  1. True that, Tallgrass product is excellent.
  2. Good, not great product from Big Sky Brewing, Missoula, Trout Nirvana, I mean Montana. I like the Mountain Pale or Pronghorn IPA better. Trout Slayer is good for when it's hot...
  3. Happy Pappy's does have top-notch pies...mmm...
  4. That's a primo hole in the upper left pic...
  5. Another great trip for the books Gavin. Nice to see there are still a few big browns left in the river.
  6. Yep, Mr. Craven's midge...
  7. Great vid, love the Pink Floyd mix! Happy New Year!
  8. Weather wasn't as warm as I had figured, and got a late start, so, every place was filled with anglers. Guess everyone had the same idea. Tried above Tan Vat and got a pretty 'bow with a smaller Pig Sticker variation. Also landed a stocked brown on a midge. Moved down to Parker and fished a nice stretch that has produced in the past, not this day, only managed another planter brown. Moved back to Tan Vat and had lunch, then hit the trail downstream to 'The Wall' and the nice turn/dead fall below it. Landed a nice rainbow. Switching flies produced this beautiful brown that measured from the top of cork to my first set of guides. This fish gave a great fight and was a great catch to finish out the year. The fly in the pic is a variation of a pattern from a tier from the state of CO whose initials are CC...heh heh. Happy New Year and I hope all your fishing days in 2012 are memorable.
  9. Nice report on the blog, good way to go out of 2011.
  10. The river's actually up from the recent rains. Warm weather should help the bite. It will be sunny though. Good luck and hopefully I'll have some, also heading down on Friday.
  11. Wonder what's in the mug?
  12. Wow! Must have strained the rod a little.
  13. Thanks man! Nice work!
  14. Nice fish, looks like it really bulked up on something, recognize the fly too. Are you holding the fish in the middle pic? It didn't upload all the way.
  15. Looks like water level went up a little, held, now dropping. Wonder if it affected the bite. I noticed it was cool/cold windt at my place of employment northeast of you guys, grey clouds, wind from the north-northwest, not good fishing weather
  16. Nice. Gotta sharpen my hunting skills...
  17. I'll press him on that, if he shows up at Sunburst. Justin can vouch for him, I'm not sure that the guy on the sticks, Mr. W., knew how to drive the lane and throw down...
  18. True that...up swing in water brings them out, nothing like stripping a streamer thru a run and having a big brown commit...
  19. Oh yeah? When I was in high school...oops won't go there . You youngsters, please...I wish for the days when I was in my 30's. I'm fired up that Jedi and I are cruising his Green Lady canoe, pulling off, fishing a run, repeat, on Saturday. Come by the cabin, crazy vertical leap Brian, got some hoop stories for you. No we didn't use a peach basket...
  20. Thanks for the update. Been tying up a storm of various patterns, including some Oct. caddis pupa's. Got plenty of small stuff I use on the Current ready to go also.
  21. Not sure how much down there, probably not enough, water down the gravel roads a little.
  22. Hoping you guys get a little rain tonight/tomorrow. Should help it a little, put some color in the clear water maybe.
  23. Just drop a detailed report from the Conclave by the cabin next week, no pressure...
  24. Interesting, they only do well in their natural waters. Thanks for the info.
