  1. I've stayed at Lilly's Landing many times, but then I'm fishing for trout, but I'm interested in the Walleye below Powersite and where to stay at that end of the lake. I normally stay at Lilly's in December, fish with family, then go up to strip for xmas shopping, but I have also many years ago fished below Powersite for some nice fish also. Thanks for reply!
  2. I'd like to come and fish tail waters below Powersite. Wanted to see best time to catch Walleye, Crappie, or just about anything you can catch below dam when you cast out. Also wanted a place on Taneycoma to stay in area for access with easy drive down there. I appreciate it, I've been down there a few times, but would like to catch it right when good sport fish can be caught!
  3. I'll try to put some pictures on next week. Going to enjoy learning new depth finder. Can't think of better way than trolling, watching split screen with down imagining and sonar. I've used those fire tiger colored baits. Have some spoons. Will bass fish with arsenal of baits. Jerk bait bite might be off, but supposed to be cloudy next few day which should help.
  4. Yeah I just seen I didn't mention I was coming out of Pontiac Marina. Cating bass should be okay, but Walleye are a different breed. I know they like islands and flat rock areas. Caught them in Oakland area before. I just hope I don't get in way of Bassmasters or they don't get in my way trolling. Top Water should be hitting for bass which is a blast. Crappie should be better if I find them they should be together.
  5. I think K Dock is a little far away from Pontiac than I would ride. Thanks for the help anyway. I have a map and new depth finders with Gen 3 from Lowrance. I'll try like heck to find them.
  6. Heading down Wednesday with wife to fish out of new Skeeter. Have border lakes so can fish anywhere. New boat hasn't been out yet so break-in is no more than 2,000 rpm's 1st hour so what a better way than trolling learning gps and depth finder. Wondering if anybody had any suggestions for that area for the Walleye. Always in past trolled fire tiger shad rapps. New ways or area are welcome. I know Bassmaster tournament on Friday and Saturday. About 100 boats, but no where near as Big Bass Bash at LOZ with 2,400 boats. Thanks for help in advance. Looking forward to some good fishing and learning lowrance HDS-7 Gen 3 with side imagining. Little nervious with new boat as I'm going from 60hp to 200hp. Gradually do that as I will take it easy.
  7. He's the overall winner.
  8. Sorry for my lure chice in previous post of Buck lure, it was a Buckeye topwater lure in bone color. I was fishing a Mickey from Jackel lures the shorter one, and did catch my bigger fish Thursday, but no luck on Saturday with it. Changed to Buckeye and had some fun. Goes to show you to change and find out what fish wants.
  9. I caught a 6.45 on Thursday so left area go until Saturday. Fishing was hard as only bhad one spot about 15 and a half. Went to some other area by Schooner Creek and tried topwater again with no luck. Partner had small one hit his popper. Changed my topwater to this Buck Lure I believe a wake bait in bone color, picked up 2 keepers in 17 and a 17 and a half. Bunch of almost fish, then sun came out and killed that for while. Then with 30 left was in another area thru that bait by a stickup and got another 15. So turned in 4. Would have done better, but all partners fish were short.
  10. Its hard to believe that it has a wider wobble than a red-fin, but if you say so. I will be there tomorrow to try it out. Will be stopping by Bass Pro on way down. Hear a Pink Senko is also working. Another bait that is easy to throw. I like the green pumkin candy with green char dipped end. It might be a great week on Rock with rain and some clouds. Jim
  11. I heard about the buckeye wake bait here. Someone said it was easier to throw compared to red-fin. Thinking of wife in this regard. I have no problem with red-fin myself. Like it is stated here some work better out of box. Now question is it better to throw one Buckeye Wakebait on a spinning rod or baitcaster. What kind of test line I assume mono. Any advise on retrieve is appreciated. Jackall has some good ones out of box, but you'll pay more like this one.
  12. I just wanted to know if lake cleared up yet or is still muddy? Headed out there this weekend. Any info on bass fishing would be appreciated. I don't know how long it takes to clear up a lake, but we have had our share of rain. Went from spring to summer just like that. Thanks, Jim
  13. Thanks Don, things so far seem to be okay as motor started after pumped all water out. No water got in gas. * boats were sunk. 6 from our club. I heard a few are taking boats into shop for checking out. If I had a new boat I would probably to, but just glad to get stuff back from shore that floated out of my boat. We were in Aunts Creek arm. Wind actually came down from north as tail of Ike blew south. That's what was crazy. We have pictures to never forget. I think in future if Hurricane is coming north we will all definitely pull boats out. Thanks for all concerned, Jim
  14. I didn't know if anyone else had a problem with Hurricane Ike, but our club did. Sunday Morning about 1:30 we lost power at our cabin. Next thing I know wife is waking me to tell me what is going on. Tried to see down dock, but couldn't with all rain and wind coming. It looked scary. So decided to drive down and see. Came across guy from my club at about 3:00 and was told all the boats including mine were sunk down in water, but floating still in stall. Every boat with motor facing north was filled with water. Apparently Ike's tailwind came around and made big waves from north going south and flooded all boats on that side. They were going to move all boats on south side to north side Sat. evening as they thought storm was coming from south, but decided not to. Good thing they didn't. We all turned on bilge pump and let our boats start pumping water out. I had to try and hold back of boat up with hand so no more water went in from back of boat. Then when I could started using a bucket to get all the water out I could. Everybody ended up with no apparent problems as I was able to start boat to get on trailer. When I got home yesterday I took all my tackle down stair and dumped on floor to drw. Didn't was hooks rusting. Never seen anything like that here, Jim
  15. What color spinnerbait were you using? Is water clear or getting stained now as we move into fall. Fishing has to pick up now with cooling water, but we are going to have some cold fronts come thru this week making it harder to fish. Thanks, Jim-to-fish
