  1. When you say "home waters", the expression conjurs up visions of my childhood. My first "keeper" was a nice sized google eye caught from under the old low water bridge above Baker's Slough on the Little Piney. It is where my passion for fishing was born so I still consider it to be my home waters even though I haven't fished it for years.
  2. To the angler that gave me info on smallmouth on the Niangua and wanted a report for this coming weekend. Sorry, I'm new at manulipulating these site tools and accidentally erased your message. We were using 1/8 ounce spinner baits for the better fish. Nickel blade with no skirt and power grup added. I used the Strike King mini with less success the next time I went, but that could have been due to the conditions that particular day.
  3. Help! I run a 40 HP Nissan tiller and the reach from my rear bench to the shift lever is way to far for efficient boat control. I have seen some of these contraptions on Johnsons but I have been all over the internet and cannot come up with one. If anyone out there knows a source, please let me know through this forum. Thanks
  4. Water level is great for floating. Weekend traffic is to heavy to enyoy fishing, but through the week it is peaceful.
  5. Just learning this stretch of the river. I learned real quick not to go on the week ends. I like to fish for goggs and have found Niangua specimens to be both healthy and good sized. Cath most on small spinner baits. I do not seem to have much success with smallies on this stretch, any advice would be appreciated as I like to keep busy waiting for the goggle-eye's evening bite.
