  1. Indeed, welcome to the world of "conventional" fishing... Beware of the snobbery... Otherwise, welcome...
  2. Nah, that guys a goof... You sure he didn't sell you some cheap knock offs?
  3. Erm... You would be good to go if we could just erase yesterday... Daggum gauge at Windyville went from 3ft to 11ft yesterday! Honestly I'm surprised there wasn't flash flood warnings... It's back down to 6 ft now, but I dunno if it'll be back down to 3 or less by Saturday... (optimal floating is between 2 and 3 ft) http://waterdata.usgs.gov/mo/nwis/uv?site_no=06923250 Bennett is still okay, but it's up and murky too.... I'll try and make it down tomorrow to look at it...
  4. I figured as much... But I wouldn't call it an "issue", just the topic at hand. A word that children use when they don't wanna get swatted for cursing... Anyway....
  5. Chambug, I think you are reading Larry's post wrong. I don't think he posted "stock up now" as a way to help the Japanese people in their plight.. I think he posted stock up now "or tomorrow you may not be able to buy your favorite (Japanese made) lure anymore"... Just clarifyin'... Oh and: Agreed completely, my good man... Oh, puh-leeeeeze... Come off it, you sound like some kinda elitist dillhole when you say it like that.. Try "There's something magical about fishing with a fly rod that you just don't get until you experience it" or "you guys just dot know what your missing!" Just sayin'....
  6. Definitely wicked.....
  7. Exactly....
  8. Introducing your wife to your mistress (fishing) is always a tricky proposition.. Congrats on that working out for ya! Seriously, Welcome to the forum...
  9. Okay, now I am... lol Aaaaaaaarrrgh!! I shoulda listened.....
  10. I'm not giggling like a ninny right now... Swear I'm not...
  11. This exact method is what I use when bait fishing the Niangua.. Honestly I can catch as many fish with marshmallows or bread balls as I can with minnows or worms... When small creek fishing for big smallies I like to use a live minnow and a circle hook.... More like sight fishing, really.. Here's what you end up with:
  12. What's with the clearance prices, Eric? Hot merchandise? Just kiddin', of course...
  13. Nice fishies....
  14. Your left leg, maybe... (You know I love ya, FS!!)
  15. That's a sweet deal, if I wasn't such a fatty I'd scoop em up... Speakin' of chunky, Who are you sellin' em for?
  16. Sounds AWEFUL political to me....
  17. Who?
  18. If I actually have to tell them about a hole that friggin' pretty and fishy lookin' then there prolly ain't no help for 'em.....
  19. Agreed, but I'll step next door and ask the conservation agent in the morning...
  20. Assuming the river is back down to a decent stage, you'd wanna use leeches or Woolie buggers, or a caddis larvae imitation, like a brassie.. Dark green works best.. Egg patterns would be another fly suggestion.. Whatever it is you fish with, bring along plenty of shot to get it close to the bottom.. Where? Call me at 417-718-8666 with your itenerary and I'll outline a few landmarks to watch for... Dinner in the area? I'd suggest Sand Springs Diner, Circle J or Ollies.. (listed in order of proximity, not favorability)
  21. "A laurel and hearty welcome to our new........ Bobbie?" Welcome!
  22. Classic!!! lol Thanks... I would, but this is a family forum...
