  1. Thanks FlyGuy. Just got back from Fellows Lake AND cleaning 20 HUGE BLUEGILL. Talk to some other guys, as they were getting their boat out and they caught several walleye, crappie and catfish on minnows. Weather sure is nice now.
  2. Haven't hit Springfield Lake lately. Hit Fellows today after work again for 20 Blue Gill on red wigglers from the garden. Blew Jim's mind at the Marina. These were huge fish. He caught one the other day weighed over 1lb also. Today's catch was all bigger than the hand. I would think the Bass would be doing good at Springfield Lake right now. Find RSBRETH. He fishes it more than anyone I have talked to on this forum or typed to. My brother-n-law comes in from Colorado and we fish it at the end of may and first of June. Try Chartreuse Spinner baits with a Colorado spinner or a willow leaf spinner with the diamond cut for vibration. Put a plastic chartreuse bleeding trailer on too. Slow retrieve near the surface will be awesome. Also Craw-fish color jigs with plastic craw-fish. 1/4 JIG heads are perfect on Springfield lake. Good luck and safe fishing
  3. Those are definitely some beautiful fish. I tried walleye at a lake house bed and breakfast in Minnesota 2 years ago. I am from the south. Lots of southern folks prefer bass. Now that I have tasted walleye. Bass dont taste as good as them. Congratulations
  4. Went back out today after work in my boat. Kept 10 Nice Size Blue Gill and One Channel Cat that went about 3lbs. Caught all fish on earthworms from the garden. This warmer weather will start putting Blue Gill on to spawn. These fish I caught today were just as big as my hands. Just like last year we caught several channel cats while we got our Blue Gill and catfish limit total. I seen lots of Large Mouth Bass on their beds today. I dropped night crawlers right down in the middle of their beds and they would not even hit it. The water is definately clear. The grease is definately fixin to start popping too. Overall, it was great to get on the lake and away from work. Good luck and Safe Fishing
  5. Thanks to all you fellow fisherman and Bob Bennett. My old Boss and I put in at Aldrich and went up lake and fished the Right Shore line and bluffs. started with 4 doz shiners Sunday Morning. On that 4 Doz, we caught 75 crappie. 4 were between 13" and 15"...the rest look like 9 15/16" ..real close... most were really between the 9" and 9 15/16"...... He left at 1130am. I went south of Aldrich with a Dozen or so dead minnows and caught at least 25 more Crappie. I just tore the minnows in half and kept jiggling my cork. That seem to really pay off all morning and day. When I ran out of dead minnows. I put a yellow maribou jig on and caught 5 more keepers between 13 and 15". Wish I would have used jigs most of the day. The BIG CRAPPIE SEEM TO LIKE IT BETTER. We never stuck to one spot. We just kept the trolling motor on the #1 speed and kept those corks jiggling IN 3 FEET OF WATER and working the bank lines. My boss caught a 3lb large mouth bass when he dropped his line in for the first shot Sunday Morning. We caught several bass under the legal length on the minnows. Some Bass were hitting are corks. Again I really appreciate everyone else as well for your help this past weekend.
  6. I just spoke to Jason Dicky(Conservation Agent in Bolivar). Children who are 7 Years of age and under must wear A life vest at all times when in the boat. Everyone else must have a life vest with in their own reach while in boat. I think the State of Missouri needs to pass a new law for life vest. Everyone must wear their life vest while their vessel is in motion. Wet bike folks wear them while they are in motion.
  7. That is a terrible thing in deed. In most of the lakes in the Southern states, You get a ticket if you do not have your life vest on while youR vessel is in motion. I wish Missouri would pass a mandatory law that everyone on a boat with motor and in motion must all be wearing a life vest. More lives would indeed be saved. I know you can not put a price on a life. But I wish the manufacturers would drop the price on the automatic inflatable vest. They are not so bulky to wear during your whole fishing trip. More people would invest in these vest if they were more affordable. Just a few thoughts Good night everyone and Boat Safe.
  8. Is the Lap Top Waterproof. My boss just purchased a new i-phone. Pretty neat tools on the market everyday. Thanks for the report.
  9. Thanks Straw Hat and Rick, Just called them: Trading Post...530am-10:00pm...7 days a week Med size minnows 1.70 a dozen Square Deal....6.00am-? they answered phone at 9:57pm..so I guess they are open til 10pm Shiners 1.60 a dozen I really appreciate the info.

