The park was flooded this morning. Again. The water was several feet over the far side walk and flooded the parking in some places making impassable early in the morning until it went down. The water was suprising not muddy, but not clear. I would compare it to the lake of the ozarks in mid-summer on the Niangua Arm. My uncle and I did not catch a fish after trying many different lures. Two men across the stream from me (fishing just upstream of the spillway on the far side) were catching a lot of fish using dough bait in the current. We probably could have driven over there, shouldered our way in, and catch some fish, but by the time I realized that the fish were all congregating in that current along the bank there, we were about ready to call it quits. This was the worst trout fishing I have ever experienced. With only more rain to come it is probably not going to get any better, but if you do go, fish DEEP in current. I know people say the fish are sticking to slow moving water in eddy's, but I think that water is TOO warm and the fish like the cooler water in the current.
