  1. Is Beaver Creek similar to Flat Creek or Bryant Creek? Friend of mine's wife has some relatives around Bradleyville. They know the creek well he says. I'm around Table Rock all the time, my in-laws live on the lake down there, but have thought about hitting Beaver Cr. for some smallies.
  2. Where'd you catch um? We'll go from there...
  3. I can help ya with the minnows. The Lake Stop gas station across from the Johnsons General Store in town on 39 have minnows. I'd say from the 39 bridge towards Campbell point you'd be ok as far as clarity. The guys on the forum who live there can help you better. Good luck!
  4. Me and the guys had a great time. Too many cold nights (and days really) to get the fish turned on yet. I caught mostly small spots. Had a hard rainshower about 12:30 that lasted maybe 30 minutes. About 5:30 it came in for the night. Cold and wet, but good conversation with the boys will trump that combo everytime. Creekwader... let me know how the Big Sugar was. Chief.... thanks for thinking about me. But you guys go when you're ready if it's before June. I'll be down there after that. My in-laws sold there place on the lake in Shell Knob and I've got to keep helping them move over to Cassville.
  5. I'll post it Sunday night wader...
  6. I'm heading to the Little Niangua in the morning. Hoping the rain is sporadic on Saturday. Gonna float none the less. Good luck to you two!
  7. Chief, Buzz, and the rest of you guys. I'd love to float the Big Sugar or Indian Creek with you guys. I've got a very busy rest of April and all of May coming up though. A lot of that business has to do with fishing thank goodness. I'll keep a watch on you all for any trips after the first of June. Good fishing to you all!
  8. Here's my top 5... starting with the places I frequent the most. 1.Jacks Fork... beginning to know every nook & cranny. Smallies galore! 2. Smithville... hometown lake, excellent walleye and crappie. 3. Big Piney... seems to have slowed down, still a beautiful river. 4. Roaring River... nice solitude OUTSIDE the park. Limits 75% of the time. 5. Melvern Lake... crappie out the ying-yang!
  9. Can't believe a Black beat a White. Muscle over fat I guess?
  10. Cricket... I'd hook up with ya but I'm leaving Friday A.M. for the Little Niangua between Climax Springs and Macks Creek. The guys are coming over tomorrow night for a little pre-trip get together. Hope to fish with you down the road. By the way... great post on your Grandpa! I remember mine and theirs nothing like your grandparents.
  11. Fished above Muncy cemetary. Great looking holes scoured out with the high water last year. Started at about 11:00 and was done at just after noon. All rainbows, the biggest was my first at 15" 0r 16". Next two were around 13". Hooked a real nice bow that I thought was gonna be my last fish but he got off halfway to me. It was bigger than my first one. Finished with another 13". Ma-in -law fried 'em up for supper that night. Can't freeze them trout! 2lb. test, BB shot, and a number 6 bait-holder hook is what I used along with half a nightcrawler. Hooked all four fish that I caught through the lip, but I don't release a trout if I catch it, within the regs of course. They're too wimpy! Great day... except for the hen turkey I almost stepped on walking out to the truck... about ruined my waders! Tim, if you see this, wondering if you've been down there lately?
  12. Try searching the Shell Knob Chamber of Commerce website. There's no chain motels in Shell Knob, but there's lots of small places locally that have reasonable rates. Kings Inn, Hardman Hollow, etc. It'll keep you right at the lake. Lot of the places include a boat stall so you wouldn't have to take your boat out till you're heading home. Good luck!
  13. I'm a novice on spoonbills. But I'm guessing 77#'s. My graduation year. Fished for 'em once on Truman at Talley Bend. Our boat had five, but none were mine. Nice fish bud!
  14. Look at the amount of free throws they shot compared to us. We outscored them by 13 from the field. I'm not gonna look it up, but they were like 24 for 32 from the line. We were like 6 for 12. Plus, the -15 rebounding differnce! That hurt us. It's all about the Big East and the ACC... AND... the NCAA! They all want their revenue!
  15. Nice post Al... one kid we have coming in next year is Michael Dixon from Lee's Summit West here in the KC area. He's a lot like Denmon. Great shooter and quick. Like lots of high schoolers, he needs to strengthen up some though. Great year for the team. Got out rebounded by 15 last night but a break here or there and we could have been going to Detroit.
  16. Article in the KC Star this morning said Mizzou will be re-negotiating his contract after the season. Right now he makes $850,000 per year. Quin Snyder (the dumb@%*) made 1.2 million his first year here. Look for Anderson to make at least a little closer to what our football coach, Pinkle, makes a year. Are ya ready for this? 2.3 million a year!
  17. Nothing like the sport of fishing or just plain spending time outdoors to heal the heart, mind, and soul. Yep, that's a great thing those people are doing for the guys who've went through that crap.
  18. Marcus Denmon from Hogan Prep here in K.C. Watched him the last couple of years after he orally commited to MU.
  19. Yep hoglaw... SEC rules in football (much to my dismay!)
  20. Played lights out last night! Tiller and Carrol are the most hustling players I've seen in a long time. Another tough one against UCONN Sat., but if we continue to pressure... Big East teams don't see this style of play. Beat Memphis at what they thought they were great at! Hope we can get to the Final Four for the first time ever. If KU wins their next two and MIZZOU wins tomorrow, guess who plays each other in one semi-final?
  21. Chief, Buzz, and everyone else who were looking forward to this, it's still gonna happen. Can't wait.
  22. I didn't get one but our boat got five. Biggest was just under 60. There's a big bend where the channel swings around just south of Talley. Have any of ya fished through there?
  23. Gotta look after the boys! Good one Buzz...
  24. sorry man.... I wouldn't belly pet that dog!
  25. Heck bud, if you ever want to run up there, we'll take in a few spots together! I've got a 16 and a half foot Tracker with a 50 horse on it. Fishes good, but you might get wet (like none of us has ever!).