  11. where do you buy your minnows? How much are they. I live in Springfield and wood like to pick some up early before i head to Stockton Sunday. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
  12. The Bigger The Fish The BiggER THE FILLET Hope these rains are generous and not harming.
  13. Did you buy the minnows at Fellows lake and how much were they?
  14. Sprinfield News Paper......NEWS FLASH....MUST HEAD TO AUNT'S CREEK...WORLD RECORD BASS LIVE HERE.... Just kiddn Techo Sounds like the Upper James River Arm during the WHITE BASS RUN. My boat is just a 15' Flat Bottom. YA'LL got an extra parking spot
  15. Best thing to do now is just keep an eye out for something...maybe a piece of clothing...shoe...anything that catches your eye........and most of all keep them and their families in your prayers.
  16. Thanks again Hunter91. Hope the Rains dont get too bad.
  17. Bob you are so nice. If your computer does not get up and running. You could always call me or one of the other fellow fisherman and tell us what to type for you. If it was not for you and some others on here. I would not have such great success when I fish STOCKTON. Anyone can call my cell at 417-827-1558. I got clients that call me all the time when I am out fishing. They thank its pretty cool when I catch a fish during our conversation. Maybe they will come out with 3-D Monitors soon. One of the guys at my office is a photographer. He is purchasing a 3-D Camera soon. Then my Predator Fishing and Hunting Videos could be watched in 3-D some time. I am currently building a Library as of now. Good luck and safe fishing. CHARLES
  18. Ten fish would be cool. Then you could load up on other types of fish. But not too many that your back hurts from cleaning fish and cleaning up everything else when your done. But 10,,,that would be good. But if the length was increased. we would definately have bigger crappie. Last year I saw some people fishing off the band at Aldrich Bridge. They were on the opposite side of the water from the Boat Ramp. All the crappie they were keeping were well under the 10" mark. Is the limit different on the south side of Aldrich Bridge?
  19. I wouldn't have a problem with it. I dont know about the locals or the rest of the fisherman think. Anytime I have tried for them, I did not have much success. Last Summer, I got lucky and met a fellow fisherman at Taylor Bridge while I was looking for places to deer hunt. He was catching a crappie every time he rebated his minnow while he talked to me. My stepson and I went the next day further down the little sac and caught our limit on 15" crappie and 2-4lb White Bass and Some pretty good LM's. We had a heck of a fish fry. We had family from both sides at that fish fry. I am pretty sure it was last August or July. I will have to look back at my history postings. No problem here with the length limit change. I quit shooting 8-10 point bucks too. Yall got too many 12-14 and 16 points in this state. Its awesome living here.
  20. I really do appreciate yalls help over the last week. I am sure I will make it this weekend. Leaving the MRS JACKSON at home this weekend. My old Boss is in town. He works for the Pipeline Union now. So when he is off work, He still gets paid. WISH I DID. But he dont get to do not as much fishing as I do or spend much time with family in that industry. Got to drive to Bolivar to pick him up. I was thinking of where to take him. Looks like it might be a coin toss...who knows? If you guys see me..I am in the Blue Colorado Truck with the old green 15'FlatBottom with the old Blue 15HP Motor with white cap. Say High. Hopefully we will catch lots of fish.
  21. Haven't seen anyone on this forum lately. Anything going on out there?
  22. I was out there today after work catching white bass feeding on shad at a depth of 5' in 10' of water about 30' off the shore lines. I caught 2 Big Males on a 1 OZ WHITE ROOSTER TAIL and 3 BlUE GILL bigger than my hands. Like Fly Guy said it should be getting better because 2weeks ago when the weather had several warm day spells with no rain the crappie were hitting like crazy in 10 feet of water. They are chasing those shad. Gets me every time I see them on my radar. Makes me wish I had a cat that could swim down there real fast and grab them. lol. But I dont so that Big Rooster tail gets em. I might go back out there tomorrow. Good Luck and Safe Fishing.
  23. I have caught them off the Dock with liver real late at night after the gate closed. The Ranger guy told us to park outside the gate and we would have to walk in and out. So we did and caught our limit. We would be out there sometimes until after midnight catching catfish on liver. That has been 5 years ago. Today I was out there with night crawlers and caught 2 Big Blue Gill and two white bass. Last two years I have been in my boat catching them around rocky edges. There really is lots of fish and big fish in this lake. I see the difference on my radar and what I catch. Good luck and try that liver.
  24. Thanks Strawhat. Guess this cold front pushed the fish deeper. Do you thank the will go back shallow with these next warmer days?
  25. Thanks, I did not make it this past weekend. Lawn mower kicked up rock through sunroom window. Going this weekend hopefully. I usually put in at Aldrich, fish towards the lake bout as far as the 2nd bend or I usually head up the little sac. Sometimes I put in at Taylors Bridge. I have found several spots through there for BIG CRAPPIE AND WHITE BASS. Do you think the Crappie will still be hitting as well this weekend. And how far up is HighPoint?
