  1. If you go on the site and print the order form all of those maps are available for free. Send in the order form and they send you a huge foldable map with all of the trout areas on it with detailed information.
  2. I am still using my origional fishing vest that I have had for more than ten years. It was on sale I think 30$, and I just sewed the zippers back on it this last week. I love my vest but I have been eyeballing some chest packs. I dont "need" all the stuff I carry I just like knowing that it is there. I will convert one day I am sure.
  3. i live close and just started fishing there as well. I have found a few decent spots but have also been skunked a few times. I am still trying to find my way around there. If anyone would care to meet up sometime i have been going on the nice weekends for a couple of hours. I am also going to try to make it down there this thurs around 2 or 3. I would love to have a little help finding the right access points to some spots, i am still just not sure where to go.
  4. i use the system x boxes and really like them you can really cram a lot of stuff in them i have two and for now that seems like enough. i am sure as i learn more i will buy more inserts. i tend to be very organized and will research before i leave the house and swap out what i think i will need and then add twice as much as i need. i am sure that i am missing fish but sometimes i like to fish a certain fly for no reason. i use dries and nymphs the most as well as some small buggers. terrestrials are my favorite.
  5. that is where the majority of all my stuff came from. I usually call him and have my wife pick up when she goes. thanks for the tip though.
  6. i think i was there the same day. i just started fishing at capps and i really enjoy it. the first time i went out i caught 2 browns and 4 rainbows. the second time i went i caught 2 browns and 1 Rainbow. all released. the next two time that i went down i fished close to the parking lot at the mill and was totally skunked. this was jan 9th and 10th. went in from bridge all the way up to the dam. saw some but nobody wanted what i was selling. i dont want to know spots but are there fish being caught up by the darn and bridge area and maybe some ideas on what to use.
  7. new to the site and am glad i found it. I live in Aurora, Mo. i just started tying my own flies and really diving in to trout fishing. I do enjoy going to the trout parks (Bennet and Roaring River) but I have recently discovered Jolly Mill. I have not made it to Crane or Hickory yet. I am trying to practice up and make sure that the spawn is over before I attempt Crane. I would sure hate to do any accidental damage to a true wild trout population. Thanks for the time. Leave it better than you found it.
