  1. I was on it last week and it worked great. Went to their home site, clicked on fishing, then down towards bottom on right was the link. I have it on a sd card if you want to copy. Let me know when your over this way sometime.
  2. Does anybody else feel lots of love right now. The fact is that if people will take the time to take care of the fish, then it will dramatically increase their chance of survival. Us dumb thursday night fisherman are so dumb that we don't even weigh dead fish. We figure that if we can't keep them alive for 3 hours, then it isn't worth weighing them. I don't have any problem with someone that wants to stay home in the heat and not fish. That is their choice and this is America for another couple of years. So if you don't feel like fishing, thats fine, but to get on a forum and say you know a little about fishing and then call others dumb is what I would consider a little.....how do I say it and stay politically correct?. I'm not even sure what time oprah comes on, but I sure don't feel like sitting around in the house all day and finding out. If it cost a fish his life so that I don't have to sit around inside all day then so be it. The fish won't enjoy it as much as I do, but then again, I'm human and it's a fish. I'm so glad I decided to read all the post after putting up my fishing report. Now I can take a nap in peace after a great morning on Stockton Lake.
  3. Just a little slow on the results but had an ear infection, Church meeting, and guide trips. Better late than never so here they are: 1st place went to Perry Ayres and Jay Carter who had 5 fish that weighed 12.97 lbs for $140.00 2nd place went to Justin and Mike McManis who caught 3 fish that weighed 5.34 lbs Big fish was caught by Ayres and Carter and went 5.26 lbs. for another 80.00 Thanks to everyone that fished and once again we released all of the fish alive!! Thanks for taking good care of them and remember to bring ICE to keep them fish cooled down and the O2 level up. results for 7/15/10 The tournament was won by Adam Smith and Brandon Inman who had 5 fish that went ??? (I don't have it in front of me) But they did win and did a great job on another tuff night. I'll find the results and update later.
  4. Water temp 83 3 foot high normal Bass are biting fair on plastic worms and jigs in 15-20 foot of water. Texas rig the worm and you have to work it really slow. Also there is a top water bite early and late as the fish come up and feed on the massive amounts of shad that are in the lake. To catch the walleye you can either troll crankbaits on main lake flats or float with a 1/8 oz lead head and 1/2 of a nightcrawler. Work in the area of 20-22 foot of water and let the wind drift you over the area or you can use your trolling motor. Seems to be a pretty light bite right now so be ready to set the hook on anything. Crappie are biting excellent in 20 foot brush piles lakewide. Use 1/16 oz jigs or a minnow. In the early mornings and late evenings you can fish just above the brush and catch lots of fish, but once that hot sun comes up you need to get the jig into the brush pile and slowly jig it to get a bite. You really need to concentrate on the difference between the brush and the fish. Several of the fish are just hanging on or hitting on the fall, so you need to watch, and feel for bites. Lots of keepers are coming off the brush, so find that one honey hole and you can feed the family or just have lots of fun. Catfish are excellent on fresh shad drifted across flats in 15 foot of water. Use a crappie hook, split shots and let the bait drift across the bottom. Great time for the kids to catch some fish or to take the grandparents etc. Good luck and keep your hooks sharp!!
  5. Don't forget to show up at ruark bluff, 6 pm take off, for our thursday evening bass tournament. Only took about 15 lbs to win it last week, so come on out and try your luck. We will fish until 930 and weigh in at the ramp. Only 40 bucks per boat, includes big bass. Call 4172089535 if you have questions or after 5 send me a text if you need to get me a messge at 4172348988. Not much service at the ramp. See you all there.
  6. Try fishing a little deeper for the big ones. It is an easy lake to catch 40 fish a day, but sometimes them big ones hide out a little deeper. Didn't for me last week, but that is what they were supposed to be doing. Good luck1!
  7. Sounds great, should be a great night to take my money!! Saves me from having to post a new notice too. Everyone is invited this Thursday from 6 pm to 9:30 pm, Ruark Bluff, 40.00 per team includes big bass. Great time and you will be fishing the best bass lake in missouri. If you have every thought about fishing one of these, do it this thursday and lets try to get 30 boats out there. The more boats, the more confused I will get when trying to do the weigh in so you can all make fun of me!! See you at the ramp about 5:30!!!
  8. totally agree lilley, I don't call unless I think they can make it to them. Or if the person leaves after I call, I will call back and let them know it's over etc. Nothing wrong with talking directly to the people either. Some people just don't know the rules and need some help, but the ones that do this intentionally are the ones tht need tickets. How is the trout fishing down there??
