I got an old map from the 70's that calls them "the Ellison Flats".......spelling and sounds in AR has never been a big deal.......BTW, the AB Fine Ramp was built by NASA....
Jeff
I thought it was 'Ellison' Flats.....It is on lake left below Tucker Hollow before you go down into Horseshoe Bend.......Good spooning and dragging area

Fishing was only fair......caught a good number but were scattered.......caught some on the white jigs and sowbugs and eggs 5 to 10 ft deep.....they took the water up over 200 and kept it there.....Water was very trashy but some fish were taking something small on the surface about 4pm but no dry fly fish today...Had a little spell in the heat and we quit about 6pm......drink plenty of fluids this weekend

Happy Independence Day.....
Will be fishing the upper Taney end if they turn the water up to a 100-150 as they are supposed too.......Trying some new stuff and gonna get some jigs from Lilley's and see what happens....Will be in a blue 520 Ranger with a Merc.....stop by and say hello.....Report tonight if of any value for the weekend....

Pop R's, Zara puppies, Popping Bugs, Baby Flukes and agree with AA on the Buzz Baits.......There will be some huge blow ups and when you hook the fish, you won't believe how small they are......The warmer the water the better.....It ain't the 70's but there are alot of bass in the river
Jeff
Saw Phil's post earlier on the dry fly fishing and had to try it......Took the Ranger up behind Rebar Island to start and didn't want to crowd Chuck and his customers fishing the North Bank.....Had the Rogue on a spinning rod and caught 7 in a couple passes with one 21 1/2 inch Bow.....Rigged a deep indie rig with a brown sow #14 with a #8 heavy Czech to get it down and caught 4 pretty quick.....It clouded up a little and I tied on a #6 orange Sofa Pillow with 8# Maxima tippet and started beating the bank....From the Narrows to the 'leaning tree' they were on and caught 7 and lost 4 more.....had three or 4 lookers below Fall Creek Dock but no captures......The fish were feisty and the takes were 'no doubters' just as in Phil's vid.......Caught one on an eddy point and the rest were in current....Thanks Phil, it was a great trip and will see you again soon

We used to soak our fish in salt water then 7-UP for a couple hours then hot grease....those stripers would be a fun tussel....They would be a handful on a 6 weight and cold water.......Gotta get back up there soon

Looked like to me you were practicing your catching.....That video was great......I wonder in the colored water if a darker bodied Dry would be any better.....We have caught a good number of fish on the White on the bigger Cicadas which are dark bodied.....Gonna bring my Ranger up over the weekend and fish some Dry Flies...will stop by and see you and Lisa.....Thanks for the good reports and to BB over on Table Rock...
Got just what you need.....Bought a Clacka with a 6 horse Honda Long Shaft......2009 and less than 3 hours...I've never used it.....It's clean and I had Dave at Performance Marine in Lead Hill check it out....It cost 1800 and I'm asking 1100.......I know that's more than you want to pay but just saw the want..........I might even deliver to you.......

Any hook that ends in SPBL by Tiemco......Partridge, Hanak, Skalka, Dohiku.....Very few barbed any more except for Stones and Streamers.....Cost matters but catching makes me the happiest.....As a function of rod and reel cost, even a boat, hooks are a small piece of this.......Buy the best hooks you can find and buy good flurocarbon......SPBL = Confidence in my book
