All of the White River System is now being manned solely from Table Rock Dam. 5 (or all) of the tailwaters in total. I just learned that this is in full effect... Beaver, Greers Ferry, Bull Shoals, Norkork and Taneycomo. (( all of the operations are being remotely controlled from TRD in-house ))

You guys are not alone. I spent 3 solid hours of fishing above the hornstack only to get 1 fish on a dry. The fish were rising all around.. and I tried everything. Only a sz 22 Griffiths Gnat worked. I was silent and still.. and the fish were coming up everywhere. It was maddening!

I have a 1980's model Ryobi ADV 400V something or other reel.. are they similar ? I think it says 5:4:1 ratio on the side.

cnr - ok.. you have a point. not one I recognize though. the suckers compete with the trout in taney for food... therefore.. I kill every one I can to prevent that.

I've thrown numerous suckers way, way,way up on the banks of Taneycomo to feed the minks and foxes... Its always something I know I should do.. because they are not these kinds of fish : http://en.wikipedia....Amphibious_fish ( one time I fed a fox a fish I caught down by the boat ramp out of my pontoon... the fox had been running up and down the bank.. following us as the fish we caught were splashing... when the fox was at the left of the ramp I threw a trout I had just caught up onto the ramp.. it landed in the middle at the top.. and that little guy snatched it right up! we actually watched in the moonlight as he carried it off.... )

They are usually located between the lower part of outlet 3 and below the pipe (what we call outlet 4). You can find little largemouth bass there too... and below the boat ramp you can catch smallies at the KOA rocks.

what did they have - like 3 of the float tubes ??? I like the site and the prices.. but remember to do some research and not just buy off price alone. ( just FYI - durability.. fit/finish.. or just plain usability can be comprised by trying to save a $ )

oh no.. my buddies who use this spoon are gonna be mad.. 'cause the word is out! just kidding (those buoyant spoons really work well.. I know a guy who just slays taney trout on them)

I use leaders... Rio... and I never cut the ends off like I used to do with orvis leaders. Sci-ang are kinda so-so and umpqua leaders are too specialized for my tastes... I stick to straight up Rio 9ft 5X and add 2 foot almost every time..

No - it is not barbless hooks only. ( check the link here : http://mdc.mo.gov/regulations/special/lake-taneycomo ) In fact, it is not even single hook only (i.e. treble hooks on Rapala's). Tell that clerk he is mistaken... but on the right track for easier releasing of trout!

I was able to get Yakima racks years ago.. they are fantastic. i would highly recommend them. ( if you get the right ones... you can literally unlock them and take them off your car when not needed)
