  1. its funny you say that you don't get your stuff back when you get the law involved, the guy (Keith Clark from Peculiar, MO) that took our boats out of slips at TR and had a warehouse full of fishing equipment that some guys in club claimed have never got a call about their equipment. I heard that he got off scot-free on one of the many charges against him. Never heard what happened to the rest of the charges or the warehouse of equipment?
  2. I would watch ebay and craigslist for starters.
  3. will have to look for the little stinger hooks, thanks! Jason and dtrs5kprs, thanks for the comments on spooning, will try a few docks at next tourney at LOZ in September
  4. thats crazy! them are some big trees too
  5. I am new at the spoon gig, but have caught a few fish doing it and lost more than I have caught. I only get down to TR a couple times a year. I have been using 15 lb. Invisx with a 7 ft IMX Heavy rod, but am afraid if I try to get into the tight spaces I will be in trouble. What kind of line do you guys use for this application. thanks!
  6. I know that Leon and Jody have been trying to sell for awhile now. Jody said they have had some real interest and were working on details. A guy that bought campgrounds around there is also looking at Schooner Creek.
  7. I here the white spoon works best in anywhere from 1/2 oz. to 1 oz. Is there any particular brands that are better than others or is a spoon a spoon? Or any other tricks people do with their spoons? Sometimes have problem with the line catching in the treble with a BPS spoon.
  8. Another thing to remember with the shakyhead is that if you do not fish slowly with this bait you will be pulling the bait out of their mouth before you know it. It is amazing that sometimes with this bait they will just be there without you ever seeing or feeling a strike. That is why I use Seaguar InVisX 15 lb. test, 3/8 oz stand-up, even at TR. I love the Maxima line but the InVisX gives you twice the sensitivity in my opinion.
  9. Bill, Will call you when I get down. thanks
  10. I agree with hiring a guide, I have wasted money on so-called guides, but this lake is full of great guides, several of which talk with each other on and off the lake. I have had a guide trip with Bill Beck and would definitely recommend him as well as Bill Babler as both talk to each other as previously said. Jerry Rapp has a great point in that if you really want to learn the lake you need to get a guide in spring, summer, and the fall and be a sponge and absorb everything they are saying.
  11. So 400 anglers, I'm guessing maybe 250 boats since some anglers fishing alone
  12. Last year the smallies were tearing up the crawfish, and they were definitely brown/green/orange for sure last year. Every time you swung a smallie in with head a shaking crawfish went flying in the boat.
  13. How many boats are registered for the BBB? I am curious because we have a club tourney and are looking to change our hours around to fish a day/night or start earlier than usual if there will be boats everywhere. How many boats has this tourney drawn at TR in the past. It was crazy at LOZ this spring for BBB, bass boats everywhere. If there are only going to be 200 to 250 boats TR will eat them up and it shouldn't be to bad I would think. thanks
  14. Anyone been on the lake around 10 mm to the dam, interested in water color, water temp? thanks
  15. I would recommend Golden Horseshoe Resort, they are cheaper than Alhonna and resort is clean, they are just around the corner from Alhonna
  16. Like fishinwrench said, you can go to the very back of coves or any spawning area and pitch BEHIND the docks, the bass are spawning NOW. If there is any laydowns back there make a long cast with a buzzbait, even if it is bluebird skies. Doesn't work all the time but had 4 good keeps this weekend during the day doing this, biggest about 4.5 lbs. Good fishin!
  17. Wow! I am surprised to hear the water is still fairly clear with all the rain, I'm guessing it won't be long before main lake turns chocolate if they are pulling water and Truman is dumping
  18. I figured fishing to be tough due to weather changing so drastically and fish on the move and spread out. Fishing changing daily I'm sure. Thanks all for updates!
  19. Mike, Thanks for your reply. How was water color on main lake and gravois? thanks
  20. Anyone been to the lake last couple days, looking for water temp and water clarity from mid-lake to dam. thanks
  21. How many boats does this Table Rock tourney usually draw?
  22. I think I will stick with the 15 lb. Seaguar. If I break that then it was meant to be. 15 lb. Seaguar is pretty tough stuff and easier on the equipment and me, and it last all year as well. Just needs a little strechin here and there.
  23. What is the advantage of braid vs. fluorocarbon using the A-rig, besides the obvious of not being able to break the crap. I hate braided line and plan on using 15 lb. Seaguar which I think will be plenty strong enough. Am I missing something?
  24. Bought a couple of A-rigs today for springtime. That was exactly what I was thinking was to put 5 grubs on and clip hooks on the top 2 grubs with the thinking the bass would be rising to bait and get the bottom ones.
  25. I would plan on making the trip somewhere between say middle of March to the end of April and I would definitely go to Table Rock vs. Bull Shoals. Don't get me wrong Bull is a great lake but water levels could be 35-40 ft high vs TR 15 ft high. As for guide, if your a first-timer to lake I would definitely get a guide to make your trip get off to a great start. There are some great guides on TR. I have used Bill Beck which I consider one of the best. Mr. Babler is on this board and is good as well as are others. A lot of the guides all talk to each other and help each other out even when out on the lake. You will not be disappointed. You can fish for any of the bass species you wish and find any kind of water you like to fish as well. Good fishin!
