When the water was in the 80's a month ago I went up there and had some luck in the weeds. But since they are dying, i would fish the brush around 15ft. Thats were we usually picked them up and the later in the day it got they moved up shallower. I've been told that crappie will run bait fish to the top of the water, but they won't break the surface of the water after them. They only make a little wake on the top of the water chasin them. But if the guys were cathin them in the middle of the lake like that, I would just try and fish a little deeper than what they were and see if you can't pick up the bigger ones. Wow, only being there for 17 mins is awesome. And thats great that the piece of property is managed like that, makes for great huntin and proved it. The shortest turkey hunt i've been on was about 30 mins in the middle of the day. Been seeing a couple in the same area this last week so when ever i get time im goin to try and go.

gobblergetter, were you fishing in the weeds or over brush piles? And nice bird. How long were you sittin there til he came in?

I shoot the first deer I see with my bow, that way i have meat in the freezer and it gets my confidence up. But when it comes to rifle season its a differnt story.

Mobass, What boat were you in? I was at Indian piont around that time, and I think it was me and my buddy you saw, but if it was we weren't throwing spinnerbaits.

Did anybody get one? I had to work but went and hung some more stands after work. Found a prime spot but somebody had been in there, that wasn't supposed to be and put up a game camera. And lets just say its gone now. Man I hate people like that. Good luck to all

Dont know what to tell you but the lands that i hunt on the tree, are full of acorns and just started dropping last week. Some of the land is in south central missouri and the others are in southwest. I dont know if the hard freeze in april had a lot to do with it because both pieces of land got it and they still have them everywhere.

Ya i know a guy that has a crossbow permit. The only thing he had to do was have a doctors note to get it.

I think gigging season opens up monday but i know that snagging season has been closed for awhile. To bad they didn't get caught. And as it goes for the green county agents i usually don't see them over there. Ive fished springfield lake alot and only been checked 1 time at the warm water outlet.

When you floating this weekend I woukd be sure and have your ID on you and your fishing licenses. The conservation department is goin to have people on the river this weekend looking for these things. So I wouldn't take any chances.

I'm headin down in the morning and was wondering if the water was up do to all the rain this weekend. Any body have any advice what to use? We'll be using fly rods and spin cast. Any advice is appricated. thanks guys and good luck fishing

Its there choice they can do whatever they want to do with it as long as its legal. I release bass but its just because i dont like the taste of them. But if its crappie, walleye, or white bass and they are legal they're goin in the livewell. Its each persons choice and let them do as they please.

Ive been seeing people on the oposite side of the dock fishing the last couple of weeks so i guess thats were they are catching them. The security guard told me that people have been catchin some real nice catfish from the bridge afterdark. I don't know whta side though. Good luck fishing

I always have luck on jigs with a little crawdad trailer. You will lose some but catch a bunch. Also raplas crawdad crankbaits and their little frog one to. Those catch a lot of goggle eye and some nice bass every now and then. Glood luck fishing

I would say fellows also. There are a bunch of crappie and bluegill and some nice cats too. I caught an eight pound blue cat a week ago there. I know its not that big but it was a good fight on 4 pound line. Good luck up there.

There are catfish in there and every now and then you catch one. For crappie the best spot would probably be the bridge but you dont catch any real nice ones. A 10 incher i would say would be a nice one. A couple of years ago you could go up there and catch a nice limit from under a light but now it seems to me that it is way over fished. cause you dont catch as many or any of good sizes. And for the trails that go down along the bank they are private property so its your own risk at getting caught.

Wow not a whole lot. I herd that there were a bunch of boats up at Cedar on Saturday night does anyone know how many ended up being in the tourny? I figured someone would have a nice limit.

Bigfish we could't go my buddys wife had somethin for him to do and didnt really want to fish it by myself. So when is the next one goin to be and we are goin to try and make it up there. Let me know how you did. Thanks good luck

Bigfish, I'm interested in the tournament. Wanted to know if you can drop lights and if you could keep more crappie than 15 and just wiegh your biggest ones in. Thanks

Ya they have. When I went three weeks ago they hadn't but as off last week they had. So they just did it a little while ago. Im goin in the moring so ill let you know what happens.
