30k CFS... cubic feet per second of water being released from the dam itself.
currently 27,000cfs is what is being released, but by 4pm today - it might get to 30k.
I just learned of 24 fatalities due to this Joplin tornado, a possible mile wide and maybe EF3 winds.
It apparently happened so quickly that the storm spotters couldn't report the information fast enough.
I read there were only 5 minutes from information of funnel clouds in the area to confirmed catastrophic damage.
This is very sad news indeed. Brian
I also just found out from KY3.dot that debris has landed into the Springfield area from this storm.
This storm just ripped thru the Midwest, most notably the Joplin area.
There are a bunch of guys from this page that are from the Joplin area... hopefully this storm isn't as bad as it looks on TV.
Lets just hope they and their families are safe.
My prayers go out to everyone affected by this storm.
sincerely, Brian
What on earth is the media doing by pushing this Pujols / Chicago attachment ???
I missed the first 2 innings of this rubber game, but I see we are up 5-0 and that's a good thing to me.
Al: lemme drive up and get ya and bring back here, to Taney.... where it is actually not so bad, considering.
Phil said it could be real good with the new water pattern... as of yesterday. In a boat.........
Wait, I can't do that. I am house sitting another week. Brian
I would say 4 units in a belly boat is far too dangerous. You are just too far down in the water to not get swamped by boaters wakes or worse.
When I used my pontoon boat (white water grade 2 cataraft) in 4 units.. it was still rather scary. I ended up putting a kids orange flag sticking off the back but that idea sucked as sometimes I was hitting it with fly line.
Fishing and rowing and watching your drift and seeing whats coming up is all a lot to put together. A pontoon is great with 1 or 2... 1 is bar far the best and you can still anchor a little 10lb mushroom anchor is safe spots and fish downstream -- or you get out and wade anywhere..
My boat is the 8'6" JW Outfitters Renegade.. best frame for the money I ever found.. bought it used from a shop owner in Ark. 7ft oars are a major plus and the whole thing weighs only 42lbs.. unless while using the detachable anchor system and 10lb mushroom.
If you know anyone near you with a boat - ask if you can try it on flat warmwater. But watch out.. you'll buy one then another.. trade one.. buy another.. sell off 2 then buy another.. that's what I have done. Brian
We used to see them come out at night... wookalars's.
Scariest thing I ever did see.... the eyes would glow... and the howl.
Almost made you pee your pants a little.
6,6 tie in the 9th. Florida's been tough to beat this year.
EDIT yuck.. now it is 8-6 after Stanton's blast.
Sanchez's run couldn't have lasted forever.
and we lost
These guys had an incredible spring... can they keep it up ?
153 runs scored is just so far above what they normally produce.
It's gonna be interesting to see how they fare this season.
I am am going to listen and watch.... best KC team in 10 years seems to me.
Brian
I have switched entirely to DT lines...even though I used to be pro WF.
I learned by trial and error.
Shorter rods that are faster will benefit using a DT line... they would suffer from a WF. The line wouldn't load the rod.. and it would hurt your ability to make a good cast.
Double taper lines are the bee's knees. I just wish I would have found about them 10 years ago. Brian
(fiberglass rods need a DT line...i have found that out firsthand)
