  1. I was wondering what everyone was fishing in that cove. If there are rules against fishing around the docks they are not enforced. I was there two weeks ago and last weekend. There were probably 20 boats in there each time fishing.
  2. I was fishing a tournament Saturday and Sunday. The lake was very rough. Talked to a ranger yesterday and they found the life vests next to/inside the capsized boat. Sunday was very rough as well so searching by water was very tough. I did see the helicopter searching but as far as I know they didn't find either of them yet.
  3. Topwater: Super Spook Jr, Spit'n Image Jerkbait: LC Pointer, LC Pointer Jig: Pigsticker Scrawler, Eakins
  4. I used to be a big fan of bps flouro, until last year. I must have got some bad spools or something. Never broke so many fish off on hook sets in my life. Now I use Seaguar and have not had any issues of yet. I have also tried Vicious and did not have any problems, but I have read a bunch of bad reviews so I stayed away. Your probably going to get a mix of opinions here. I would pick two or three brands and see what works for you.
  5. Found a post on another site by Mike Eutsler. He said Ralph is ill and that is why the tournament was cancelled. It also said that they will reschedule if they can work it in.

    Boat Ramps

Thanks for the info. Looks like Honey Creek is going to work out the best for us. Apparently there is a fiddle festival that weekend so finding a hotel was interesting...Hope those fiddlers are not too tough of a crowd

    Boat Ramps

I will be down for the big bass bash in June and am looking for places to launch other then martin's landing. I am thinking of staying in one of the hotels off 59(Hickory Inn, if i can get a room). I have only stayed at martins in the past, I imagine there are ramps over there but can someone recommend one? Thanks for any help!

    Truman Lake

That sounds like a great day! Has any noticed that number of ky's that truman has had in the past few years? This past year my best largemouth spot was taken over by ky's. Makes catching numbers of fish fun but all the ky's were 13 inches...
  9. Looks like there is some cost up front but I still want to do this. To save money I may not go the powder paint method just yet. Thanks for the info!
  10. I am looking to start making my own jig heads. What are your favorite molds for making a jig head to swim a grub with? Shakey heads? I was looking at the do-it molds from bps, any thoughts on these? Also what type of paint do you recommend?
  11. I saw him all weekend up in the James. I remember seeing the wildlife area on the gps, i think its a little bit past Wooley creek. He out ran his camera boat on Sunday as well. He blew past then we saw him a few minutes later when he came back to find the camera boat. I guess they can't fish without the camera boat.... Does anyone know why they had an observer boat following them on Saturday? It was kind of funny seeing these wrapped boats just follow the guys around, there wasn't a camera man in any of the boats I saw.
  12. David Walker just weighed in 26-11!!!! WOW!
  13. You can find the angler list here, http://flw.flwoutdoors.com/tournament.cfm?...&t=pairings I don't think they have pictures of everyones boats. I think they just added the ability to upload your own pictures to your profile this year.
  14. I have a bps brand one(i think its actually made by mustang though). Best investment I ever made. Great in the summer and much easier to get one when wearing a lot of clothes in the winter. Like the others I put it away when I see rain coming though. I have heard stories of them going off on people during a rain storm. If you haven't bought one yet make sure to get one with a neoprene neck line. One of mine does not have it and it will rub your neck raw during the summer, especially if you have a sunburn. I can wear the one with a neoprene neck all day with no issue though.
  15. If I am fishing a tournament, I'll respool the night before the first day. Then I'll use that line for the weekend and respool after the practice of the next tournament. If I am just out fun fishing I won't respool for a few trips. You can extend the life of your line by using a line conditioner like kvd line and lure conditioner. It will help protect the line from sun damage and prevent a lot of the line memory. Just make sure to apply it to the line as you spool it. Spray it on a rag and run the line through it. After each day I also spray some on the reel.
