  1. Lots of water! All four generators ran the entire day while we were there. On Monday April 6th I fished with Brett Rader who owns Chartered Waters. We went to Roark Creek (mile marker 13 by the Branson Landing area) and went all the back by the condo's that are there. We never left. The fishing was awesome and I caught at least 40-50 fish in 3 1/2 hours using an olive colored jig under a strike indicator. Size ranged from about 10 inches to one 20 incher. Good fight too! Seriously, I stopped fishing for a few minutes to light my fishing trip cigar! What fun. One of my sons joined me on Tuesday and we fished off the dock. We used drift rigs and caught quite a few and caught several on the drop. Wednesday we went back to Roark Creek, but my wife had a car accident and we had to stop after only 10 minutes of fishing. Kind of a scary moment. Do worry, she'll be fine and no, she's never going on a fishing trip with us again! (just kidding) Naturally, we stayed at Lilley's. In my opinion, Lilley's is the best place to stay on Lake Taneycomo. Did I mention there was lots of water? Back again soon, hopefully before the annual family vacation in June.
  2. I would be interested in purchasing one.
  3. Congratulations to the entire Lilley family and the staff! Without a shadow of a doubt, Lllleys's Landing is the premier resort on Lake Taneycomo. Your attention to detail in keeping the rooms clean, the gounds landscaped, the pool spotless and the dock pristine all combine for a great location to stay. Our family has been coming to the Branson area their entire lives. The annual "Koogler Family Vacation" is always a blast and staying at Lilley's is a big part of that success. Thanks for all of your efforts over the years.
  4. I fish Taney and always stay at Lilley's when I do. It's the best place on Taney, in my opinion. When we fish the North Fork of the White in Arkansas, we stay here: http://www.genestroutfishingresort.com/ Very nice and, like Lilley's , right on the water.
  5. Brett is a great guide. I stay at Lilley's every summer and he is our go-to guide. I have caught some big fish with Brett, most notably a 28", 15' rainbow. He made me a perfect replica of that fish. After taking a few quick pics, I released it for others to enjoy that fight!
  6. Phil, that's just awesome on your and Ryan's part. Thanks!
  7. I remember Brett telling me that you had contacted him about catching the same fish! I certainly remember the Heron strike on that fish. You're correct too. I am 6' 2" 285 lbs. Three guys catching the same fish! Let's do it again with another fish. I also attached a picture of the replica I had made. It now sits on the credenza of my home office. Puts a smile on my face every time I look at it.
  8. I caught this Rainbow couple years ago up by the dam. 15lbs 28inches. Best fight I ever had from a Rainbow. I got all the vitals, took a picture and had a replica made of him.
  9. Hi, My name is Bob Koogler. I have been trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo since I was an adolescent and love it! I recently retired (I am 57) but have always traveled to Branson 4-5 times a year with my family to enjoy fishing and the area attractions. For years we stayed at Brill's Rainbow Resort in downtown, but it got mowed down to make room for the Branson Landing. Since that time we have always stayed at Lilley's Landing and we LOVE it! In November of 2008 I caught the fish of my dreams: a 15lb; 28 inch rainbow. I took pictures and measurements of it and released it. I then had a replica made of the fish and I get to see it everyday. My wife and I have four children (2 boys age 30 & 25; / 2 girls age 29 & 19). The guys are really good fishermen and their hand/eye coordination fishing jigs under a strike indicator are faster than mine! I tried to get my daughters into fishing but they just didn't care for it. We are coming down for another trip 12/1-4 and staying at Lilley's so perhaps we will run into each other. Regards, Bob
