It is for sure an AFF boat; weather the builder acquired a mold or pulled one off of an old AFF is probably only going to be known by the builder. Bear makes a heck of a riverboat trailer, way stouter than the EZ loader trailers. I’m just not sure why a new boat manufacturer would be trying to sell a boat on craigslist? You’d think the guy would have some type of real marketing lined up before he invested in the boat business in this type of economy.

Backwoods has been out of business for about 5 years now, and they only built a hand full of boats. The Viper / Cobra riverboat is the same boat, out of the same mold; they also only built a hand full of boats. Back in the spring Hodges Marine in Bull Shoals had a very nice Cobra riverboat on consignment. They most-likely sold it but, you can give them a call at 870.445.4506 and see…. It’s been a while since I’ve been to Bull Shoals.

Cotterboy, if your looking for something similar to the Topwater you may want to check out the Raven Boat. The finish quality is equal or better and it is also wider. The only real down fall for these boats is the wait to get one, but that also means that the company will be around in the long run.
