If there is anyone out there interested in joining a bass club loaded with good fisherman and interested in learning how to fish Table Rock then you are welcome to come join the fun. The December club meeting is tomorrow December 4th at the Kimberling City American Legion Hall at 7 pm. We currently have 33 members and fish at least one tournament a month, mostly on Table Rock. This is a great bunch of guys who like to share knowledge and really enjoy the friendly competition. If you have any questions feel free to instant message me.

Had a question for anyone that has problems keeping fish alive during night tournaments. I just purchased a 2011 Nitro and have had major problems keeping fish alive. My old bass boat did not have this problem. Fished last night and had a nice limit with a 4 lb kicker. Kept the livewell on manual recirc and manual areate. Iced it twice with two block ice. Treated the water with catch and release. I ended up losing two fish, the 4lber and another keeper.... probably had 12lbs and a nice check but couldn't even weigh in due to the loss. Did also notice my water was hot by weigh in. I would think that 2 blocks of ice on just one side would keep the water cold enough. My fish are always well taken care. Have caught several big fish up to 30 feet and have had no problem keeping them alive. I did look up a previous post about this that another member had, it was basically the same issue. I wonder if the issue was ever resolved?

I too guide on TR and Bull mostly in the summer because I teach. I don't wear glasses so my vision is pretty good... 20/20 in fact. I was fishing Bull last week, and what do ya know. Little flat cuts in the creek arms with 100's, yes 100's of little 6in lmb. I threw a small stick bait at them, and what do ya know I caught a 6in lmb. Then I caught another then another.... you get the point. I don't post much on this board but sometimes I gotta back up people that have good info to share. Thanks Bry for the good info and everyone else as well. Back to teaching...

Small Tourny Out Of Cow Creek Tomorrow 12/18/10
tpierce replied to tpierce's topic in Table Rock Lake
Should be fun but I bet I'll be donating tomorrow, but hey, it's only $60! Have fun studying! I'm glad those days are over. -
For those interested in fishing a small buddy tournament with a minimal entry fee, there is one going out of Cow Creek ramp tomorrow at 7 am to 3 pm. The entry is $50 and $10 for big bass. It should be layed back and enjoyable.

December is upon us and the fishing is heating up. This has to be one of my favorite times of year when the fish move shallow. I went out with my seven year old Wed and had a decent day, with 5 keepers total. 10 on a spinnerbait shallow (mostly small), 4 on a jig, 1 on a crank, 1 on a topwater. Water temp was 57-58 on the main lake. Not alot of fish showing on the graph 10ft or less but with the weather turning cold, water temps will drop and numbers will increase in the shallows. The Table Rock Bassmasters will have their monthly club meeting this Tuesday evening, Nov 30th, at 7 pm at the Kimbling Inn meeting room in Kimberling City. This meeting will be the last one of the 2010 season and all are welcome. If you are wanting to join a club to learn more about fishing Table Rock lake or are looking for FRIENDLY competition, or just want to make new friends this is a great group of guys. There are guys that have been members of this club since the early 70's that have such a vast knowledge of the lake. I teach school, coach and tourny fish a little and I look forward to club meetings and club tournies more than most everything else I'm involved with. We fish at least once every month, mostly on Table Rock. There are no entry fees for tournaments since we fish for points. We are a BASS Federation club and about half the members fish to make the team in Sept. 4 members made the 12 man Missouri State Fed team in 2009 and we had 1 member make the 12 man team this year. There are a total of 34 members in this club with ages ranging in the early 70's to late 20's. January is the start of the 2011 season so it's a great time to come on board if you've been looking for an organization like this. If you have any questions feel free to send me an instant message or you can email me at my school email which is tpierce@hollister.k12.mo.us

I've posted here before about the Table Rock Bassmasters bass club. Great group of guys around 33 members total. Very knowledgable about the lake deep or shallow. They put 4 guys on the Missouri State Federation 12 man team this last fall out of 180 people from clubs all around the state and locally. Check out the web site, if you're interested let me know. Take care.

