Tri-Lakes Fly Fishers will be holding their annual Expo on April 12, 2014. We get started at 9a.m. and usually finish up around 4p.m. There will be vendors from around the area, fly tying demonstrations from some of the best in the 4 state area and beyond, and raffle/auction items. Our featured speaker this year is Norm Crisp from Streamside Adventures. http://www.streamsideadventures.com/ He will be giving two presentations: 'Missouri Trout Fishing Alternatives' and 'Tactics and Techniques for Small Streams'. Every year we also have a casting pool set up outside and offer casting instruction by an FFF Certififed Casting Instructor. Lunch is served on permises at a very reasonable cost which benefits the Youth Group of the church. This event is held at: Brighton Highway Assembly - 5403 Highway F, Brighton, MO * directions * from Springfield, go N on Hwy 13, turn right onto Hwy 215 and follow to the stop sign. this will be the 'old' Hwy 13- which is now Hwy F. Turn Left and the church will be about 1/4 mi up the road on the left.....if you miss that turn onto Hwy 215, there will be another one up the road at the light.....take a right, go to Hwy F and then turn right. the church will then be about 1/5 mile down the road on the right. when we moved to SPFLD - 30 years ago- the realtor told us SPFLD was a test market for restaurants/chains.....don't know if it's really true, but when you look around on every corner....it makes you wonder..

Phil, we went to Yellowstone the second week or so in June the year we went. Fished the Madison and the salmon fly hatch was going on up around Ennis (not were I was fishing unfortunately). we spent a week at a motel in west yellowstone and visited the park daily. the crowds were not bad at all. msybe this time frame would be better if you can get away?

i don't think the banquet being on Friday night is a done deal for each year.....i imagine each conclave chair will have the option to 'rearrange' it as they see fit.....so you need to ask Michael for 2008. interesting statistic......we made more in 1 night this year on live auction than in 2 nights last year......not much more, but more.

i also like maria's, and i also like la hacienda - the one on west sunshine. and as for tamales....well....my hispanic friends taught me to make them, so....i happen to like mine over any you get in a restaurant....mexican villa is a local 'staple' for those ozarkians who've been around a while. my old boss LOVED it.....she said that while her kids where young they went there every friday night for dinner. i can take it or leave it....mostly leave it.
