My Simms waders and Chota STL Plus boots seem to work well together. I like the quick lacing system. I know the laces won't last as long so I bought an extra set. The breathable Simms work well all year long. I've used them at Taney in January and February with extra layers and have been comfortable. Doesn't do anything for my hands though. ;-)
Hit the rebar yesterday morning with the water off. Had 39 to hand before the generation began at noon. Mostly on gray scuds and some on chamois san juan. Went above #2 and got a 19" rainbow that was fat. Went below #2 and got 3 more. Went up to #1 and could only get 1. Went up to the cable and switched to a jig on a ultra light and got one. Decided to pack it up and leave. Used a #16 bead head tan scud for the outlets. Switched to gray #20 but didn't get any better. Had a fun time. No browns.
Heard the water was off so headed down to the trophy area. Was a great day for fishing. Had over 50 to hand and lost about 25. Most caught on #20 gray scuds. Also caught them on possum scuds and brown scuds. Several caught on chamois san juan. Largest ones were about 17" and really fat. Smallest was a 9 incher. Most were around 14". All rainbows.
