"AND TIP THEM W/ NIBBLERS"????????????????? WHAT IS A NIBBLER AND WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY "TIP THEM"???? SORRY FOR MY IGNORANCE, JUST NEVER USED OR SEEN THIS METHOD, I USUALLY USE A LIGHTWEIGHT JIG AND A TYPE OF PLASIC OF MY CHOICE (MINNOW, GRUB, ETC)....

sounds like i should have waited until the sun went down ....never been night fishing down there, may have try that sometime...maybe when there isnt 4 generators running

i had picked up a side/weekend job so i worked all day saturday, stayed at the parents house in kimberling, and was able to be in the water @ 7:15 am sunday....caught 1 one a sow scud (single, no dropper)..had to be at the job site @ 9:00 so 1 fish in about an hour & 20 minutes of fishing (real slow in outlet 1)....worked until 1:30...fished from about 1:30 to 3:00 @ #2, caught 2 on sow scud (single,no dropper), jetted over to outlet 1, fish were going CRAZY on topwater, tied on a dry fly w/ no luck... finally got my hands on what they were feeding on, turned out to be hatchery fish pellets....decided to call it a day!! i am currently looking into how to tie up floating hatchery pellet!!

that would be great....i really have no idea how to create or utilize this loop thing....pics or even a link would be a great deal of help!!! as you can tell i need all the help i can get!!

THANKS TERRY, i think i have this scud 5 different ways now...probably time to move on to something else!! hahaha i have never tried using the loop for dubbing though...may need to try that!! as for weight.. i was at taney all day sunday and caught fish on unweighted and when it slowed down i put on one of the first scuds i had tied w/ weight (absolutly ugly, wire showing and all) and ended catching a good size bow w/ it, so it's tough to say which direction to go!!! thanks for all the input guys!!! simon

WHEN ADDING THE DUBBING: I WAS TAUGHT TO TWIST THE DUBBING ONTO THE THREAD...IS THERE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN MAKING THE LOOP? DOES ANYONE WEIGHT THE HOOK DOWN (LEAD WIRE)? P.S. I HAVE ONLY BEEN TYING SIZE 16....AND HAVE ONLY BEEN TYING FOR ABOUT A MONTH NOW ALSO!!

hello to all, i am headed down this weekend to try my luck! does anyone have any input on what colors of scuds i should tie up? anyone done any good down there lately?

well i must confess....i have dropped my fly and indicator 5 feet upstream from my feet to watch my fly action...half was to check the action the other half was fishing for 5 hours straight and not catching a darn thing...so i do apologize, yet i never did shuffle!!! now i was down there about 3 weeks ago and had a father a two sons "shuffling" the father was staying in one place across the river....while the two kids zigzaged up and down from the wire to outlet 1 catching fish hand over fist!!! i was pissed but at the same time i thought "let the kids have their fun" maybe they will learn sportsmanship later on!!

thanks for the input terry.......i too am new to fly fishing, i have been the last three weekends in a row and must say i am addicted!!! my biggest problem seems to be the proper length of tippe, whether or not to use a leader or just tie it straight to the fly line, size of tippe, and finally placement of the split shots? it took me awhile to figure the perfect setup and still need to do some adjusting....it is fun and i love the challenge!! what knot would you guys recommend when setting up the tandem rig? i have been told you tie it the bend of the hook correct? thanks, simon

HELLO TO ALL...I AM NEW TO THE FORUM, YET A 11 YEAR VETERAN OF TABLE ROCK! I WENT OUT THIS WEEKEND(5/5 & 5/6) YET DIDNT DO VERY WELL AT ALL....ONE LITTLE BUCK BASS.....AND I THREW EVERYTHING IN THE BOAT AT THEM!!! WE COVERED ALOT OF WATER TOO..FISHED ALOT OF POINT AND COVES FROM KC TO CAPE FAIR AREA AND THE SAME SATURDAY FROM KC TO INDIAN POINT!!! WE SEEN ALOT OF FEEDING GOING ON NEAR THE SHORE AND EVEN HAD VISUAL OF THEM HANGING OUT ON THE SHORE YET WOULDNT HIT ANYTHING ARTIFICIAL!! I WAS JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE DID ANY GOOD OUT THERE AND IT WAS JUST NOT MY WEEKEND OR IF OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME FRUSTRATIONS?? THANKS, SI
