  1. Hahaha......... You're a real funny man aren't ya. My boat will be dry for quite a while. Christmas gatherings coming up, wrapping up some minor boat projects, etc. Trying to get ready for February crappie!!
  2. I'm not surprised. When they get like that and there's an overabundance amount of bait they will only eat that particular bait and went presented to them and such a natural way that only they know. All other bait won't seem to get a bite because they're quite content with their current food source at the time. At least that's been my experience because I have drop shot on a massive school of bait near that same area for almost an hour and could not get a bite for nothing even on a spoon or a drop shot
  3. I would say yes considering F&F and I troll 2.5mph in the summer. I would think 2.5 or even as low as 1.8 might be better in winter. Try dragging a drift sock or two. Or put your trolling motor down as that can help slow you down as well.
  4. When he said "20".....I was skeptical already. When he said 5.50..... I knew the "jig was up" and a tall tale was in the works. Lol!!
  5. Lol!! well there's proof why people need to just stay at home in conditions like this
  6. It was a fkatbottom boat trailer. The bird decals on the co-boaters truck led me to believe duck hunting.
  7. It was pretty creepy looking out towards Ventris with all of that fog and light snow still falling. Made me want to blaze across the lake to a few spots I know and drop some trolling rods. LOL!
  8. wc.... If you want to replace your own carpet, I can show you how. It's not hard at all. I've already begun tear down on mine. I hope to have it done by tomorrow. I spent about an hour tonight removing hardware and the carpet. Pulled right up. Now I have to grind/sand off the old glue and clean it & vacuume all the dust and debris. Then apply the new glue and put the carpet in. No problem.... Upholestry......I can't help you there. LOL! Here's my girl, tucked away out of the snow in the garage waiting for new carpet. And a little sneak-peak of what's in the works (deck extension). I'm taking out the front seats and adding new hatch lids with latches and creating a place to store tackle & gear below between what was the old seats in front of the console.
  9. Well.......... This was false advertisement because NO ONE was fishing today!! I made the second set of tracks in the snow down to Prairie Creek ramp. I drove all the way over to the ramp and it was completely barren and no one is crazy enough to get out in this stuff and go fishing. Although I bet they were biting like crazy earlier yesterday and this morning! Here's a few photos of the lake. Really pretty out there. Looking out over Beaver towards Ventris Looking back towards Avoca at Prairie Creek Prairie Creek Ramp
  10. Very true. I have several good baits in the lake because of wrap ups.
  11. Thus why I don't fish expensive jerkbaits or any bait over $10 for that matter. The A-rig combined with terminal tackle and bait is expensive enough. Which is why I use 50lb braid..........it's gettin' back in the boat one way or another. LOL
  12. Old Plug, the H20 reels are not gold plated titanium alloy diamond encrusted reels that are guaranteed to last a lifetime, catch more fish, and make you look good while doing it. They are simply a decent quality reel for an extremely low price. That's why I posted this to share with others. Not everyone has or wants to spend a lot of money on reels. Most of my reels are lower-end and not the $200-300 reels. I don't have any problems with my lower end reels and I definitely have not had any issues with the H20 reels and the fact that they cast a mile, smooth, I don't get "gear feedback" (feel the spool spinning when casting) like I do with other more expensive reels (Shimano), etc.........well I just thought I would share the bargain that I found. That's all. If I drop it in the lake and it sinks never to be seen again, I'm only out of pocket by $20 vs. $200+. Are the H20 reels better than a $200-400 Shimano? I hardly think so. Are they charging more for the same reel with camo? Probably....they have that right. Buyers will pay more for "gimmicks". The smart shopper reads past the gimmick. Oh and 10 bearings or 5 bearings.....it doesn't matter. It's the quality of the bearings that count (I've had many many reel mechanics tell me this as I asked what the difference was)
  13. Well if an old fart like you can learn something and admit it..... There is hope for this country yet. Lol! Glad it's helped you. It's helped me for sure! I wish I had found something like this year's ago.
  14. I will say, learning more about sonar has helped me catch fish better this year.
  15. Lmao!!! That's a compliment and poke at the same time! Lol! I have several photos. Lots of walleye and a few big bass too.
  16. Here is a LOT of information on sonar if someone was willing to read a lot of info. I know you can learn a lot from Doctor Sonar. http://doctorsonar.com/pages/lowrance-pro-s-corner-by-luke-morris
  17. Ya'll don't encourage the boy! Geez..... Lol
  18. I'm going to be replacing my own carpet soon. Possibly this weekend if the weather is just terrible. I'd rather be out fishing but it's not worth risking a wreck to get there and back. Besides, I need to get the carpet replacement started. I'm also removing the old front seats and making a deck extension too and I'm anxious to get that little project started. Making your own seats in an older boat isn't that difficult but if you want that professional touch, it's a much better and longer lasting solution for sure.
  19. They had litterally hundreds of them left just last week. Black Friday must have pushed a lot of them. Glad I got mine when I did.

Funny how bait moves in and out of that area.
  21. Nice find Stump Bumper. I feel even better about them knowing a reel mechanic has gone through one. And the fact that he mentioned my BPS Extreme reels. My first reel was a $125 Quantum PT. I took it back because I backlashed a lot. After trying the BPS Extreme reel, I finally learned how to use a baitcaster. I can't fault the Quantum. My point is, I couldn't see a quality difference between the Quantum and the BPS reel. I also have a $150 Shimano and it's NOT my favorite reel. I've held Shimano Curados and for the price, I don't see the point. I've had my BPS reels almost 7-8yrs now and they haven't been serviced by a reel mechanic yet. I clean them and re-lube once a year.
  22. Yes it's marked down to $20 and I have no quarrels with it. I've had one for 2yrs and loved it. A lot of the reviews so it will outcast just about any reel. Mist of my reels are Bass Pro Shops Extreme or a couple of BPS Prolites. The H20 reels cast easier, smoother, and farther. I also added some Hot Sauce reel oil to the brearings on the H20. I Like their products. Yes, I'm sure there are better but when you're on a budget, you buy what you can get at a great price.
  23. And now the price has dropped to only $20!!!!! Grabbed another two reels today I've been impressed so much by them. For that price, I am most happy. They have a lot left too in the Rogers store.
  24. Glad to hear you got some water time and even more glad to hear the AGFC making more habitats from the removed trees. Kudos to them.
  25. Who doesn't? Joe is like a jig master. Can't explain his method, doesn't know how he does it, and he flat catches fish on a jig.