What is your favorite jerkbait set up? Rod/reel: I prefer a spinning rod for casting and control with a fast tip. Line: This is where I'm unsure. I've been using 8-10lb test flouro (for sensitivity and clarity) but sometimes snap fish off on the hook set. I'm sure there's a flaw in the line but I'm leaning towards mono.
-
Don't know what the problem is yet but I'll post when I find out.
-
That's good to hear. I don't mind paying someone good money if they do quality work. At this point I plan on taking it to Bruce at Tangora's to see what he has to say about it.
-
Any info on Tangora's Marine out of Nixa? I've had a recommendation to have them rebuild my Merc 200 EFI. It's looking like $3200-3500 if there is no damage to the block. The last rebuilt 2 and a half years ago only cost me $2200. I don't want to drive half way across the state...I'm sure there are quality mechanics around the Table Rock area. I just don't want to get taken to the cleaners. It's hard to track how many hours they actually spend rebuilding, so you can charge an extra $100 here $300 there.

T Rock Bassmasters Club Update And New Season...
tpierce replied to tpierce's topic in Table Rock Lake
We measure and release all fish over 15" to the nearest quarter inch. The partner you draw measures your fish and vice versa. It is a great system and seems to have worked for years. The club has been around for over 30 years now so I don't think it will die anytime soon. In fact, years ago, the club did a three year study and was instrumental in proving to the DOC that Kentuckys grow larger than 15 inches and blocked the implementation of the 12 inch length limit in TRock. Not so on several other MO impoundments, such as Bull and LOZ. I must say I've learned alot these past few years from the old guard in the club. As for today's results...let's just say it all started by getting to my spot that was about a 10 minute run and coming off plane and hearing that knock, knock, knocking out from under my engine cowling. 2 blown engines in two years. My brother has blown two in a 6-8 month span. Unbelievable! On top of it, I have babied my motor since the rebuild. I know for a fact my brothers diagnosis was water infusion. Which means more than likely a local service station had water in their fuel. Stupid me I gassed up this morning at the same station. I'm not naming the station but I really believe there is something to the ethanol thing we're reading about. I ended up catching 8 keeps, 3 cranking, 5 on the jig. 3rd place heavy boat, 1st heavy sack... I think. My card was turned in while I was floating around waiting for my trailer to be brought around to me. Good thing my brother was in the area otherwise I might still be adrift!!!! Anyway, the day didn't end up like I had envisioned. -
This Saturday is the Table Rock Bassmasters last club tourny. It's been a great year with many quality sacks and fish weighed in. The fishing is actually very good right now. Last Sunday's Anglers in Action tourny had 35 boats entered and I believe there were 23 limits caught. I'll give some results after tomorrow's club tourny. Tuesday, Jan 5, 2010 will be the start of a new season. If anyone is interested in joining a BASS affiliated club feel free to contact me. There are several quality members in the club, 33 total, that would love to share some of their knowledge. We are a catch, measure, and release club. We don't fish for $, just points. This years club placed 4 members out of 12 on the Missouri Bass Federation State Team to fish the central divisionals in May. This is almost unheard of to have that many place so high considering there were approx 270 fisherman vying for those 12 coveted spots. If you're interested give a holler. If not, keep chuckin and a windin!! Merry Christmas!

Definately not complaining about CPA fishing this weekend I just think it will be interesting, launching wise, especially if Mill Creek ramp is closed. Our lake is plenty big enough for that many boats, it should be a good time.
-
It will be a crowded lake this weekend. The Missouri BASS Federation state tournament will take out of the Kimberling area as well with around 200 boats. I have no clue why CPA chose this weekend, the state tournament has been on the schedule since last November.

