We did not do so well this AM trying to figure out what was working while drifting just got here late yesterday afternoon, early afternoon changed over to worms and started catching regularly from down lake from cooper's boat ramp almost down to 65 bridge felt pretty good by mid afternoon, got our worms for in morning and ready to go at it again. Mama and Granddaughter went home this evening so me and son-in-law have no interuptions tomorrow. papamcgown

I'll be coming in with son-in-law on the 29th you guys get them checked out for us as we are still rookies, bringing pontoon, don't know if any of rest of family is coming or not at this time, I believe we are in # 14 this time. We've used power bait up to this point but interested in learning more about using spinners, jigs, etc so maybe can venture up above Fall Creek if water levels permit. papamcgown

In July took family and ate at Montana Mike's on hwy 248, had large ribeye and was very good, tasty and not too expensive, went back last weekend and ordered smaller ribeye and wasn't very good (not seasoned as well and tough-not a good cut) so I don't know (service was good though)...son-in-law had a chicken fried steak good size and I believe he thought it was very good. papamcgown (Gary)

First two floats from Fall creek and down we caught 4 each time, fishing slowed considerably after that....just heard at the place we are staying at, that water will be shut off at 2 this afternoon, apparently there is a vehicle in the lake up by the hatchcery, don't know what the story is but they are to have divers there this afternoon. Guess we have eaten and better get back out before water is shut off. papamcgown (Gary)

We will likely fish from Fall Creek area down to Landing area depending on flow, depth and how it goes, that is the area we fished last month. papamcgown (Gary)

Just signed up on the site a few days ago, finding a wealth of information, had not fished for trout in over 15-20 years (and that was from a dock) until last month. Me and the son-in-law took pontoon down to Taneycomo for a day and had a blast. Planning on taking my son & son-in-law down to fish this Friday & Saturday (15th & 16th). Me & better half are huge "PITT STATE GORILLA FOOTBALL" fans and live about 20 miles west of Pittsburg, KS, so after this trip won't likely be able to go back until early next year, which appears to be extremely good time to go. Will fishing drop off on Saturday with the drawdown in the lake, or is that still on? Later, papamcgown (Gary)
