  1. You can also buy them at the gas station at Nemo. Brad
  2. The money collected by MDC for game/fish violations goes to the county in which it was collected. I was always under the impression it went to MDC but it doesn't. Financially the MDC gains nothing from handing out tickets. I try my best to never break any of the game laws, I don't always agree with some of them but always try to abide by them. I always welcome an agent to check me while I fish or hunt. If you are legal and doing what you are suppose to then you can have a good visit with them. Being on the right side of the agent can really work to your advantage. They have a very unthankful job. I understand their job is to enforce the law so you and I can have plenty of game/fish to go after in the future. It sounds like it was a sad situation. I love to fish below the dam and nearly every trip see people down there doing something they are not suppose to. It is difficult to convey to them the law without them getting bent out of shape. Taney is such a wonderful fishery and a beautiful place. What most don't understand is if you don't throw the 16" fish back you will never catch a 20". If you don't throw the 20" back you won't catch a 25-30". Brad
  3. How did the tourney turn out? Brad
  4. On Truman the current generally helps the bite. Normally I vertical jig cedars and standing timber on Truman, for this method I prefer 1/8th ounce jig head. However as long as current isn't real strong any size should work. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Brad
  5. The crappie are starting to move to the winter pattern. Find cedars and fish 10' down to the bottom using black/chart jigs and blue/white. Trees on the ledges are the best. The guys that have been lately have loaded the boat with their limits in 1-2 hrs. Brad
  6. Anyone heard more about the work on the dam? After reading the article in the Hermitage Index I was left with the impression they were going to leave the lake at normal pool, however since then I've heard they would lower it seven feet below normal pool. Anyone know what's up? The lake is currently nine feet high, if they are going to get it seven feet low they have a lot of water to move before Nov. Brad

  9. Vince, Congrats and good job. Keep up the reports! Brad
  10. Crappie fishing was spotty. It would be slow for a little while and then bam hit a tree and pull off several keepers. Very few small fish, most were great size. Fishing standing timber 15-25' of water 10-22' down. Minnows or jigs, both produced fish. You should be able to catch several and put a mess together but will need to stay on the move. Good luck and great fishing! Brad
  11. Crankbaits - I love the Bandit 200 & 300 series, Bomber fat free shad and Normans are all great! Just look for color patterns suited for Pomme, anything with some chart color is great. Brad
  12. Chris, I didn't fish for bass any this weekend, just focused on crappie. However I saw some guys catch several keepers on crankbaits. With the water cooling down I would think the crankbait and spinnerbait bite should start. Good luck and let us know how you do. Brad
  13. There have been several tournaments on Thursady night this year, they are open to all. However they are finished for the year. They ran from April through August, a blast to fish and you should consider them next year. There is also a Friday night series out of the State Park. Brad

  24. Welcome to the site. Most the walleye I've caught have been by accident. Won't be able to help you out, but Stockton is a great lake for crappie, walleye and bass. I'm sure there will be a few you can help you with your quest for some eyes. Good luck. Brad
  25. I've heard the rumors as well. Hope this doesn't mess things up. Brad
