  1. A group of us fly flingers went out Sunday morning chasing the ellusive whites. We haiked around Twin Bridges and had a decent amount of luck. We started out upstream and had very little luck. Most of us were chunking clousers. Ken Richards and myself hiked downstream to the confluence of Richland Creek and the White and caught quite a few more. For as nice as it was, there werent just a ton of people out. Talked to a few fellow anglers and they said the hotspot was on War Eagle. He said the previous evening he had gone to the "Two Dollar" hole and done very well. Looks like the rain will keep fishing to a minimum, but I would assume this week and possibly next they will really heat up.
  2. I would definitely like a sticker for a boat or car.
  3. Drop Russ(wackyworm) a pm or email. He is an outfitter up there at Hog Heaven and has a pretty good handle on whats going on floating wise. I am hoping to get an Indian Creek trip or two in myslef this year.
  4. Any news on the kayak??
  5. If the trend keeps going, they have been stopping generation early in the morning. I opted for White Bass today instead of trout, but may sneak up there Saturday morning. Check out the Corp of Engineers and SWPA site for generation schedules.
  6. Just enough to keep getting freebies!!!! I threw the Smallie and it was way too big for what I was thinking. I liked the idea of the Bluegill, but wanted more than a one trick pony for a rod. Thats why I figured the 3 or 4wt would be great in a shorter length. You always have the 000wt to use...... :)
  7. I was discussing this with my Sage rep the other day. A 7'6" 4wt ZXL or VT2 is what I am looking at ordering. I use the 5wt for smallies and larger trout, but a 3 or 4 wt would be great for tiny streams. Also, Ross Worldwide makes a slick little youth model that casts very well. Again a 7'6" 4wt.
  8. I was able to meet and talk with Don at the Fly Fishing Expo last weekend. It was great to swap stories and techniques. He is a super nice guy and he sells a top notch product. He gave me a few pointers on colors and recommended some of their top sellers. I will definately be giving him some business in the future. Not really a product review and a retailer review.
  9. Anything I can do to help, just ask. I am always looking for an excuse to get to Branson.
  10. I went with Ken richards and had a great time. Vendor turnout was good and there were plenty of tyers. Had a good time casting a few new rods and talking popping bugs with Don from BreamBugs.com I am kinda suprised the BassPro doesnt do something similiar being right on the water.
  11. We were headed back from the TriLakes Fly Fishing Expo and caugh the hard rain a little south of Joplin. Followed all the way into Ark. Lots of swollen creeks. I figure the runoff will last a few days. With temps warming like they are supposed to this week, those smallies should be ready to feed.
  12. With all the rain we have been having, I am afraid fishing at Beaver might be shot for a little bit. Maybe throwing a streamer or such, but high water is not something I really care to fish on at Beaver.
  13. I agree with Aaron. They are pumping alot of water. With the rain we got over the weeeknd, I am afraid they will be pumping alot more. If they dont draw down Table Rock, the White will start to back up and slow fishing. I imagine they will be releasing all week and probably the weekend. Time to throw some heavy woolies.
  14. You really dont know a lake till you have to navigate it in the fog. I was guiding a family and didnt have my GPS. Ended up following the shore to my beginning spot and floated around there. I was scared to death to get ran over. I was keeping my eyes peeled for other boats out there. I havent fished rocky branch in a while. I do need to run over to the Lost Bridge area and fish it again as well. So much lake, so little time.
  15. We broke camp about 4am Sunday morning, trying to beat the rain. Didnt feel like wrestling a rain soaked tent. Did well on Saturday evening. They sure liked the olive wolly worm. Looked like some smaller BWO's, but I got denied by the fish on three different sizes. Looked like the park was pretty busy this weekend.

    Big Sugar

One fish and it was probably foul hooked......we know how that Redfish guy fishes...... Good report. Rains this weekend will have it rolling. I may have to sneak up and play with the toon in the higher waters. Looking forward to getting up there with the fly gear again.
  17. Fishing was slow on Beaver this morning. There was a HEAVY blanket of fog that hung around until 10am. Most fish were hanging low and at the mouths of inlets. The crappie were hitting well on shiners and shiney hineys. Wind was steady most of the day. Water was still a bit murky from the previous days rains. There were alot of guys coming back from the War Eagle leg of the lake with their livewells full of whites. The fog hung around that area quite a bit later, but once it cleared, the fish were hungry.
  18. I setup an account under ArkFishingAdv. I will be posting fishing reports, hot spots, general info, and useful tackle. Would love to have a few more outfitters/guides join up and do the same. I think this could come in real handy. Especially since you can talk directly between two people.
  19. Hickory Creek and Monte Ne are good for holding Crappie. I am pretty sure the whites are getting up into the War Eagle and White. For Bluegill, get close to any bluff line or a cove surrounded by trees.
  20. Great pics. I am heading up Saturday morning and staying through Sunday. Hoping the approaching rain will send them into feeding mode. Looks like an Elk Hair Caddis in photo #3. Were they keying in on anything in particular?
  21. Best of luck Michael. Hope to make it up to meet you before you move.
  22. We are camping at Campground 2 Saturday night. Hoping to get to the River early Saturday and fish. Also gonna hit it hard on Sunday. Loaded up on a few different soft hackles, scuds, and emergers. Also a few woolies. looks like rain on Friday, so fishing may be a bit off.
  23. Just a bump with pics of the "unstained seats".
  24. Congrats Phil. My little sis just had a baby, got my wife to wanting one. Nothing like having a little one. The Sage 00wt would make a killer first rod.

    Snow

Hey Red, Did you guys get the downed trees out of the way? I was thinking about you guys and the snow while I was sipping rum on the Florida coat.........
