Figured there were all the different species Bill. Like you said , just not the numbers. The only fish I would say are not in the Little Blue are the Hybrids that are in Blue Springs. I used to live in Atherton and spent many a time sand bagging the river at Blue Mills Rd. Ah the memories... -
Use do do ok up the James, especially in the arm leading to the Piney Creek wilderness area. We'd be crappie fishing and catch nothing but channels. I'm no catfisherman... so take it for what it's worth.

Years ago some guy caught an 8 pound largemouth while fishing in the vicinity of the old Heart drive-in (close to where it ran under 40 hwy.). I used to go frog giggin' down in Sibley but thats been awhile back also. -

You're good Eric... go catch some fish and send us some pics. Have you looked at the gage? Go to the website I mentioned and see Glory Daze' posts. I shouldn't judge on how the accident took place, but Blue Spring is a party spot in warm weather. Like I said earlier... nevertheless.

That is horrible. The river was on the decline this morning. I wonder if he got injured and was unable to grab something or get his footing. Nevertheless, a terrible tragedy. The upper Jacks is a great trip in April and May. Blue Spring is a popular spot for family gatherings. Be safe everyone and respect the power of moving water, whether it's at flood stage or not.

My casting prowess has faded some. I'll let Chief and Buzz admit who the spinnerbait fisherman is, but both of those jugheads can fish their butts off. I'm a jig guy, sometimes for better... sometimes for worse! Have a good trip Eric!

Hey Eric, don't know exactly how much rain they got before yesterday, but the gage height reading at Mountain View went from 3.2 to 6.8 yesterday and is now back down to 3.6 already. CFS is at at 601... down from 2600. I've never put in at the Prongs. Hoping you have no problems there. I'm doing Buck to Bay Creek early June. Can't wait! Gonna camp at Chalk Bluff. Don't know if you have or not, but the website "missouriscenicrivers.com" is a great site with lots of info and photos to get you all fired up.

Happened to me Bman on the Gasconade years ago. Thought that I too had the smallmouth of my life. Was out of the canoe, hooked up and realized this fish was gonna take me downstream with it. I went with it but ended up with a drum something like yours. Had the adrenaline running anyway!

You know guys, It's true the way Stockton lies makes that lake produce some big waves, thus the sailboats. Think about about it though... Pomme lies the same way. I've been on Pomme many times in the spring and incurred some pretty hairy conditions, even in a big ol' Lund.

Hellgramites? Or whatever else lives under the small rocks in the streams. We've all seen plenty of crawdads spit up and that's their primary food when they can get it. I'd like to know what they eat in the winter... besides an occasional nightcrawler that makes their eyes bug out during winter. Same with the trout.

Butler had a great game plan. They were all over Clemente and Pullen. Wildcats should've kept going to Kelly in the second half. Guards tried to do too much in the second half. Samuels and Sutton were no help inside. Colon wasn't either... why does he even start?

Heck of a game PC. Now you know how we Tiger fans felt last year. I'm rooting for K-State all the way. I think you've got a great chance to get to the final four, even though Butler beat a #1 seed (a top seed that showed class... see KU for lack of it.) Best guards in the Big XII? I'd vote they're in Manhatten... KC

Heck Wrench, if I started at LOZ, I'd probably stick with using my boat that has a motor attached. I miss the good old days down there. My strength issues are the result of spinal chord damage... but I try, and will not quit on river fishing.

Buzz, don't know about a warm rain down there just yet. Told Chief I will wait till we can get in the canoes. Forecast up here is almost 80 on wednesday. Sounds like everythings on the high side with the snowmelt/rain happening. KC

I've always wanted to float the Mulberry. Thing is, I've got some strength issues as far as getting through some tight turns. Wanted to know if any of you guys or gals on the forum could tell me if there are some nice summer floats that provide some good smallmouth fishing too. Haven't google earthed it yet, but how's the scenery? KC

I've always wanted to float the Mulberry. There's a few hairy spots on it ain't there? Of course river levels change the picture I'm sure. Just wondering, is it a decent smallmouth stream? If so, is there a stretch, during the summer, that is known for the fishing? Also, how's the scenery? I'm sure it's beautiful but if any of you guys would comment I'd appreciate it! I'd be floating it in a 17' Old Town. KC

I think Tim is the leading authority on fishing Roaring River. I've been in his store more than a few times. Every time I'm in the park I see him fishing. I've got to get to know Tim more and at least strike up a conversation with him when I see him. From what I've heard down there and what I've seen on the forum... he's a great guy who is willing to help out anyone who wants to ask any questions about trout fishing down there.
