last year we found a fin, spook bite along with a gread day on the head in schooner. There will be some bed fish to mess with but might not be the main deal. Just want to get my string streched some. I"ll be in a black & silver 203 with a new opti 225 on the back stop and say hi.

Starting to count down days. Yet to be on the rock this year. Last year we worked over the cows and schooner had a blast even though it rained the whole weekend. First time I ever heard a weather man forcast torrential rains(spelled wrong)This year staying at indian hills(great place!) hoping for a bed fishing beat down, but with the weather we have been having they might go before we get there.

Man I hate wasting time and loosing baits. lol. Stayed at indian hills last year for 10 days really got to like that area. Good fishin and great place to stay! Can wait to get back, for now i have to live though you guys. Good luck.

Sam speaks the truth. My first couple of trips are more knocking the rust off. Should have got the champ wet over the weekend but got caught up on some outside house stuff.

I will second what Bill said I spent a week at indian hills with my wife last May. Jim gave us the grand tour. The place is Great and so are the people. We cant wait to go back.

What a great week for fishing, the weather could have been better(for my wife). We stayed at Indian Hills resort. Top notch cabins and people Jim and Becky are great! I had never fished that area of the lake so if was fun learning new water. Indian creek is a fishery by itself but I had look around and had a ball of the eight days on the water I will say I got the better of them, but the fish did beat me for a day and a half(just to let me know I am not that good). We got on the water around 3pm the first day and they were biting a shakey head on creek channel banks put 3 keeps in the boat with one being 4lbs. We worked our way back into the creek just scouting around found a great little bank that gave up 3 more keeps with a 5 lber in the mix on top what a way to start the trip! Sat morn got on the water early 5:05 with the fog trolled over to the long point by the resort. had several blow ups but was batting zero on hook ups. Left those fish and ran up to the flats just past 17 and wore them out on a spook 4 keeps all 3 lbers plus a bunch of 13 to 14 inchers. great morning! Sat eve was a shakey head night in little indian channel bank had 3 more keeps 16"er 3.5 lber and the big momma of the trip 6.25 lber! Sunday was a good day for top water early with a couple keeps on a spook and a Mikey and missed fish had two good jaws pull off and one heavey Kentuk pull off put a 4 lb in the boat with the head those all came from the cambell point area. Monday was a wash out for us so we dinged around the area wound up having wings and a burger at Ahoys. Tuesday was tough for us went looking for fish for the freezer (gills and goggel eyes) found a bunch of bait stealers and a couple of good ones we put 10 or so in the freezer. Wends the schoolers made my day but could not catch them on the head they were bitting funny for me. Thurs am just down from Cambell point was a great top water morning for me had three keeps on a Mikey and spook an had two heavy fish pull off and jumped off a 5 plus it was a great show but I wish I got her in the boat. Friday Claudia came out with me in the morning for some top water action (cold out) she caught one about 14" and jumped off a 3 lber on a finn the eve was a bust for me but we did find more gills during the day. Sat the last morn was frustrating and fun at the same time. Fished the Cambell point area and had schoolers all around but they would not hit my bait. I thought about leaving but calmed myself down and then put six in the boat in short order with three being keepers. All in all a great time for the week learned a little about a new area of the rock and met some great folks at the resort. Sorry for the long report. Bill J

Coming down tomorrow for the week staying in the Baxter area Indian Hills. Looking to catch some big blue gills for the freezer and some big bass for the fun. Are the green fish on top early and late and draggin a Dr. once the sun comes up FB Jig in play? Bluff ends for the topbite? Are they on the reverse migration out of the spawning areas? Any word on big gills or goggel eyes? Be out in a Black and silver champ 203 with 200 merc down till the 30th. Thanks for any help. Bill

We were out in it and at times we thought it could be 6' of rain . We had a good trip thanks for the help. Bill

Man what a wet weekend! All in all we had a good trip. Found out the boat does not get on plane will 40 gallons of water in it. We got down to the lake at about 9:30 Friday am made our first stop in Whites branch to see if we could locate some bedders to look at caught one off a bed but most were not as responsive as we would have liked. Spent the rest of the day in the cows and had a ball! Love the fin! Had a 4lb spot and a 3 lb jaw almost back to back then my parter went to work with a spook we had around 7or 8 keepers on top plus a bunch of shorts. Sat morn we started in mill and plucked a few quick then things go tough for us, back to the room at noon for dry shirts and regroup. Afternoon in the cows caught fish on the fin and a shakey head but much tougher than the day before. Headed to schooner and from 5:30 till dark wore them out all on a head. Had about 17 lbs in 2 hours, a mix of all species couple of 4 lb LM 3lb Spots and a fantastic jaw a little over 3 lbs, plus two that took us to the trees. All fish came from about 5 to 10 ft on a channel bank. Sunday am we were not the only one to find those fish per usual. the bite was still on doing the same thing as the eve before but the fish won more than the fisherman. wound up with 4 keeps and we broke 5 off, one being a STUD! I could do nothing with this fish, would have love to seen her, but oh well! All in all not the bed fishing beat down we were after, but a top water bite trumps lookin at em. And I am now a fan of the head. The fish on the rock are flat out awesome, just brutes, just awesome. See you guys in three weeks. Hope this info helps someone. My plan is working out knock on wood. coming down Friday for a lookin at em week end of fun. How clear is the water in the Cows to KC? Thanks for the report.
