  1. Got to fish for roughly a 1/2 hour today. Darn white bass came undone.
  2. Was playing on the web this morning, what else do you do when it's 2 degrees and to cold to fish. It is going to be a good one, heard they smacked them pretty good with some bigguns.
  3. Went out for a few hours yesterday afternoon in Tan-tar-a area fishing backs, secondary points and some main lake points. Fishing was slow for us catching a nice fatty pushing 3 lbs on a rogue and had another foul hooked on the a-rig, oh I that that one was a pig but just a 16 inch keeper. Didn't take advantage of the wind we had which was probably a mistake. We did have a double with 3 big whites on a main lake point with wind, should have turned around and had some fun ?.
  4. Oh yes they do, it's just plastic ?
  5. Maybe Point Randall Resort 1-573-365-2081
  6. We skip boat docks here at LOZ quite a bit and for me I use a old Chronarch 50 mg. Here is what 5bites said awhile back when the subject came up and this is a great skipping reel as to what he is talking about. I use 17 and 20 lb fluoro with very little backing as the reel spool is shallow and it works perfectly FOR ME. Shallow light spools start up quick and that's what you want. Not only that, they stop quick when the lure stops moving. They don't have the inertia of a heavy deep spool that keeps going after the lure stops whatever the reason may be.
  7. All that kneeling down to shoot under dock and back up I'd be sore for three days ?. Good job!
  8. Went out from noon to 4. Water temps have dropped around 5 degrees to 50-51 since I was last out. Was a bit chilly today but not to bad if dressed for it. Helmet is a savior this time of year when running. Caught fish on jigs around docks and some on a-rig over brush piles.
  9. For the rod / reel setup I use, a basspro 7'6" extendable heavy action ($40 rod) with a Old Shimano Chronarch 100 mg reel using 50 lb braid I believe it is.
  10. I believe it is the flash mob jr. With small willow blades with various paddle tail swim baits
  11. Yes there were, Jamie Enyard won it with 21.26 and last paying slot (7th) were Dion/Lawson with 16.30. I would have loved to fish today but rain in morning with temps in 30s and driving boat from 28 mm to Pb2 just to start tourney didn't sound fun. Bigguns are definitely biting, heard there is a good jig bite going on.
  12. Wow I love this time of year! Fish biting and I only saw a total of 3 boats all day (11 to 4) with 1 being a bass boat, 1 pontoon and 1 go fast boat. Felt like I was on my own little pond. Had 8 fish with 5 keepers all on the a-rig. Failed to find any monsters today.
  13. Congrats! Glad you were able to get on em.
  14. Bounce around a little and you will find them, of course shad are key this time of year
  15. A buddy of mine lives in Bollinger creek and he said they are up there as well
  16. You said you were in linn creek area, did you try the back of linn creek? I have not been back there but I would think the whites should be back there somewhere. As for the black bass put your boat up against the bank and parallel the bank with a topwater and cover water, it is feast or famine. We were doing good with the whites throwing a Little Cleo spoon in 1/8 oz blue/silver.
  17. Nice sunny pretty fair weather days are not always the best fishing days as we all know ?.
  18. Well all I can say is I wish I would have got out early, went out around noon and fished till 3 before a downpour and honeydews got me off lake. Fished down a long stretch of bluff throwing buzz bait and whopper plopper with only a couple of Ks to show. Got inside of a main lake point and lost a keeper LM and then caught a keeper and worked towards back and had a 5+. All in all it was pretty slow but you hit the right area and it happens in a hurry ?. All fish caught on topwater. Water temps 59-60. Everyone have a great holiday.
  19. Hehe!! I was waiting for that. ?
  20. Yes it is pricey to fish and I believe most if not all monies raised thru auction goes toward payouts. There were 25 boats and they paid 7 places and 2 big bass. $1,000 for amateur BB and a team BB. So good payouts for only 25 boats. You did not have to bid in auction, whomever was left after auction and the silent auction were paired up in a drawing I believe. And anyone of the pro anglers were more than capable to take a check.
  21. If you like to catch white bass go to back of coves and if there is shad they will be there. As far as the black bass put trolling motor on high and cover water with a top water. You can catch some nice Kentucky bass on main lake points and corners of docks with whopper plopper as well. Was out last night in linn creek area and had 3 big blow ups on buzz bait which were bigguns, should have put a trailer hook on. You say go out if weather is decent, I would say go out if it is nasty and windy ? as they bite a lot better. This pict is from the back of a cove I have been catching whites from.

  23. Sykora wins with a 25+ lb. bag! Wow!
  24. Very backs of coves and flat pea gravelly point banks, SHALLOW. You get 4 foot or so off bank reel your stuff in and redo.
