  1. Hoppers work great in the park, but I prefer foam beetles and ant's. I don't know why, but I seem to have better luck with them.
  2. Well I didn't think about that. I guess I would have a better chance in the C&R or maybe out on the river...
  3. I read in the Conservationist that we are supposed to have a big Cicada hatch this spring, so I was wondering if anyone has some good patterns to try out in the park?
  4. Tim's Fly Shop just outside the park is who to call about water conditions, especially before your drive down.
  5. My son is only three so I know I will have to wait awhile, but your story made me a bit jealous.
  6. Is your price firm?
  7. Do you have a pic??
  8. I fish a TFO Lefty Kreh series 3 wt. at RR. It is the perfect rod for the park, especially on days when the wind isn't real bad. I think they come in three or four piece models, mine is a four piece. Great rod, I would absolutely recommend it for RR.
  9. Hey guys, I was thinking about heading down tomorrow and was wondering how the fishing has been. Also, how is the water looking? Is it worth my time, basically?
  10. I agree, I am actually left handed and I have tried to tie up some flies that way. Man that is wierd. Great looking fly.
  11. I also like the Hickory Hollow Resort which is by the Kings River Golf Course.
  12. I forgot to mention on the card, that if you guys don't want the legs, just cut them off. I have fished these flies both ways and there isn't much difference, but I left them on so you have the option. I know the traditional pheasant tail uses partridge for this but out of convenience I have always used PT instead.
  13. Yeah I think I am going to do a variation on a BH Pheasant Tail, I seem to catch a lot of fish with it in the parks. I know its a pretty standard issue fly, but I am confident that I can do a descent job tying them up. Sorry to change my mind from TBD!
  14. Ok guys it's my first post on this board all though i have been a lurker for awhile. If its ok I would like to try the swap. It might be a good way to get to know some of you as well as a way to get some good ideas for flies. I am a beginner, hopefully thats alright?
