    i have had great success at meramec springs with this bait................ciclid fish pellets from the pet store grind them to a dust almost add some flour and water, maybe garlic or you could use corn juice instead of water....mix it untill you get the right consistency ......works better than any dough bait iv tried..i havent used dough yet this season but it worked great last year bman whats the recipe for the bossco bait??

    thanks for the tips...im leaving this sunday and wont be back until friday ill be down in lesterville staying at twin rivers landing......i am planning on bringing my fly rod and my spin rod.....i read something in the paper the other day about the black river they were sayiong that it is the best it has been for floating in several years....also they noted that the water was very clear this year due to the floods washing away the silt left over from when that dam broke in 2005....anyway ill let you guys know how the trip goes.....

    Hey guys i am thinking about going down to montauk on sunday....i have spent many days at meramec but have never been to montauk....plan on bringing my fly and spin rod .........if anyone has any tips on what to use and where are the hot spots.....any advice would be great thanks

    i already have brand new scientific angler Weight Forward #5 weight line so i dont need to worry about that..i had bought a cheap reel for this old fly rod i had gotten from my grandpa theres no writing on it...heres a pic if anyone knows who makes it or anything about it...........

    I am going to get a fly rod soon and i am having trouble on deciding what rod and reel to buy....I want to use it for trout and bass......i am going to the black river the end of june and want to use it for some smallmouth so i need to get on a move ....any advice would be of great help......willing to spend around 200...i know thats not much to spend on a rod and reel .....

    oh yeah...even if you run a cross some sunfish they will tear it up

    no its def not a long ear...i am very famailiar with longear and have raised a couple in a 55 gal tank for a while.......the fish i am tlaking about had the exact body and fins and mouth of a crappie but had the yellow orange belly like a gill....... i have tried to catch one today but only managed to catch a couple crappie......but i will keep trying and will def get a pic on here with in a day or so....if the weather stays decent.......so check back in a day or so and i should have a pic...

    I looks kinda similar....but the fish i was catching had a very bright yellow orange belly and those distinct black crappie dots on it.....i am going today i'll try to get one and take a pic for ya....

    while fishing yesterday at the local city park pond....carondelet park.......the small lake if anyone is familiar.....but neway right about about 730 i could see some fishing raising and in small schools of 5 of so.....i casted a tinny crank at em and first caught a small crappie....then i managed to catch 4 or 5 of these crappie/bluegills.....these fish look exactly like a crappie but had the colors of a bluegill but also had the black dots on it like a normal crappie.....never have caught anything like em..anyone know what i am talking about...ill try to get a pic of one soon..

    this is bad news to myself also....I havent been down there in a couple years but before that went down with all the guys in my fam...we would rent out all those cabins on the lake ...i dunno if they are still there but....would not be happy to see the dam go..

    i have gone to gravois creek occasionally for a couple years now just to catch anything and waste sometime.......i have noticed there are some huge carp in this creek have not managed to catch them with numours tries..i think they become to scared to bite in the case of the creek being so narrow they can probably spot me as soon as a i come down the hill. just wondering if anyone has ever fished this creek before

    I have fished there a couple of times I also know how to get to the other two lakes you are talking about, I havent fished on those though just palmer. was actually there two weeks ago on a monday and in under 5 casts managed to catch this 23incher......................let me know how your day was tinner

    haha ya mine to, the lake does have alot of trash in some areas just stacked up on the bank. Most of that trash is put in the lake by that creek that runs in to it. but even with the nonedible fish its only 15 min from the house and is worth a shot when i have spare time.

    I have fished there maybe 3 or 4 times last summer and out of those times id say about only about 6 bass were caught but two of which were over 17 inch

    Didnt try fishing any rivers, but did fish today in potosi at this smaller lake I know about at managed to get a 23" fishing off the bank. . The lake wasnt up more than maybe 8 inches and was slightly stained still.

    nah sure didnt, It looked to be a little skinny for how long it was, u could tell it hasnt been doing much feeding lately. I wish i would have brought my scale down there with me but was unprepaired and left it at home.

    Didnt make it to the spring today, instead headed to potosi to this lake i know about and managed to catch a 23 inch largemouth in under 5 casts right off the bank . check her out...

    thanks for the report, I am glad to hear that atleast a couple are bitting, Im starting to think that going monday might not be as bad as i figured it was going to be.
