Looks a heck of a lot better than the lead hooks that get caught on everything. What a mess in the dark trying to get decoys out. I'll tell you what was deadly when we went last January was two to five decoys tied every few feet on a single string about 20 foot long. It was tied to a long piece of bamboo depending on how deep the water is. They shoved that bamboo in the mud about 15 feet away and when ducks were circling over they would tug the crap out of that string making them look like feeders sending waves off of each decoy. I have never in my 15 years of duck hunting seen a reaction to decoys like that. Mojo mallard had nothing on this. Some times they would pull just slightly to get a little movement, but I'm telling you it was deadly. Oh yea, don't forget to clip it to someting in the blind or you will lose the string (heavy decoy line dark in color). If you use this let me know if it is successful for you as well. I love this time of year when you get blinds ready anticipating teal. I wish I had my lease out in Lamar, but with gas price not sure how much I would go this year.

I saw the picture and and thought maybe he was using children as the bait as large as the fish was. Turns out he was just imitating anaconda in the water.

JS Funny you mention being left out. I was just about to comment that most of us fall into one of the two categories of Fat Kids or Hillbillys. I just started running each day so I know which one I now fall into I guess that still leaves using powerbait. Better hurry up and get some so you won't be offended you were left out.

Sorry for your loss and I will dedicate my first trip with both kids on my boat this weekend to your mother. May the lord bless me this weekend with the charcter items you mentioned (mainly patience). I will see you saturday when on the water.

I'll be fishing tomorrow on Lower Taney. I will be taking two kids and the wife . And I thougth this was supposed to be enjoyable. Not exactly sure how I will tie all three hooks at once. About the time we are sunburned and I am hooked bad enough to need medical treatment we will call it a day. Any latest reports would be apprecitated so at least the kids might have fun. I am thinking night crawlers and powerbait off the bottom? Might also hit bull creek. Any reports down there?

Fannie and Freddie Mac were setup as part of many administrations (both democrat and republican) desire for everyone to live the American Dream of Home Ownership. They really are just an arm of the government subsidized so that many people who should have been renting (because they are pee poor money managers) could buy a home. There were actual incentives in place for those to make loans they probably knew couldn't be repaid. And then they stopped paying. And now another arm of big government needs to be bailed out by you, me and mostly the wealthy who actually believe it or not generate the economic growth necessary to fund all of the glorious government we now have. So the lesson is if you want something to fail hand it over to the government to run. Like banking, retirement funds (social security) and with any good luck health care so it can suck too. Just wait until everyone is covered and then it is rationed out like Europe and you can't even go see a Dr. Sounds great doesn't it? Better be careful with your votes lately people and not buy into the B.S. that politicians can fix things for you.

Don, Funny you mention that. I heard the same discussion with Big Oil companies a while back. Didn't seem to affect thier bottom lines or our price at the pump much. If something isn't done soon in America all of our assests will be foreign owned. China will have all of our latest technology and we will be nothing but a bunch of whiney losers with nobody to blame but ourselves. Also seems to me that a boycott of Chinese made goods has been going on by some families for quite a while. Folks when we are left with nothing but a boycott it is too late. Don hit it on the head weak dollar. Mostly caused by too much over spending (irregardless of party) by big government which of course we now need more of.

Browns, Browns Everywhere taking large baits is what has been reported to me. Lots of 18-22+ inches. Wish I was there every day!

His drafting usually sucks a big one and like it was mentioned previously his free agency signings seem to be of players in their vintage years not necessarily early years. Sounds like a bunch of displaced beer makers or good executives (this leaves out living Buschs) could take the opportunity to start up an American Beer company similar to American Lagers now offered under foreign ownership and enjoy a pretty solid market place. Anyone have any capital? I drink lots of beer but don't make any. I guess this is also any option. You can buy take home bottles of Springfield Brew Company Beer made right here in Springtown.

mosouthpaw: Why don't you address what I said and try not to follow my logic. Heck I'm not even sure I consulted my logic. If I did consult it I reckon it would say that fishing tournaments are not necessarily good for fish except as Gary points out the Conservation Department gets to piggy back and gather limited vitality information or probably lack thereof. I merely point out that fish riding around in a boat doing 70 mph while you fish half a day is not good for them irregardless of what measures are taken. Maybe someone can provide me data to the contrary showing me that fish actually thrive after riding around in a boat for 3-4 hours in a livewell. Like I said mosouthpaw why can't anyone come up with a way to document them immediatley then release them without a ride in the boat. I said nothing about banning fishing mosouthpaw.
