  1. Happy Festivus to you too, ya nutjob... Yeah, I was aware of that... Painfully aware.
  2. You can't "live trap" a game fish... Only bait. Well, they do write the tickets, you know.... And even the godless would agree that a carp isn't a Gamefish (as defined by the powers that be)
  3. I'm sure they'll all consider the source...
  4. I pick option 3 because, after all, you are a dolt. Congrats. Now, riddle me this: how does one go about gigging from a canoe or kayak?
  5. Just keep it on the big rivers, buddy...
  6. That much of a knee slapper, eh?
  7. Well, that confidence comes from knowing what the heck I'm talking about... You obviously didn't when you jumped into this conversation... And that is what? That you can gig/snag more fish from a jet boat than from a canoe or kayak? Okay, thanks.. Now go start a thread about it, the adults are trying to talk on this one...
  8. It's obvious you like to create your own definitions... For your edification: Here's the MDC link: http://mdc.mo.gov/about-us/regulations/regulations-and-permits-definitions "Grabbing: Snagging or attempting to snag a fish by means of a pole, line and hook manipulated by hand." Don't see anything about hemostats or chamberpots there... A set of hemostats/chamberpot/plastic bag/lunch lady hairnet is neither a pole, line or hook... While you're at it, might check into what MDC defines as a "gamefish": "Game Fish: Rock bass (goggle-eye), warmouth, northern pike, muskellunge, tiger muskie, muskie-pike hybrid, chain pickerel, grass pickerel, all species of catfish except bullheads, all species of black bass (largemouth, smallmouth and spotted), paddlefish (spoonbill), all species of crappie, white bass, yellow bass and striped bass, trout, walleye, sauger and shovelnose sturgeon." Oh, and your chamberpot/mason jar is totally illegal.. Here: "Fish traps, including slat and wire ones, may not be possessed on waters in Missouri or on adjacent banks. However, live-bait traps are allowed." Sounds like you're only allowed to use your chamberpot to catch the bait. Could you be any more wrong?
  9. I notice it says nothing about using a chamber pot, hemostats, hairnet or otherwise... I just called operation game thief and they concur, saying: "If it isnt defined as legal in the wildlife code, it is ILLEGAL!!"
  10. Indeed, it does. Feel like dislodging that corn cobb long enough to explain what the heck your problem is?
  11. WRONG! http://mdc.mo.gov/fishing/regulations/general-fishing-provisions/general-fishing-methods "It also is illegal to attempt to take fish by hand" But remember, that's not GOD talking, just the MDC. It's the only version of "catching" fish that doesn't involve tricking it/allowing it to spring a trap you set.. (my personal opinion is that it isn't very sporting, but that neither here nor there, as it pertains to this discussion) So, considering the topic of the thread, gigging/bowfishing is almost exclusively done from a johnboat or bigger, thus making it irrelevant to the discussion at hand.
  12. So I added a thought... Sue me.
  13. What are you blathering on about? Try "catching" a fish by any of those means in front of a conservation officer, see where it gets you... And again, what does anything related to gigging/bowfishing have to do with the topic at hand? Show of hands: Who here has ever successfully gigged/bowfished from a canoe or kayak? Dude....
  14. How could it be otherwise? Silly Tim....
  15. Just what is considered normal these days?
  16. Nope, just cut and paste....
  17. Indeed, your dictionary served you well... However, considering the discussion at hand (which type of watercraft helps you "catch more fish"), one would think it would be incumbent upon us to use the definitions of "catch" and "fish" as designated by the state/MDC/whatever... So tell me, good sir, can you "catch" a fish with a plastic bag? A pot? A pair of hemostats? Then I don't think you have much of a point... I don't.. I think if GM has the hots for Eric then he should just come out and say it! Okay, then do a little mental gymnastics and replace "fish" with frogs... On second thought, don't.. Gigging a frog is toooooootally different than gigging a fish! Which means your comments have no place in this discussion! I concur with Chiefs assessment at this point, reverend...
  18. Among other things....
  19. Okay, so then tell me... Do you "catch" more fish by gigging/bowfishing from a canoe, kayak or jetboat? That's what I thought.
  20. Al, saying that Al Gore invented the Internet is just a clever way of weeding out the total nincompoops.. (cause only a total baffoon would believe that!) Thank goodness for snopes though, I gotta tell ya...
  21. Those smart alleck MIT guys with their smarts and stuff.... I just know they're gonna come take my truck.... (jokes on them though, it ain't paid off yet!)
  22. Oooooorrrrrr......? Seriously though: 1. He brings it upon himself. 2. He's a big boy, he's welcome to pick back. C. If he's gonna go around quoting Eric in EVERY SINGLE POST HE MAKES (via his signature) then he should expect a bit of ribbing... (in other words: He started it! Neener neener..) Now, if you don't mind...
  23. I only wish, for your sake, that GotMuddy could come up with a post of that caliber... Oh, you totally meant to be rude... But you don't care, do you?
  24. Indeed, signature worthy by some standards...
  25. Totally what I thought too, but there was no telltale link in his signature... And he posted an actual pic in his avatar... Maybe he's foreign with a very poor translator?
