  1. It seems that Dam reports are hard to come by, which is sad, because I live near the dam and fish the rock 3-5 days per week and dont chime in often enough, but here goes. Water temps 59-63...kind of artificial since we've been so warm lately. IF the weather gets cooler like they say, we still wont see 1st wave of spawners until last weekend of April. But who cares, because the fish are feeding in lots of spots right now. I am a die hard spook thrower but have been amazed at what a redfin can do. Mr.Cold, if you are still 3 weeks out, then you'll hit the rock perfectly. I have picked up huge bass off beds throwing a redfin...fish just dont like that bait hovering over their nests. I will be fishing the dam area really hard the next couple weeks and will start on steep banks on the way back to spawning flats and I'll throw the redfin a bunch. Busting shad around and I'll throw the rattletrap (which produces huge walleye in the dam area fyi). If the 1st wave of spawners show up, I'll back the boat off a 1/2 cast and target the beds I can't see in the 10-15 fow range b/c I find that is where the bigger girls lay. Then...NIGHT BITE!!!!!
  2. Catching a few crappie around docks, but few and far between for me. Fished Saturday from 3-8pm, caught 9 keeper bass, 3 on a rattletrap in back of cove busting shad, one 5lb+ on bluff over a tree in 30fow on a redfin, several more on a redfin in back of coves. Caught 10 keeper bass sunday 5-7pm back of windblown coves, some on texas rig creature craw and some on redfin. If I were fishing today I would have a redfin tied on...and just throw it everywhere I could. Good luck
  3. Old question, but here goes: I have about 50 lures (mainly old wiggle warts) that need repainting, is there a number or contact close to the branson area that anyone can recommend? Thanks
  4. Went there again last sunday and faired pretty well on a wacky rig work...fish were shallow 1-5 fow.
  5. I'm biased, but Table Rock in Late April is awesome...throw a grub, fish dr., better yet, texas rig a brush hog, 10" worm then, get up early and throw a spook and late evening a spook, then fish at night and throw a 10" worm or black spinner bait... Dude, now I'm excited to fish then too...I would find it hard to believe a novice on table rock couldnt have a trip of a lifetime late april on 'the rock"...
  6. I always release my bass...its the crappie that have to watch out! Seriously though, Table Rock has lots of big fish in it, but the only way they get bigger is by releasing them. Replicas are the way to go if you are going to get a mount done anyway. In my opinion, Table Rock is really coming on strong in the last 3 years. Big fish produce big fish!! Can't wait for the night time bite to really start going too.
  7. I ended up catching several bass, my wife had one break off that was around 5lb...the table rock's frayed her line. Key was find a wind blown shore line with muddy water. Now that the cold front came, situation might change. Normally I take my Champion out to fish, but just was too windy.
  8. It was windy, but did manage to catch several bass on a white spinner bait in the dam area. This was 8.6lbs 23" long, 18" girth and swam away just fine...by the way, I caught her from shore behind my house
  9. Me and some guys from Branson fished Lake Fork last weekend...here is the deal SLOW!!!!!!!!! We fished 12 hour days with only a few fish, then we decided to night fish and it was ON!!! Here is a 8lb pig I caught, also caught some over 6 and 7lbs. Best bite was black spinner bait and/or texas rigged 10" worm. Lots of great night time action. If I were to do it again, I would have slept during the day and fished only at night. PM me if you are going there soon and I'll tell you where we caught em and more detail Regards
  10. Hey all, I am fishing Lake Conway this weekend with a buddy for crappie, but was wondering how the bass fishing is on that lake? Any inside in crappie or bass would be appreciated, not looking for spots to fish, just general lake information, depth, types of fish....thanks
  11. smallies....what, where, !!!! details man!!!
  12. I'm heading to Maui in a couple weeks and was wondering if anyone here has been shore fishing in Hawaii. I have done the charter boat thing in the past out there, but never reef fishing. If you have and can lend advice, species to target, what not to do, etc...please let me know. There is a lot of info on the web, but I was looking for a trusted source. Thanks
  13. That is awesome you guys are caching bedding fish right now...who knew in January? Anyway, I dont plan on fishing it anytime soon, but it sounds sweet. Any size to the fish? Just curious. I'll be fishing table rock this weekend...no spawners yet lol
  14. Anyone been lately? Just curious, it might be a good weekend to try it out
  15. What a great report..I have hunted table rock last year a couple times with moderate success, but am always leary about the homes around the lake when I shoot; otherwise lower taneycomo is perfect!!
  16. PM received and right back at ya")
  17. Any offers? I am really ready to get this out of the house...
  18. My loss, your gain...I received this brand new Eagle 640c directly from the factory in June 2010. I was going to put this on my deck boat, but ended up selling the deck boat shortly thereafter. I purchased a Champion boat that already had awesome electronics on it and did not need the eagle. I paid $345 dollars for this Eagle and have the direct paperwork from the factory to prove it with brand new, never been used transducer. It is a color unit, no gps capabilities. I would sell it for $200 and I live in the Branson area. Thanks
  19. Yes, Buds is a good place to shop, but tax, ffl fee and shipping sometimes get ya.
  20. Sorry, sold the Taurus today, but do have another Taurus, a .38 Ultralight I'd take $350 for firm... The attached pic is what it looks like. Thanks
  21. BRANSON
  22. I have a 2009 Taurus PT145 .45 caliber, less than 50 rounds through it, includes 2 clips, original case and papers. It shoots fine $360obo. I have a .32 Davis made in Chino, CA...nothing wrong with it either, would be a great CCW gun or something for the glovebox. $160obo (I picked this gun up at an auction FYI). I am just cleaning the closets and making room for new toys I live in the Branson area FYI so PM me with ?'s Thanks
  23. I probably have 50-75 original warts and 25 newer wiggle warts. I find them both to have some that "run" better than others in both categories...much like a redfin, some work better than others. All that to say, confidence is huge when it comes to fishing and you must be mentally prepared to consistantly catch fish. I was "married" to my early spooks for years until I lost some of them and had to buy newer ones, but ya know what...after some modification the new ones catch fish too.

    Mexico

Lilley and I went down to Amistad last April, fishing was good, but with all the violence there on the border, I wouldn't be in a hurry to get back there. Southern California has some excellent fishing as well as Texas. I would check out texasfishingforum.com and look at some Texas lakes. Lake Fork has over 30 of the top 50 big bass caught in the state. Florida has some excellent bass fishing too. Good luck and be safe.
  25. Oddly enough, go to TPA Hobby Store in Hollister, they have excellent paint guns and paints for hobbiest and they carry special paint for lure. They are EXPERTS in their field.
