  1. I think this just might be " just like instructions"...One mans opinion on how something should work
  2. let me know if your still thinking on selling your blazer, I have been looking for something for use on the eleven point
  3. No stamp needed unless you plan to keep fish. Plastis and bait is not allowed from Geer to Turners. Might try this link, http://www.missouriscenicrivers.com/Elevenpointriver.html
  4. coons.. bears... and BIGFOOTS... oh my
  5. Gene, how the repairs going?
  6. If it was a toppless zone, no one would care if you were pitching bait or pitching a bug.... lips and guts take on a hole new look
  7. Id like to see a put in at turners north, a T.P. bomb patrol, blue ribbon area extended to Whitten. Jet boats limited to weekends, and only in the white ribbon area. Id like to see an Ice station here or there. Oh ya, and a topless area from Whittin to Riverton. (if im wishing, go for it!)
  8. Tumbling Shoals, or atleast the spot that I stayed, is about 2 miles above Horseshoe Bend near McDowell on the map. The states forest camp, horseshoe bend is at the end of the bends in the river on the left as heading down stream. All so I dont rember and forest service camps that have any gravel bars. They all seem to me to be very muddy at the tables and fire rings.
  9. Thanks Superfly, I will have some in the box, thats for sure. As Im reading this, you are drifting it under an indictor. When i toss woolies I've been known to use a floating line with a fast sink leader and swing and strip back to hand, just trying to figure it all out. Might take trial and error for the rest of my life, I can only hope!
  10. Is that crawdad pattern your using dead drifted under a indicator or swing and striped back? Just wondering as Im tring to get down there next Friday. Stopped in at Toms on Wed. and he was all out of the crawdad, but he called back on yesterday and said he now has a new supply in. Well see what Ike brings in sun - mon and hopfuly be down on fri for a 5 day trip with my wife.
  11. any info on how the sale friday went?
  12. nope back to 250
  13. I always wondered about that spawning of browns vs. the bows. I guess it browns in the spring and rainbows in the fall?
  14. I dont think mdc or dnr will open it to public fishing. I talked to an agent back when Quint own it and he told me they wanted it just to use it for the haterary. they also wern't going to pay the 7 miil Quint wanted. I was told that this new, old owner payed over 3 mil. and lord knows how much more he put in it after he started working the place. Honestly I liked it best when jim was running it back in the days of "the dude ranch". It might have been a little run down but $5 bucks and you were allowed 5 fish,( in the river)
  15. Im still tring to find the acc. off hyw F. We use to fish for smallies at brickies untill last year when modot put a new bridge in and droped the water level to nothing and with all the concrete wash out in the river, seems all the fish left or died out. I drove out from Potosie on F last weekend out to Pat Daly but didnt see any acc. to the river. Guess I needed to go a little farther.
  16. I was told that Marty and Travis are still working there. The bank is going to try to finish the construction the the new guy started. That seems to me to be a major undertaking. He started alot of building and remodeling but never came close to finishing anything. I cant see it being a profitable business ever again, just to much pay for the play.
  17. Rumor has it that the bank closed up on the new owner that bought springrise from Quint. Anyone tried to go fishing there recently?
  18. Jim Meyers is the guy. Well thanks all, guess i'll have to stick to buying at the parks
  19. anyone know of this sporting goods store and if they have a website. I was told it was in that area and am tring to find out if they sell to the general public, might be wholesale only
  20. Its a common problem on the meremec. last week I was fishing and a guy with his two young boys came by in a boat commenting on how well the smallies were hitting. I looked at their rods and saw all had plastic chomper bait hanging on the end.

    Meramec Help

All the signs are up right now so finding it isn't a problem. Water is just about right now for wading, clear and low. Most of the fish I found were deep and on the bottom, their not going to chase so you gotta get it down to them. Best fly I found was a LARGE woolie fished on sinking leader, swing and strip, but stay ready, there fast on the spit. About 5 pm they started to come up and hit drys on top, but I couldn't figure out what they were rising up and feading on. tied everything I had and nothing but a couple of looks on the crackel back. White flies were droping on the water but they were not taking them. Almost looked like nats, no more than size 26. I may have had some flies that size but I could not see them in my box.
  22. Mer. is open everyday 8 -4
  23. that would be me and nice to talk to you again. Sorry for the long wait on the reply but just got back from down there , deer hunting and all, hang'n out with Sellers. Marty is still running the place up there and is not stocking as much out in the river so its been very slow for the last 2 years. water been very low also so their not washing down. We'll see what spring brings. Good talking to you again
  24. Yes it is, why , do I know you?