Hoping to find a Lowrance LGC 2000 gps antenna. Any help would be appreciated. Tucker email: tpierce@hollister.k12.mo.us

Our next Table Rock Bassmasters club meeting will be next Tuesday, Sept 22 at 6 pm at the pavilion of Our Lady of the Cove Church in Kimberling City. This is a cookout so you will need to bring your own beverages and a good appetite. The Corps of Engineers will be sending a rep to talk at this months meeting. This meeting is open to anyone wanting to join a BASS affiliated club in the TRock area. We just had a new member, a 19yr old, join at the last meeting. Ages now range between 19yrs old and mid 70s. This is a good bunch of guys with alot of local knowledge. September's club tourny should be great, the fish are biting very well! Email me if you have any questions: tpierce@hollister.k12.mo.us

I too hope it's not illegal to plant our own brush, I'm pretty sure it's not, because our club has planted hundreds of piles over the last several years with the support of Bass Pro and recognition from BASS. I think this is a Cutting issue, nothing more. Tucker

bow, I grew up in KS but live and guide some on TRock now. Wilson doesn't have a lot of cover, some grass, so obviously you'll have to focus on structure such as secondary's and transition areas. Wilson will definately be further along when it comes to changing seasons. I would think that those fish will definately be catchable in late Sept. along those transition spots and secondary's. A wiggle wart works good on that lake. Top water over some of the few grass patches (watch out for stripers) and then jigs and plastics. Hope that helps...go cats!!!!!

The Table Rock Bassmasters out of the Kimberling City area will be having its next meeting on June 9th at 6:30pm at the Our Lady of the Cove Catholic Church pavillion. We are cooking out so it is waaaay laid back for those looking to come and take a look. There have been a few posts as of late as to how to figure these fish out and my best advice is to join a club that is willing to teach new members how to fish this lake. The club currently has 32 members so I'm definately not recruiting, just inviting those good people that are wanting to join a bass club and learn more than they already know. Last Saturday's club tourny was won by Pat Dial and Rand Woods with a combined stringer of 37 lbs +. Pat's stringer went 19 lbs +.

Mentioned earlier this week we were taking some 12-13 yr. olds from Hollister (Table Rock Jr. Bassmasters). We were looking for as many bites as we could get. I appreciate info about where there were some whites biting on TRock (you know who you are). Decided after reading the reports that the upper end of Bull Shoals was the spot for our crew. I had 3 boys in my boat, my brother had his 7th grade daughter and another 8th grade girl from the club, and Tim had two other boys. Started up one of the feeder creeks at about 8 am and started catching some small bass, a white or two, and crappie. Couldn't really find the whites so we started throwing grubs out of our boat and caught them steady the rest of the day. Ended up with 29 bass, mixed bag, with 3 keepers. Three slab crappie and a small walley and a couple of gills just for fun. Best part of the day was watching one of the boys catch them on a grub, who had never fished artificials before and land the biggest bass of the day which was close to 4lbs. "I thought I was caught on the bottom!" was his direct words as he lipped the chunk. The other boats had similar results with some keeper spinnerbait fish caught as well. Great time. I've guided for a while now in the area and I guarantee that was more fun than trying to please paying adult fisherman. Take care and take a kid fishing... there's nothing better! Tucker

SKMO, Thanks for the report. I posted yesterday that I will be taking some youth out Thursday with some other adults from our club and was thinking about the Kings. Also herd that Beaver creek on the Bull had some whites runnin. If you go out tomorrow or Wed. let us know how ya did. Thanks.
-
Taking out 6 youth from our Jr. Bass Club from Hollister. Instead of specifically targeting bass I want to start the year off with a bang with these kids and want to get them as many bites of any species as possible. I figure with the warm temps, Thursday ought to be pretty good. Probably target whites, crappie and bass up either (Long, Cricket, Yokum) area or the Kings due to proximity and time. If anyone gets on some biters up the creeks please keep us posted. I'm not even worried about size, ala small male whites. Thanks.

Table Rock Bassmasters Club Tourny Last Sun. 1/4...
tpierce replied to tpierce's topic in Table Rock Lake
Doug, Our next meeting for Feb. is the first Tuesday at the Kimberling Inn at 7:00 p.m. Club dues are $55 for the year. It is $5 for the tournament and if you plan on ever using your boat you will need a copy of your insurance so we can get you set up with BASS. Our club just put out several loads of brush piles today with our annual habitat improvement (I missed it unfortunately). Silver Dollar City gives us boat loads of trees...pretty cool. I don't have your number but if you want to give me a call on my cell it's 417 230 5949. Take care. Tucker
