I have been trying to purchase a annual boat launch pass for several months but no one is ever at the entrance booth. I have been told that you can order one online from the Corp of Engineers. I can't find anything about the pass on their web page. Does anyone know what the webpage is that I can order one?

My home town is in that part of Northern AR where Supreme and Shawnee boats are made. Supreme is cadillac of fiberglass jon boats in that area. Most the guides on the White River run a Supreme boat. Supreme is basically a modern version of the Shawnee. They have the walk through live well and several dry storage boxes. It is a little wider than the Shawnee which gives you a lot more room in the boat. Supreme has a completely flat bottom vs the Shawnee that has the 2 support boards that run from the front to back on the floor of the boat. Shanee has been using basically the same mold for there boats for years and has not ever updated there body style. Shawnee is a good boat that is a lot less expensive than the Supreme. I think a new Supreme boat and trailer runs around $5,000-7,000. My Shawnee works fine but it would be nice to have more room and the built in dry storage boxes.

Looking to float the upper end of the river on July 1 and 2nd. We will float from Ponca - Kyles Landing or Pruitt - Mtn Hershey depending on the water level. Does anyone know how the fishing has been this year on that end of the river?

I floated from Delaware down to Hootentown on Saturday and the fishing was extremely slow. We caught a total of 3 fish. All on crank baits. We saw several large catfish roll at the top and about 7 snakes. Spent part of the trip rescueing a couple families that had lost their canoes.

Normally I would totally agee with you, but an outfitter told me that people are normally going 8 miles in 3 hrs. She also told me she had a lady do it 2 hrs and stopped for lunch. A friend of mine was on the Current river about 2 weeks ago and he said it was running about twice as fast as normal. He floats it several times a year and said that was the easiest one he has ever done.

I have never heard the name of the cave but it is a cave that you walk about 15- 20 mins to get to the end and there is a pool at the end. Is this Merritt Rock cave?

Does anyone have GPS coordinates for the cave on the Current River? This is the cave on the right hand side that is about halfway between Pulltite and Round Springs.

On May 31st a few of my buddies are looking to take our 10 yrs old sons on a canoe float trip. We are wanting to give the boys plenty of play time and stop at the cave. With the current water conditions, do you think we could float that long of a trip in 2 days?
