Had to make it out and catch some crappies!!! Due to the wind decided to fish channel edges on the bluffs. It's a lot easier to escape the wind fishing bluff's compared to fishing brush piles. Stayed on the edge of the channel 16-25 fow, working from the top of the channel down into it. All fish were hugging the bottom. They were sluggish, barely put the jig in their mouth and fairly slow. Ended up with a limit in four hours. A real mixed bag of fish, some just keepers, some solid and some big. Also caught 6-8 shorts, told them to eat a double portion of shad every day and I'll see them again next year!!!! Worked a jig just off bottom. Color was odd today, put one on and catch a few. Change color and catch a few more, etc... White pepper, Lime glow chart, glow chart, orange pepper, blue shad blue, blue silver, green silver. Hope you get out and catch a few before the end of the year. Brad

Made it out again yesterday. The same story, however did catch some in shallower brush 11 fow 5' down. It took four hours to bag two limits this time. Brad

It's been a while, a long while, it was nearly unbearable so I headed out this morning. Two of us started fishing at 8 and quit at 11. The results?? Two limits of very nice crappie, 28 fo the 30 were over 10". The bite was real good, surprised by the fact a front came through last night bringing us some rain. Fished main lake brush18-35 fow, 14-30 feet deep. All fish were caught on jigs - white, blue, smoke, magic minnow, black/chart. The water temp was 51 and water was pretty clear. Take advantage fo the nice weather this week! Go get 'em. Brad

The water and weather have been slowly cooling off - of course that means the fishing is getting hotter!!! Fished three times in the last five days and it just gets better each time. Here's the scoop. Brush piles - you can fill your livewell in a very quick fashion, especially if you hit the right pile. When you lock on to a good one you will have your limit as fast as you can set the hook, reel them in and get back after it! Fishing brush verticle in 10-30 feet of water, the fish have been down in the brush. Use a small hook (I like a #4 for brush) and drop it down until you feel the brush. Trees - both deep and shallow trees are holding fish. They have been anywhere from 2' deep to 20' deep. Pitching to the tree or vertical jig - does not matter. When you feel the bump set the hook! We've been catching our limits in just a couple of hours. Sometimes they are big, but when you enter a tourney they are just good eaters. Lots of fun! Also have been catching several 8" fish, looks good for the future. Jig color - doesn't matter - white, blue, chart. smoke, green, pink. Good luck!!! Brad

Crappie are great on brush and the trees. I've been fishing brush like Scott said, and trees in 12-25 feet of water about 10 feet down. The bite has been real lite and you really have to pay attention. Good luck! Brad

Tough one - there was a small campground and bait store just before you get to Bolivar landing. Unfortunatley I normally put in down J hwy and motor that way, not sure if they are still open or not. I don't know of any other place, hope someone else comes up with something. Brad

Great job! I went camping this weekend, was going to post but I think you have it covered. Same story as yours. Brad

It's been a long while! Took some much needed vacation and when I returned my work was so piled up I didn't get anything else accomplished. Finally made it out on Saturday, ended up with my limit but had to work for it. It was just one fish here and one there, no pattern, no reason - really scattered. Fished both brush and trees, caught a few on both. Fished both shallow and deep, caught a few both. All fish were caught on jigs - 1/8th oz, color: Blue ice (best), disco, blue/chart, white pepper. With the weather cooling down it should pick up some. Good luck! Brad

Great job! I noticed Saturday some spots were just ok, then the next spot was lights out - it's a blast when you get on a good spot or two. Brad

Great news - my boat is fixed and I'm back on the water!!!!!!!!!!! It's been a while since I've had my boat to fish out of, never the same going with other people. Took the boat out today for a test run to make sure all was well, all I can say is WOW! She runs like a top. Crappie were biting great. Fished both trees and brush, the crappie were 8-10' deep and wanted the jig on the move. Decided to try a few new spots, some didn't work too well but found one brush pile that was loaded - we killed them there for a long time. Fished jig, needed a moving tail (used tripple ripple swimmer shad); Color: blue, pink, black/chart, salt and pepper, blue/chart, glow chart. Brad

I thought that might be the case, however there isn't much water in the bushes right now. Guess it doesn't matter much, however the fishing is hot right now!!!! Brad

MO Panfisher, I've noticed they turned the water off on Pomme a couple of days ago, it's at 50, which I think is normal when not running water. I also noticed the three day forecast is not running any water. Just curious, why is the corps holding the lake at 841? I was hoping to see it back at normal pool soon. Thanks, Brad

Had the opportunity to get on the water today for a little while. Still don't have my boat back yet but a buddy was wanting to catch some specks, he charged his trolling motor batteries and we took off early. Three of us caught our limits in about four hours, also caught 4 to 5 shorts for every keeper. Not many bigs today, most were just eaters. Started on brush piles, cast, count down and reel back. They were 8-12 feet down in 15-25 fow. Tried to fish a few trees as well, did well on the ones we could find, still need the water to drop another foot or two. Best color was a light pink, but also did well on blue, anything with chart, white, shad. Great day to be on the water, left early when the boat traffic started to pick up. Fished way up the Lindley to try to stay away from as much traffic as possible. It was great to be back on the water, hadn't been since the last tourney. Good luck and be careful this weekend. Brad

I have fished it often in the past - great for crappie and bass. When bass fishing I mostly concentrate on the secondary points - cranks, jigs, senko's, tubes. Great place with some big fish - spend some time in there and you will come to appreciatae it. Brad
-
Don't know water temp, someone else boat and equipment - sorry. We fished all the down down the Pomme arm to all the way down the Lindley. Lindley was very dirty, lower end of Pomme clean, upper end of Pomme looked fairly clean. Brad

Haven't been much - boat broke down and in the shop Fished a crappie tournament Saturday with a buddy - bite was very good, crappie were over the top of brush in 16-24 fow. We kept 30 crappie and caught a ton of little ones, we also had some decent fish but it didn't show in the tournament. We used jigs, any color worked but pink was the most productive. Brad