  9. you can change the ages of the questions, I just did them real quick and didn't think much about them. And no I don't have any aversion to visitors, but the locals that break the laws here will probably eventually get caught, the ones that come in swoop up all the fish they can catch, and then get out of town is a problem because they are not here long enough to get caught. not enough agents etc. the visitor thing was just an observation and was not meant to offend anyone. I will look over the original post and change if it looks bad. thanks
  10. Not sure what your point is but you can only get one daily limit a day. once you get to that point, then you have to catch and release, and this would easy cover what I mean in "a chance for catching more fish". Plus you shouldn't have that problem since you don't keep fish, you can fish all day and not worry about it. This only counts the fish that you keep and kill, as you say in your post, you do not kill any fish. As far as being from kansas, that has nothing to do with your limits, it applies to everyone the same. Everyone has the same daily limits on all fish, regardless of where you come from. The point of this survey was to encourage people to call the agents if they see something going on that is illegal. We have the best lake in the state and it would be nice to keep it that way. Keep what is legal and throw back what is not. Good luck slowroller
  11. I'm far from a scientist, LOL. I didn't think this would get this big of a response or it would have been nice to have some better worded questions. I had just got a phone call from a group that I took out and they were telling me about "all" the fish that they took back home with them. It really made me angry since they lived out of state and it sounded like they were way over the limit. So when I was talking to mdc and I asked them about having to give your name they said you could do anonymous reports. As far as straw hats comment, if you don't give them a name, then they won't have a name to come back on. call 911 from a pay phone or someplace else and it's over. Sorry that someone went thru all that trouble to get your name and harrass you and your family, but it takes all of us working together to stop all the poachers etc. The agents are to few and it's impossible for them to know everything that is going on. They might not even be able to respond sometimes, if they are on something else, but at least they will know it happened etc. I think I'll go fishing now. Boats already hooked up!! Good luck to eveyone.
  12. Yes this is an interesting way to keep them from messing up the fishing, but very good way also. I like it!! I just get the feeling that nobody wants to turn people in because they feel guilty. We need to all work together to stop these people and get them off the lake. not the guy who makes a mistake counting or is a 1/32 off on a walleye or crappie but the guys who have a livewell full of shorts, you know the people. I just want to get some people fired up to make the calls that need to be made. Good luck out there and don't sink to many boats.
  13. A couple of months ago we had a big discussion about the problems with calling the game warden out to catch a poacher or a bad counter. Some people were afraid of reprocustions from the bad guy, however the system is set up to take unidentified complaints and they do not require that you give your naume nad number to the agent. You can even get part of the reward if you do the complaint right. I'm not trying to get eveyone on the lake to be snitches, however anyone reading this has to agree that we are sitting ont he best lake in the state.it's beautiful, it's not overcrowded, and it has more fish in it for us to eat than any other. I have no problem with someone keeping their limit of fish to take home and feed his family, however he can only do this once a day. We have people going out 2 to 4 times per day. Some are from other parts of the country, coming in here to deplete our fish. We need to stand up and support our agents and catch these guys, not sit back and think it doesn't make a difference. I have seen or heard of several problems this year with fisherman doing the wrong thing. Just some thoughts for this evening and hoping everyone will help out and start turning in some of these people. If you see some guy or a group cheating the system, remember it is them that did it, you just helped the warden find them. We have a choice between sitting back and doing nothing and the lake might head the other way, or helping keep our fish in the lake and support the wardens. Good luck on the lake. I will be posting a report monday!!
  14. We have been getting between 12 and 15 boats fot he most part. Ain't bad,but there are lots more bass fishermantat we need to encourage to come on up here. The ones that are showing every week are a great group of guys and don't mind telling a few stories abot how and what on, maybe not just where. Leave again next thursday so lets break 20 boats for the tournament. if you think you just might make it, come fish it.
  15. Had a great tournament tonight, however the fish didn't show up for most of us. Bites were a little lighter and fewer than last thursday evening. Here are the results:: 1st place was the father and son team of Ayres and Ayres who caught 5 fish that weighed 15.18 lbs. They also had big bass that went 4.91 lbs 2nd place was Brad Carey and Rick Johnston who had 5 fish that weighed 14.84 lbs. They also had 2nd big bass that went 4.21 lbs 3rd place was Adam Smith and Brandon Inman who caught 2 fish that weighed 5.29 lbs. sounded like most of the fish were caught on plastics off points, which isn't where I had concentrated my efforts this evening. Last weeks results (I only post this to make me feel better) 1st place was Bob Bennett and Brad Shockley who had 4 fish that weighed 14.73 lbs and big bass that went 6.48 lbs 2nd place was Adam Smith and Brandon Inman with a 4 fish bag that went 10.04 lbs. We did lose one fish tonight so if you are fishing next week, don't forget to bring some ice, rejuvenate, and keep the recirculate pumps going, not fresh lake water. The water is getting warm enough that it is not holding the O2 so we need to start making sure to cool down the water and make sure the fish are staying healthy. Next week we take off at 6 pm, ruark bluff, 40.00 per boat. Come on out and meet some new people and try your luck!!!
  16. Don't forget we have a bass tournament every thursday at 6 pm. It is a buddy format and takes off out of ruark bluff. we fish until dark. Only $40.00 per boat and that includes big bass. payback is 1 in 7 boats and lots of fun. If you have questions give me a call at 417-208-9535 or show up at the ramp before 6 pm to register. No membership, no late fees, just show up and fish.
