  1. From my understanding(and it is little at best) the Legislator would be the puppetmaster and the AGFC the marianets. Moneys would be going into a general fund unstead of particular.......so money collected by Game and Fish could be used to build a road. Doesnt sound so bad.....but it is basically replacing one programw ith another at the Legislators call.
  2. M O N E Y ! ! ! The Legislator is proposing to take the authority fo the Arkansas Game and Fish Commision away from the Commision and putting it in control of the Legislator.........HORRIBLE IDEA. This is aout money plain and simple. AGC does not need to be dependednt on the Legislator to babaysit it. What knowledge of conservation, ethics, etc do the lawmakers thik they have over the employees of the AGFC. If you are an Arkansan, please email your Rep and ask them to vote against this amendment to the Constitution.
  3. Please state which code you are referring to? Do you have previous knowlege of how close they were to waters edge upon issuance of the building permit? Please do not throw out unsubstantiated claims without a way to back them up.
  4. CC, swing on down this way and you can swipe my pontoon and I will put you on some crappie. We have a few spots on Beaver that hold some slabs. Also, here is a pic just cause I like the way it turned out.
  5. I joined as well. Looking forward to hearing reports and meeting new people.
  6. I have a fishcat pontoon as well. Belly boats dont work much for me......to hard to get around.
  7. Bobber has it summed up. Kings doesnt ahve a ton of public access.....most from the outfitters is private. There is the option of renting a cabin on the water and having access that way. Or maybe a quick two hour float into HWY 62 bridge.
  8. I fished above the lake and below the dams on Saturday. I was worried about how the recent trail construction affected the waters. The gravel ahd changed around quite a bit and lost some habitat. Nice deep run from the South side of the wakling bridge running south along the west side of the creek. There were a few smallies held up in the DEEPEST portions. Wind really picked up, so I headed below the dam. Not a ton of luck. Water is still pretty cold for much movement. Dropped a crawdad pattern along the bottom and got a few very slow hits, but nothing hooked up. Talked to quite a few people around fishing......most were mentioning catching a smallmouth and cooking it. I hope people realize the slow growth rate of these fish. Anywho, I had a good time getting out and cant wait for warmer weather.
  9. Click "My Controls(will be bold type) at the top of the screen. On the panel on the left side of the screen(near the bottom) will be an option "Change Your Email". Hope this helps.
  10. I signed up...anyone else a member?
  11. Yes, yes, and yes. I have fished a majority of the creek. Low water hurts it, but there are some good pools. Below the Dam. Behind the POA building. Behind the Sonic. Behind the Animal shelter. Give a shout if your going to head that way. I havent fished it since last spring.
  12. Agreed. Not to be a snob at all, but there is a big difference between good enough and adequate for the job. C&F stuff rocks.
  13. CDC, I can pretty well say if you see a pontoon thats blue in color, it will be me. I sure got alot of funny looks and questions about it my last couple trips down. Also any time I stop to get gas. Looking forward to seeing ya on the river.
  14. I swiped this from Scott Branyan over on "flyfisharkansas.com". I have seen this in other states and if implimented right, it is a great thing. Tax credits for conservation easements. http://www.arkleg.state.ar.us/assembly/200...Acts/Act351.pdf
  15. Just an FYI in case anyone was planning on floating it soon, there is a two tree strainer about 300yds upstream from HogHeaven. The only way around it is over or walking your boat around. I mentioned it to Russ(wackyworm) and Tom(owner of Big Elk), so I have no doubt it will be taken care of. They are two big trees though and it might take a few trips. Again just an FYI in case anyone is hitting that section.
  16. We take 76 when traveling from Pea Ridge to Branson.....it is curey but not too bad. 86 is straighter like stated, but I have seen county sheriffs patrols every time I took it. Nothing against that at all....just an FYI.
  17. Fishing was pretty slow, but I am afraid the weather was against us. There were plenty of fish in site, but not really hitting on anything. Ended up doing more fishing than cleaning on this trip.
  18. I will probably be in for this one......gotta figure out a time to fish though. Anyone up for a daybreak float/fish then cleanup? We could do Hog Heaven to Riverside or even go above Hog Heaven and float in. Edit: I may just shoot for launching at Pineville at around sunup and float into Hog Heaven. I think that might be the easiest float.
  19. Dangit Bob.....I never put two and two together.......BOB=BOBBER!! The vest has a great place in one of my outdoor boxes....lol. I am pretty sure we did a cleanup on this waterway Bob.....and it is primed for fishing. I am about 5 minutes from it, so definately count me in.
  20. I grabbed 40 flies for $35. Flies were 20% off. Rods and reels are 10%. Total madness there.
  21. I have never had much luck when a cold front is arriving......but I have heard other swear by them. As far as what bait, I have been super happy with a 2.5" crawdad from YUM, bounced off the bottom. I also like to grab a shorter worm in black or blue and Texas rig it. Swing it around the front side of the boulder and grassy patches.......the smallies seem to like to hold there. Just a few random thoughts.....enjoy. I really miss floating the Buffalo.
  22. Russ, thanks to you and Jean-Anne for making us all feel at home. Best beanie weenies I have had in a LONG time. Definately going to be on my list of river side lunches.
  23. I have watched it twice. I have a handful of them on DVR currently. Of the ones I have seen, it seemed like he really got into fishing our waters. Props to JW for putting him on some "FREAKS"!!
  24. Ollie, the morning wind was chilly. I had breathable waders on and got pretty warm by 2pm. I do have to say......baitfish were large and abundant. The Elk looked prime for smallie fishing.
  25. I believe we had a very succesful trip. 6 people total. 2 canoes, 2 kayaks, and a jonboat. All were loaded down with trash from the trip. We could probably had made another pass and added to our collection. Thanks a bunch fellers for letting me tag along........even if I was a tad overdressed.
