  1. Sounds like Jedi voodo. And the cost for a handheld GPS? Sounds like a pretty expensive investment.
  2. I guess it depends on how many shore lunches you eat. After the I had a endoscopy (stomach camera) at a cost of $1800, I'm pretty sure they can't afford to check your stomach for possession .
  3. Help this dumb country boy understand what the heck this is?
  4. At least with the most rain in a year I can remember we have also enjoyed the mildest summer temperatures I can remember. The last heat wave the only heat of the summer, or I would guess the situation would have been worse. Nice mild temperatures or an early fall would certainly help out.
  5. What a nice rig. If I wasn't expecting a baby in March and having to add on to my house I would jump on that like a hobo on a ham sandwich. Very good deal.

    Fried Okra

Can't go wrong with corn meal dusted fresh cut okra fried in a cast iron skillet and bacon grease.
  7. Very nice fish, especially with the guest in your company. Have you thrown a blue/orange belly rogue? My guide has been catching them down there on that. He has had poor days mixed in with good as well. Just the fish I guess.
  8. Let's just hope we are all correct on the Raiders games. I could care less about the rest of them. Nothing worse down here in Springfield than a Raider's fan armed with a Raider's win. Who's your team drew03cmc? Maybe we can predict them as well.
  9. If these Taneycomo farm fresh bows and browns don't really spawn and reproduce. Then why don't they partition the water off in sections like Roaring River with large boulders and establish more zones? Why is the darn area the only benefactor to slot limit. I rarely catch rainbows below fall creek above 15 inches.
  10. Here are my picks. Regular Season 09/07/08 at New England Patriots L 09/14/08 Oakland Raiders W 09/21/08 at Atlanta Falcons W 09/28/08 Denver Broncos W 10/05/08 at Carolina Panthers L 10/12/08 Bye 10/19/08 Tennessee Titans W 10/26/08 at New York Jets L 11/02/08 Tampa Bay Buccaneers L 11/09/08 at San Diego Chargers L 11/16/08 New Orleans Saints W 11/23/08 Buffalo Bills W 11/30/08 at Oakland Raiders W 12/07/08 at Denver Broncos W 12/14/08 San Diego Chargers W 12/21/08 Miami Dolphins W 12/28/08 at Cincinnati Bengals W 11- 5 Of course this is my 5 minute anaylsis. Good Pick Cardiac. Hope it is not 5-11.
  11. Yea, but didn't they lose every preseason game last year? This is starting out much better at least. drew03cmc: Why don't you go on record with that win/loss prediction so we can keep track this year.? I too will make mine and anyone else who feels like it and we can see who did the best.
  12. You fly fish don't you drew03cmc? Don't you appreciate the slot limit implemented to introduce catch and release below the dam. Didn't use to be that way. I could go down there and make a paste out of fish food and take home all of the hatchery stocked fish I wanted. Then so you guys could get a thrill out of bigger fish this limit was put in place. And I like fresh fried trout it is great.
  13. Beat those defense tough Chicago Bears and looked better than I expected. I know it's preseason and for the most part our 2nd and 3rd string looked better than their's but hey a win is a win. We also marched our starting offense down the field on their highly regarded defense. No passing tds for Croyle though.
  14. I don't think DNR approved development including proper stormwater retention and hooking up to sewer systems is the culprit behind "not the same lake." Try looking at the development prior to 25 years ago and their antiquated septic systems. I personally think anyone with a septic system around the lake is the problem and they have no reason to complain about the quaility of "their lake." With respect to the Zebra Mussels and motor oil. Isn't oil lighter than water and stays on top?
  15. Maybe they are trying to run you and me off the lake to have for themselves???
  16. Sounds a lot like killer bees and starlings. Something eventually you have to live with. Good luck with "public education". How about a stiff penalty ($500??) and "education" of that stiff penalty in the way of a bill of sale with each boat?
  17. To each their own. Someone else in our office bought two for two drafts people and both screens turned yellow/greenish and have stayed that way every since. They are set up at workstations using two monitors side by side and they look terrible compared with other brands right next to them. I would probably get rid of them if I had to work with them and by the way it is both of them not just one of them.
  18. Stay away from ACER, pure crap. I order all of them for our office and I hate the Dell Company but the monitors are good. If you buy Dell it is a given you will deal with their foreign customer service at some point. Given the right price I buy View Sconic or Samsung for all of our CAD Stations. Should be able to get nice wide monitor $200 +/- in these two brands.
  19. That looks like a LITTLE FOOT BIG BELLY. Very easy to confuse the two.

    Scam

Which dang Depot are you going to? Sure as hell ain't the one in Springfield But it is close to Hooters... so maybe I'll just go there. For the food you know.
  21. I'm just happy to hear a lower report I don't really know how to react. I think when time permits I will ask you more details about your jigs and such. Maybe tonight.
  22. Have you considered a drag chain in lieu of an anchor?
  23. Don't miss what I said earlier. Do you honestly think that "Backwoods Joe" sits down with each new wildlife code book and reads it cover to cover? And most of you have admitted most people consider a bass a bass irregardless of which kind of bass. Do you really think "Backwoods Joe" shows up for education day at his local Department of Conservation Learning Center. I am laughing as I write this. What I meant to convey earlier is that enforcement is education and the best education is an agent in the field informing the public which bass are which and what regulations are. Just not enough agents beating the streams in my opinion, but lots of money going into conservation.
  24. Thanks Bigfish. Wish I had caught em at least the big ones
  25. I agree with jscheetz. The enforement is the only component that effectivly protects fisheries. Unfortunatley the total budget of the Missouri Department of Conservation is roughly $130 million and after a bunch of beaucratic waste (new lawnmowers every few years, new vehicles every few years, etc) and aquiring more land (even though they can't enforce what they alreay have) they have $11 millon for "protection program" which also includes all of the "education of the public" so I'm not sure what actually ends up paying agents to enforce the code. So add all the code you want but they won't be able to enforce it. I'm sure someone on this forum will commend the wonderful job done by the Commission. More waste by one of the biggest arms of the State Government. But with a little more of our money (have you checked the cost of your permits latley and the sales tax they get, not cheap) they can do something about it.