  17. Lake is about 2.4 feet high and color is normal. Water temp is hovering around 80 Walleye are hitting lead head jigs with crawlers in 10 to 20 foot of water lake wide. Lots of shorter fish, but if you are not catching them then get on the move. the fish are mainly on points and flats. I have been catching my fish around point 3 and that area. We have had several nice fish this past week with one going over 5 lbs. Keep the jig on the bottom or just off the bottom and be ready for anything that feels different. some of the fish are just hanging on and you don't even feel a bite. bass are fair to good on plastics and jigs in 20 foot of water on main lake points. My partner had a 6.48 lb in tonights tourney and I had one over 5 and lost one at the boat about 4 lbs. Looks like we got lucky because we didn't have many boats catch fish tonight. 1st place was 4 fish 14.74 and 2nd was 4 fish 10.82. Sounded like all the fish were coming off points, so hit them points!!! Crappie are excellent on jigs in 20 foot of water about 12 foot down. Lots of nice crappie being caught, but take some minnows with you, they don't take kindly to strangers, and they don't always take a jig. Catfish are on mudflats in 10-18 foot of water and are biting good on cut bait and shad. Good luck and please keep it safe on the 4th of july weekend. If you take your kids out, make them where a lifevest. It's been a tough summer on stockton, 3 drownings, 1 child. Nobody wants to hear or see any more accidents this year, so lets all keep it safe!!! Good Luck fishing, they are there, we just have to catch them.
  18. I fish about 250 days a year, almost all on Stockton. I see 100 PLUS great people that are polite and courteous to every 1 rude person. I don't pay much attention to the rude one, just go on with my day and enjoy having such a great life. Although I do have to admit that if I get the chance someone once told me that I can be a little, just a touch, sarcastic. Now I don't see it, but apparently I sometimes say something to stoke the fire just a little as we pull away. Life is to short (and so am I) to sit around and worry about a tourny fisherman or a crappie fisherman making us mad while we are enjoying fishing. It will probably get worse the more crowded the lake gets, but I would still rather be fishing than arguing with some sizzle chest on another boat or the bank. I think we should all get together and sing a nice song together, like we are the world, or somethin like that. Now back to the topic at hand, I'm checking my schedule and would like to fish the tourny. will let you know
  19. If your catching lots of bluegill, then your close. Move in or out a bit and see if the walleye are a little shallower or deeper. and just in case that doesn't work, bring lots of extra worms!! Sometimes it's a difficult thing to get them to stay off while you move around and find the eyes. Good luck!!
  20. I just use the 1/8 oz jig unless it just gets to windy to get them to the bottom then I will upsize. If it is really calm i even fish a 1/16 oz. Dale, the owner at Southwinds motel, taught me everything I know about walleye fishing, which is still growing I might add. I think it's about all he uses also. He is one of the best on the lake and a wealth of knowledge for catching these fish. If you are ever looking for a place to stay around the lake and want to talk and learn about fishing, it is the place to go!!
  21. I don't have any problems when I am in 10-20 foot of water. If the wind picks up alot, and I cant keep it on the bottom, I will go to a 1/4 oz if needed, but it hasn't been that windy over the past couple weeks except for 1 day and that day i just used a 1/4 oz jig. hope this helps a little, but them 1/8 oz jigs will work, just work it slow. That is what the 6 lbr was caught on last week!!
  22. main lake and secondary points from the dam to a little past birch. find some of the rocky steeper points and fish them in about 10-17 foot of water. some bigger fish are moving in, had 2 over 20" evening before last. I think everyone that I've had out has had a least 1 keeper, several had their limits, and lots and lots of short fish about 14 inch. Good luck!!
  23. Lake temp 80 Level, about 2.5 high clarity is normal to stained Walleye are excellent on 1/8 oz lead heads with 1/2 night crawlers on points in 10-20 foot of water. I had a guy catch a 6.05 saturday and he was very excited to say the least. I had a nice 3 lb fish. I think the bigger fish have moved in with the smaller ones we have been catching. He had a limit of walleye for the first time in his life and had a blast. Try drifting windy points and pay very close attention to the depth. Bass are on the move and going to some deeper structure. Plastic worms and jigs in 15 foot brush piles can produce a very large fish this time of year. It's time for some big bags to be getting weighed in on thursday evening tournaments, so come on out and try your luck. were having lots of fun!! Crappie are good on jigs and minnows in main lake brush piles. Sorry but I have been on lake everyday for the past 2+weeks. Business has been excellent and I have to contribute alot of the success to Ozarkanglers.com. This website has really helped me grow the guide business and lots of people seem to be enjoying some great fishing. Things are a little slower for the month of July and we should be having some excellent crappie and walleye fishing!! Not a real detailed report, but I am really tired so going to bed. Please feel free to give me a call or post a question on here and I will try to help you out. Keep your hook sharp!! Good Luck Remember that the water is heating up, hot water does not carry the Oxeygen that cold water has. We must work hard do save thies ripsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
  24. This will be short, but got to get some sleep. Walleye are awesome on points on 1/8=1/4oz jigs and pony heads tipped with a crawler. the walleye have been shallow, so start there and move out to deeper water. I will try to get more detailed after a little sleep and more fishing. Good luck to all!!
