  1. Some skeletons are better left uncovered...unless, of course, you want to tell us about your second set
  2. Nice report. Thanks!
  3. I've gotta agree with the Dutch Master on this one...if your son is "very" allergic to poison ivy he shouldn't ingest the stuff. The linings of the trachea, esophagus and lungs are susceptible to reaction and will swell. And for this very reason, don't burn the foliage or vines as well because the oils can be inhaled from the smoke.
  4. patv, I don't have any first-hand knowledge of the Orvis outfit... but if you live in the STL area, check these guys out: Ozark FF They are an excellent resource and offer many classes for all levels of fisherpeople Mostly, you just have to get out there and fling some line. Good luck!
  5. What have y'all found as the best way to transport a canoe on the top of an SUV on the highway? Rack system? Foam blocks?
  6. Dude, "crazy" doesn't even come close. It has to be the worst place to try and fish in the summer on the weekends. If you must, be there at sun up and fish the downstream sections until the aluminum shows up. Then pack it up and don't return until the last couple hours before sunset. By that time, the section below the trout park should be good. There are many other options that aren't as freaking nuts within an hour of Steeleville if you're looking for more solitude. 7. Hire a guide from Lilley's Landing! Are you any relation to Paul Dallas?
  8. Perhaps we could coin that "The Aluminum Shuffle."
  9. Dang DF, unless you're planning on putting in around 6 am, every fish in the Current is gonna spaz out at the first major aluminum assault of the season. If you are puttin in early...leeches, buggers and prince nymphs are always good producers. Good luck.
  10. i thought fer sure you snagged it forsythian.
  11. wish you'ns lived in my neck of the woods.
