  1. I welcome any and all tourists - so long as they don't make already dangerous country roads (over by our house, just above Neill's Bluff) more dangerous, so I hear ya. Luckily, it's about 4 minutes from our house to 412 launch, so if you need me Saturday morning - I'll be in Blue Springs just messing around
  2. I don't think there are any tournaments this weekend - but don't forget the War Eagle Craft Fair (depending on if one needs to use 303 to get to hiway 12). It's always something I guess!
  3. And three weeks later our employee tourney is out of Schooner Creek as well.... hoping to get a bead on them for that mainly!
  4. If you and / or Miss Donna notice an orange Legend close to you during that weekend, it'll just be lil ol' me.... I'll be, uh, keeping an eye on you for safety's sake of course wouldn't dream of trying to see what you'll be throwing.... It's always good to do the buddy-boat system on the water, right???
  5. good point. We may want to search harder starting now!
  6. I saw on the website this afternoon that Oakley Big Bass is scheduled for April 2nd and 3rd next year - about 5 weeks earlier than usual. What does everyone think that will do to weights?
  7. I fished it, and as many others - had a severe case of the "Dinks" all day. Heck, I only caught a couple keepers all day, and that was around 1:30. Major mistake was thinking too much... Saturday 10-3, I went up War Eagle and caught a bunch of fish, with the best pictured below: My little $10 hand scale said 3.8Lbs, so take that for whatever it's worth. I took a day of vacation Friday 10-09 to pre-fish for the Big Bass Deal, went up to run the same pattern in War Eagle, and didn't catch anything that was even legal keeper size. So, I decided to put in at Prairie Creek and fish up around that area - I have a suspicion that if I'd have gone back to the river, I'd at least have had something worth bringing to the scales. But, in the end the money went to the children's home, so I call it a winning day!
  8. Jared Gobel won it with a 5.2 I think? Couple others over 3, and it went downhill from there quickly.
  9. or we could snag a cheap flight out of XNA to Sanford and be in DeLand in about 5 total hours. Stay with family and catch some more Central Florida Big Girls :-) Don't need a graph on Woodruff or Glen!
  10. I think I'll pick a river and go as far up it as the Beast will let me tomorrow ;-)

  13. Where will y'all launch?
  14. good cause (Children's Home). I figure it's just donating to a good cause while I am fun fishing anyway

  16. Happy Friday everyone - Just saw this and thought y'all would like it - might spark a few fishing stories to be shared.
  17. That is awesome! So glad you all are having fun.
  18. What part of St. John's? I have family in De Land, Orange City, Maitland, Glenwood. If you get a chance to go see Highland Park Fish Camp, tell them hey from their Arkansas cousin Joe!!
  19. Good luck getting an "I ate then whole thing in One Hour" T-shirt on a Catfish....
  20. <twitch> (2,3,4) <twitch> (2,3,4).....
  21. Thank you J-Doc My advice is to talk my partner into fishing and be ready to run the net for him We caught them both mornings on spooks and wake baits first couple of hours in 5' or less around bushes. After that we used jigs / Carolina Rigs / drop shots on secondary points ( gravel was a must for us) in Esculapia/Blackburn/Coose. The spook bite was really weird - had to move it painfully slowly.
  22. Now THAT'S a fishing buddy!

Glad you had a good time, and thank you for the report. I am headed out Saturday morning again, and hoping to find more than my three last week: Diddly Piddly and Squat Lol!!
  24. I personally don't repaint lures. That's a bunch of hassle just for a hobby. Of course pink works, just like any other color when thrown under the right conditions. I buy blanks online for $2-$3 and paint them because A. It relaxes me and B. I can end up with 4 or 5 lures for the price of one expensive one.
  25. Launched at Hickory around 6:30 or so. Started in Joe Creek, then to Monte and finished at Hickory while waiting for a couple of folks to unload. I caught: Diddly Piddly Squat Respectively :-)
