  1. Can't seem to find anything stating that it is illegal to fire a non-concealable weapon within the city of Ozark. I have a bunch of turkeys that I can hunt if it is not illegal to do so. Can anyone send me a link that I can print or see that shows whether this is legal or illegal? It's actually for my son's first bird....his sister got one opening morning of youth and I thought I'd try to get him one so he wouldn't feel let down. Refuse to hunt public property......have private but it is off limits due to the owner having company in this weekend to hunt. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone, Chris
  2. Not trying to spam, but the images of the Vision 110's have been updated showing a color chart. Noticed that these were (I think) $34 at Fin and Feather if I remember right(don't hold me to that and not trying to bash them either---they are great guys)......here's the fetch for you guys that may be interested. Btw, great paint jobs....you have a true talent. And the guys are right, you should solicit your services to some of the pros. I know I talked to a guy yesterday that bought 20 of the MegaBass baits and was having several custom painted.....so, the pro's will pay the money for great paint jobs....been proven over and over again. Sportsman's Factory Outlet
  3. So everyone knows----the MegaBass baits that are in stock are brand new in package suspending(slow float) Vision 110's. And if you are local and want to pick them up, you can. Just need to make sure to let them know---not everyone wants to buy 3 ya know.
  4. So what's everyone's take on where the water levels are gonna be day in and day out now? Anyone hearing any rumors out there? I had heard plans were to keep it as low as possible to do construction. Anyone else heard otherwise?
  5. Yep, I'm here too.....
  6. Was down there that evening when they were running 4 units....landed a 26" brown with an almost 16" girth off a dock down there. Nightcrawlers were banging the fish QUICKLY! Big rainbows and that Brown was accompanied by another brown of greater size....so, the fishing was spectacular that evening....died completely when they shut it off as the fog rolled in.
  7. Thanks Amp....like I was saying, just trying to figure them out. If I luck up on a keeper while bass fishing I will usually keep it since the kids love it, and well, it's about the only freshwater fish that I like myself. Went back out yesterday and trolled for a while, caught one largemouth off the point by the dam....guess it just gives me something else to learn about more than anything.
  8. At $25 to use a ramp that my bills pay for anyway---You can practice all the catch and release you want....I'll release what I won't eat....at least until I figure out the trick for the lake on them.....then I'll do more catch and release.
  9. So, lots of difference in fishing between Saturday and Sunday.....went out for a few bass but got to catching walleye on grubs....brought home two good keepers on Saturday and caught several bass as well. Today....2 bass and a bluegill.....couldn't find the walleye anywhere but I'm a bass fisherman anyway...so, any of you "eye" chasers out there that would be kind enough to PM me some tips on catching them at Fellows, I'd greatly appreciate it. It will give me something to figure out!
  10. Check your PM's for some tips for that area.
  11. It would be to your left(Upstream)...and it's further than you'd probably want to walk if you go that way. You can park at the entrace to the trail on 215 and walk in that way...never been in from the other side, so I'll have to leave it up to the other guys for that one....but it ain't far from where I've been catching em. Might try to get out there this afternoon or Saturday afternoon after Turkey Hunting.....we'll see though....
  12. You need to get up to the places with current.....fish the current breaks....I've caught several on the East side of Taylor by the creek but nothing like the other places we've found that have current....with this rain, should make it interesting....
  13. Got there at 12:45ish, couldn't fish long....headed up river from Taylor....24 fish before I had to leave to leave to get the kids.....they are still up there....so are the snakes though...be careful what you tie off to!
  14. Caught a limit of good fish above Taylor before the storm hit. Had just got the boat out of the water when it started to hail. Even caught a walleye and saw several other walleye caught(no keepers0. So, they are there....just got to find them. All of mine came from one spot of slack water. Snakes are out too now so you guys walking the bank watch what you are stepping on!
  15. You are not supposed to at all. I have seen people do it, but wouldn't do it myself. As to the reports....I agree with what all has been said, but I have found that going upstream past the bridges and into the fallen timber area yield some NICE bass on jigs and soft plastic. I ALWAYS run up there, especially late into the evenings and make sure to fish the flats by the bridge there on my way out before it gets too dark with a topwater. I've caught several LM over 3 lbs and up to about 5 lbs up there. I've also done the same in the open area in front of the viewing blind by slow rolling spinnerbaits and bumping the stumps/brush down there.
