk in loop 4...might c ya before ya leave...be fishing out of the park most of the morning

  23. happy to read that article. im hoping if more fish start holding in the lower spring branch it might help spread out the crowds , being there is more fish holding spots to work at instead of everyone trying to fish the same couple of holes.
  24. alright guys i have looked at a few different patterns have have come up with some of my own creations using this foam...including a ant and beatle thingy ...i need to pick up a coouple differnt colors of the hooper legs but here's a couple of my "rough drafts".
