went down to conner this morning around 10:45 made one cast and hooked up 40lb sow and waited two hours for my brother to catch his which was a 30lb male saw 6 others caught in the 2 hours that we were down there and about 20 others were brought into the cleaning station while we were waiting on our fish talked to a guide that had six guys in his boat which they all caught one 3 males 3 females the females were caught in the lake around greys and the males were caught on the spring river side so i would say that the run is on and will still be going for the next few weeks i will be going down again in the morning

i dont see any difference in mounting a hatchery fed trout and a 30 lb striper caught down at bull shoals or anywhere else you still have to find a bait that they will eay you still have to land the fish and it is just as fun granted when i was younger i always did want the patches i have caught a few lunkers in my life and i just caught my first one over 7 lbs and i am going to have it mounted but i am not worried about the patches and i am not ashamed of catching and mounting a HATCHERY FED TROUT

Ithink it is going to be very busy on the water this weekend not only is the masters tourney going on but i am hearing of another tourney that is launching from trout hollow that is going to have about 10 - 20 boats in it so i think it is going to be alot of fun on the water

i hear ya there i am in the land surveying business and we are having a little trouble finding jobs ourself but as tim said above if the state is doing the construction then it may take awhile
-
thanks tim what do you think about the move is it going to make it better and is it true about the high end rooms that they are going to be building in the old ccc lodge depends on what kind of conctruction they do if it is just going to be a single story steel building with insulation they can have it up in a matter of weeks but if they try and stay with the same loook as the rest of the park you are right they won't have itdone for months
-
i was wondering if anyone has been down to see the how the new lodge and tackle shop was coming along or if they were still going to have it done by the first of march
-
tim i will be leaving work here in a few minutes from joplin and will be stoping by your shop plan on fishing a little this afternoon after i get settled in to camp