  16. How long of a float is that anyway Tracman? I've debated it several times, but never attempted it. Does the water need to be up like it has been this year to do it? Thanks for any info. CP
  17. I grew up on the TN river at Pickwick Dam and fished for Hybrids all the time. Our main choices were 4-6" Sassy Shads on a jig head carolina rigged with a 1-2oz sinker. The color choice was almost always white and we'd dip the tails in chartreuse. We were allowed to pull all the way up to the dam and tie off if we wanted to since it was a lock as well, they couldn't prevent you from doing so. Most of the time though, we'd pull up, drop the bait and drift back downstream letting the 2oz weight bounce bottom. Below Bagnell, I would say that a fella could do the same thing. We are talking about 10-20lb fish average back home....not sure about up there. We'd catch the 4-6 lb fish too on the same rig. If you don't do that, catch some shad, put a circle hook on it, carolina rig it, and do the same thing.....you never know if it is going to be a monster cat or a big hybrid! Now when the hybrids starting busting topwater.....it was 6" Silver/Black or White/Red Head Pencil Poppers or a popper cork with a huge saltwater fly(gray or white streamer). You'd pop the cork and keep it on a steady retrieve and they'd slam that fly like a champ! Good times!
  18. Just picked up a 9.9. Thanks guys. I know there was one or two of you interested in the 18. I'll get you some pics if you will send me your e-mails, or I'll just meet up with you somewhere if you are in the Springfield area.
  19. So, does anyone know of a small engine repair guy or marine shop that has any used motors around the Springfield/Branson/Lebanon/Bolivar area? The guy that had the 7.5 said he was going to adjust something on the motor and call me when it was ready over the weekend. Sunday evening I e-mail him and he says he sold it already. So, I'll state this again, for everyone here....have cash on hand.....also have an 18 HP if anyone is interested in a trade or will sell after other is purchased. Trade is not mandatory! Would like to have a working, clear titled motor by the weekend. Thanks for everyone's help, Chris
  20. Thanks guys.....the 18 just weighs too much....you wouldn't want to come off the throttle too quick or you'd likely sink the back end of the boat. Just flat out weighs too much. As to the long shaft....just can't make do with a long shaft...I'm a duck hunter too and a short shaft is a must to get to the places I go with the jon. As to the jon...just a plain jane 14' 36". BTW, still looking. Was supposed to hear back from a guy about a 7.5 but haven't yet.
  21. Hey guys....I'm looking for a 7.5-12 horse short shaft motor for my jon boat. I also have an 18 Horse that I would be willing to trade with to get the motor. The 18 horse has a clean title(should have the new one in about 10 business days), and just needs some minor things done such as cleaning the carbs and setting the points. It is a 67 model Johnson for those interested. It is just a little heavier than I would like for the boat. Don't have to trade though guys, I'm willing to buy the other motor straight out if price is right. If you know of anything out there, send me a PM.....Thanks fellas! Tight Lines, Chris
  22. I'll take any kind..... did you happen to pay any attention to what kind of areas they were in? Or were all in flight? Anyone else seeing anything? I'll be up there all weekend......
  23. Hey, anyone been on the water lately? If so, anyone seeing any ducks using the gravel bars or any backwaters/slackwaters? I only get up there about 3 times a season and it's usually around the holidays...so any help would be appreciated. PM me if you have seen anything....thanks!
  24. FYI, been friends with the guys at SK for a while now....talked to them about your Timber Spins---they didn't have any hidden anywhere. They also said that they weren't sure that they could even make the bait anymore due to the machines changing so much over the years.....I checked for you though......good luck on the net....it's going to be the only place you'll get them...can't pull any strings on this one for you. CP
  25. if any of you run across a motor, 70's model or newer that falls in between a 7 horse and a 20 horse, let me know....I might want to take it off your hands. Need one to push a 14' jon and seems everyone already has motors on the boats they are trying to sell and don't want to seperate. If you got one laying around that needs some minor work, that might work out as well....just let me know what ya got! Thanks guys! CP
