    I have a 8 wt fly rod that was given to me . It is 8ft long, fiberglass. Does it have to have 8 wt line? If not, what line would you recommend? Thanks.

    Is any body catching any crappie on Bull Shoals? How do you tell them apart from a bait ball? I am seeing lots of bait this year.

    I was at Elbow today and got my feet wet. I turned around at the road to 'elbow ranch, very rocky. knocked the pin off my trailer for the motor rest. Too many skiers there now. Will wait till the holiday is over. Good Luck!!

    if you go to elbow, you will get your feet wet,also you will have to turn around and back down the hill for about 100 yrds. it is still shallow putting in off the road.

    I usually use Power Pro, but went to the bp store in Branson and they didn't have the right size spool for me. Instead I bought some Stren in 10 lb. I use a improved clinch knot on both of them and havent had any problems.just be sure to wet the knot before you pull it tight. I solved the hookset problem by using rods with fast tips. the fish hook themselves before they feel the rod pressure. I fish right in the brush and trees about 20 to 30 ft deep, trolling cranks. have only lost 2 lures with this line. caught 3 eyes and lots of lmbass.

    drain the foot and add new oil. that will keep it from frezing. use a good fuel additive like Sea Foam.do your regular tune up now if it is due.

    when i bought mine at BS, they tried to sell me a mount for the trolling motor. you might check their web site and see if they have one for your model.

    does any one have the Nav chip for BS? if so how much of the lake does it cover and are you happy with it? thanks

    the trolling motor and the transducer are probably too close together. my997c has to have 15 inches from any motor.

    I have a hummingbird 997c. it is the greatest locator i have ever seen. hummingbird has several smaller models that do basicly the same thing, at a lower cost.

    one trick with a bait caster. set the center knob to just let the weight you are using slowly fall and cast with the handles up. this has reduced my overruns greatly.

    Capt. Don you were right about the line. apparently Hummingbird didnt catch it when I told them. They told me to exchange it at BP where I got it. Now I have another new one. The other one was only 2 weeks old. Live and Learn Huh!

    The fair barn at Shadow Rock park, Forsyth is completely under water. Only the roof vent turbins showing. Going to park my boat in the yard for awhile. Lots of Honey Does to catch up on. Praying for every one in the waters way.

    I installed a 997c on my boat. Does wonders that I would of only dreamed of. I have one question though. There is a black, broken line about the five foot line. It is there even in the sim mode. Has anyone else had this happen? Any help is apprecitated.

    I spend a lot of money on fishing tackle, fishing baits, fishing boats and motors, fish finders. All else is wasted!!

    has anyone tried planer boards on bull shoals? if you have what were the results. thought i would try them if the water ever gits down.

    why not something that uses moon phase, baromiter, water temp, fish species, time of year and the lake you are on?
