  1. For the record.... I did to. I know exactly where it is. :-) I'm still torn on where to launch, what to do, etc. I'm hoping for gear fishing early and then trolling till noonish.
  2. I'm also not a fully time "troller" (yet) My heart still longs for flippin' a jig and tossing a crankbait or plastic worm.
  3. Yeah, I think you sent me on a "goose-chase". :-) Sometimes........a man just needs time in his own boat. Especially when he's sank as much money into it over the years as I have getting it rebuilt, reconditioned, etc. LOL!
  4. Does a bear do his thing in the woods???? Yep, I'll be out tomorrow. Torn between trolling and casting....depends on which catches more fish. :-)
  5. That sounds like fun.
  6. I missed the meeting. Any results to share?

  8. I called Lake Fayetteville today to check on a fishing report and got an answering machine. I was hoping to hear some good news in case I can get the kids out for some brim fishing this weekend. I know the water is high and it's probably murky there but I'm thinking the bite should be increasing soon.
  9. Well said. Maybe I'll see you there! Swing over and say hi if you do. :-) Although..... i have a rod holder and a line counter and a few flea flickers.....i may be tempted to steel som of F&F's fish. Lol!!
  10. Why don't you just draw a road map and provide GPS points too! :-) The "lurkers" here just love you. LOL! (kidding....don't do that)
  11. Curious.... Why there vs. up river near Hickory? (fishing wise) I know there will be floating debris to deal with there vs. Indian but.....I heard the bite was stronger up river with a shallow water bite.
  12. Very true. The flicker is not a sure thing. It matches the hatch size and color. And its action is a bit different. Trolling a bait is a different presentation from casting. It can be more productive at times and when you add in something different on top of a different presentation, you will have better luck. Once the fish get used to seeing these, it won't be different anymore. There are so many fish in that lake, I don't think they'll get "used to seeing it" per say. I'm new to trolling so I'm going with what I have confidence in as you said.
  13. Finally bought me some of these little flea-flickers at Cabelas tonight. Also got a rod holder for trolling..... See what hanging out with F&F will do to you? What's the world coming too!! Lol!
  14. I need to start a new thread and take a pole on how long this thread will go! LOL!!
  15. Depends on what unit you have. I have the Elite 5dsi. Your manual should provide you with instructions on screenshots. You can download a PDF copy of your manual at Lowrance.com. Yes, you need an SD card. I just push the power button and the (+) button and it saves a screenshot. Pretty cool really. Oh, I almost forgot. You have to have a card reader that will allow you to hook up the SD card to your computer. If you buy a new SD card, most will come with an adapter that will go from micro SD to larger SD cards. My unit requires a micro-SD card. Any card reader would work depending on what size SD card you need for your unit.
  16. Note for anyone wanting to know what app or sonar I'm using..... Those are screenshots from my Lowrance. I posted them on Facebook (LOL!) and didn't have the pictures on file with me so I just used a screenshot on my phone of a screenshot of the Lowrance. Hey.....it worked. :-)
  17. I tried your spot by the way the next morning. Someone was already fishing that area so I decided to idle over the area in question and watch the graph. I was in 15-18ft and sometimes 12ft so I zig-zagged the area to see if the fish were still in 15ft. Hardly a fish at all. Not only did you catch a lot of them, you scared them to death so they left the area! I'll have to try it again next time out. I suspect they came into that area later in the day. I didn't have nearly the luck you had as I was casting vs. trolling (for the fun of it) and I eventually tried trolling a bait through this once I found out where the fish were. No bites. The fish in that area had a very bad case of "lock-jaw" until about the time I was done with it and ready to leave. The wind picked up and they started biting bait. Here's the activity I finally found.... WC..... This one is for you. :-) It's a big ole' pile of crappie on a tree. And to think I forgot my crappie rod at the house that morning.... UGH!
  18. Meaning the parking lit is full right?
  19. Yes, it's true. The little buggers work.
  20. In one photo.....you have on some big aviator glasses and in the other, you look a bit "Aussie" with the hat! Lol! Definately from a few years back. Lol! Glad I don't have any photos of me from years ago. Man.....don't want to go back there again!
  21. And today's report hasn't made the news yet. I wonder if there is a 3rd. Strangly enough, death usually occurs in threes...
  22. If anyone knows the key to Elmdale, shoot me a PM. I haven't written it off "yet" and would lime to give it one more try (without the kids) to see what it's about. Too much mill foil/coontail......whatever the heck it was. I couldn't get but one bite on a big ole worm on a bobber. I think the wind shut down the bite but I know there were panfish around. I saw them surface and saw them on the graph. Lots of pressure for a such a small sized lake though.
  23. Tried fishing Elmdale with the wife and kids. I now remember why I fish alone! Lol! Loading boat was a disaster. Motor flooded (trash in carb again) and some jack-wagon tried to squeeze in on a single lane ramp and load too (impatient jerk). Loading with trolling motor in 25-30mph side winds is not fun. Then the motor fires once on the trailer. (Figures) I at least got out on Beaver early this morning for a solitary hour. It was great.
  24. That sucks. I'm finding less pressured waters with the kids tomorrow. The Cinderella rod and pink Zebco will be on the hunt for some little frying pan variety! Lol!
  25. I thought about that same thing. Should work. They were probably not biting all day for fear of getting caught by a prop!
