  1. I fish very small streams and frankly I don't really target 20 inc fish necessarily... If I did and I used a larger rod and heavier line, most of my catches (8-14 inch bass) would just get drug in on the top on my heavy line. It's like fishing the Niangua with big rapalas for big trout.. Yes, if you hook one you'll have a much easier fight, but meantime your dragging in stockers left and right accross the surface and that gets a bit boring. 4lb p-line has been doing a great job for me on an UL.. But then again I may be "willfully ignorant" and am just enjoying my good time either way.
  2. I keep getting told to "go fishing". I just wanted to post this so those who have ears can hear it (so to speak): With today's available technology I can check up on the forum WHILE I'm fishing. I can post threads AND photos from the field. So quit trying to shut me up by telling me to "go fishing". If you don't like the topic at hand or what I have to say, don't click on it or simply click that cute lil "ignore" button next to my posts!! Ya bossy jerk. That is all, carry on.
  3. Well I got a couple of those too...
  4. The fishin's that bad, eh?
  5. Any interest in replacing it with a 2004? I've got one on the lot...
  6. Sure as heck wasn't me!! I go for quantity, not quality.. (a lesson my daddy taught me, though I think in hindsight he wasnt talkin bout da feesh)
  7. That's funny, she told me that too!
  8. Surely, if there is a separate record for streams, someone on this forum has held it at some point.. We've got a whole gaggle of fellas who routinely stick record class fish, I'm told..
  9. So you aren't interested in purchasing this Chuck Woolery Moto-Chug I just picked up? I was thinking of finding four more and attaching them to an A-rig...
  10. Hey, this is a family forum, old timer!! (But they do have a pill now, ya know...)
  11. 1. 20>1 2. Short float
  12. With a cute lil asterisk next to it... All over a $12 fishing license.. What a goof...
  13. Yup , that way I could laugh at him to his face for his misfortune. What a maroon.
  14. Nah, a 16 ft John is awesome for solo trips.. the only reason I need two people is for the shuttle and the conversation... And only one of those is required!
  15. Yeah, like a fungus.. lol (he's only sayin that cause I am willing to work the oars)
  16. And somehow you managed to end up with a Ford Focus?
  17. From the article referenced above: "They (the public) can’t establish themselves on the shore; they can’t park their cars on our land. They can still walk up the river. Those are our rocks, they can’t sit on those rocks. They can walk in the river all the way to the dam. But we do own the dam." Uh-huh
  18. Well there should be a few more big browns out and about since they released all those smaller ones last year... They haven't been cleaned out, they were just few and far between since 2004 or so... I haven't stuck one over 3lbs in years, though I've come close... There's a theory that the MASSIVE ones are still around (10lb + fish) but you don't see em cause they stay deep. I don't buy that, I think the giggers have stuck most of em. What they missed the catch and keep crowd has taken.
  19. Oh I told him, but you know these old timers don't listen for squat...
  20. That's funny, I'd love to see an 11 (or 81) year old cast that thing...
  21. I'm glad you posted this, I know a few guys who have been dying to try them... I'll let em know where the destination of their first camping trip of the year will be!!
  22. Lol, I was thinking the same thing... (that you've been called worse before)
  23. Man, my lil browns are growing up quick!!
